Alright, so we all know in toku at times motifs and color schemes can be reused. And like that one time where I asked Kuuga basic 4 forms VS Kiva basic 4 forms, Thought I would make a thread where we can all discuss these and because I don't wanna spam new ones. Folks, it is my pleasure to introduce to you:

The rules are simple; two toku heroes/villains/monsters will be pitted against each other that have similar motifs, color schemes, designs, or chracter traits/tropes. After that simply just discuss away. :lolol
Have fun folks, and starting this debate:

RYUTAROS IMAGIN/DEN-O GUN FORM

VS

SHOU RONPO/RYU COMMANDER

Similar traits:
Both are violet
Both have dragon motifs
Both can be considered oddballs
Both are acted out by voice actors Kenichi Suzumura and Hiroshi Kamiya. Suzumura was Ryutaros, and Kamiya was Shou Ronpo(or as I like to affectionately call him Commander Dumplings)
Both voice actors co-host a toku radio show approved by Toei called Kamen Radiranger

Non-similar traits:
Ryutaros is a child or child-like and the baby of the crew, Shou is the oldest and leads his team as the commander
Ryutaros has B-boy skills, Shou is an expert dad dancer
Ryutaros is impish and chaotic, Shou is relaxed and does dad jokes time-to-time
Ryutaros has a gun, Shou has a funky cane with a dragon head
Ryutaros rides a two-part train that changes into a dragon, Shou has a mechanical dragon that combines with a scorpion and two bears to form a humanoid robot
Okay, that said, BEGIN!

Because I never watched Kyuranger:

Ryutaros. Lovable bastard and second best base Den-O form.

I thought this was gonna be a Sentai vs PR thread, lol. Even though I actually didn't mind Ryutaros in Den-O I do prefer Kyuranger as a show and I never like to praise Den-O too much so I suppose I'll go with Sho Lonpo, sorry!

This is a tournament matchup, right? Not a popularity contest?

In which case I vote for Ryu Commander. Ryutaros is just too childish and easily outwitted. I would imagine the fight simply ends with Shou offering him candy or something and he agrees.

I wonder how many more matchups you can think of now.

Naw, can't really say I thought up of it as a popularity contest. This is more of a me just throwing the topic out there for everyone and people just freely discussing what they like about one subject as opposed to the other. :lolol
Around the time I feel like people have talked a good amount of the topic I will throw another topic into the ring.

Ryu Commander is obviously better (and I lean more towards Kamen Rider than Super Sentai). Gotta love that little song and dance thing he does whenever he spins the Kyu Roulette.

Alright I will write one too. Ryutaros is fun and all but he is a wild card and can be a loose cannon without supervision. That said, Commander Dumplings can't compete with them Ryutaros b-boy skills. Man this is hard... I was rooting for Ryutaros but heck, my hats off to the violet dragon-man who can do a decent dad joke, manages 11 rangers, and because xiaolongbaos are one of my favorite dishes so COMANNDER DUMPLINGS! YAY! :lolol

Both have childish traits
Both have someone they admire
Both have a rival regarding the person they admire
Both are boistrous and have a wild card streak to their fighting style
Just cause they are childish don't think they are weak, these two are strong as much as they are feisty

Non-similar traits:
One is violet the other green
One is a dual-wielding ninja, the other a gunslinging dragon-man
Ryutaros has a more impish streak compared to Ren
Ren desires to fight those that are strong, Ryutaros just wanna defeat you no matter how stong
Ren has not shown an interest in dancing(yet), Ryutaros busts a move whenever he wants to
Okay, that said, BEGIN!

Definitely Ryutaros. He was really well fleshed out in his series and went through a good amount of development of these traits. But would it really be fair to compare the 2 when ryutaros has had his series finish on top of added material, through movies and specials, while kenzans' series just started and we still dont know as much about him as we do ryutaros.

True. But I suppose to be fair if you compare the two solely on their early appearances, any changes to your answer?

Ryutaros for his early appearances didnt recieve much exposition aside from being the kid brother of the taros and the means to access gun form. Kenzan would be the winner, solely due to the amount of info we got on him and the focus that he got mainly due to being a main rider, rather than comedic relief and a supporting character like ryutaros. So it mainly comes down to the nature of their roles early on and how the shows handle it. As things are, ryutaros wins overall for the amount of growth we saw in his show. But early appearances were kinda weak ,so on the same playing field, Kenzan is the winner

Ryutaros, obviously. It's far too early to really judge anything from Saber and it's also Saber, so odds of it eventually ending up being that good aren't great to begin with.

On a base level, if we're talking personalities, Ryutaros wins. He's childishly adorable, but Ren comes off as more of a psychopath (which I hope he is).

If we're talking rider suits, Gun form looks awesome, but I have a bias towards ninjas so Kenzan winds on that regard.

All-in-all tho? It's Ryutaros. He's always fun to see when he's around.

All have similar design traits especially the helmet

G3/G3-X and Gatack are independent, Rod Form requires one Ryotaro Nogami and one Urataros imagin to function
G3/G3-X rides a cruiser bike, Gatack rides a dirtbike that becomes a hoverboard, Rod Form rides a train controlled by a dirtbike
G3/G3-X has an array of weapons, Gatack has a pair of swords that combine to become gardening scissors, Rod Form fights with a fishing rod

So Rod Form FTW? Well, in that case I choose Gatack because high voltage gardening scissors defeats all. :lolol
Either that or G3 goes Ash Williams on both of them.

Gatack, since he is meant to be the strongest Rider in his series.

But most of the credit goes to his high voltage gardening scissors though, right? :lolol
