How'd Ryu and Chun turn out? Haven't seen any reviews on them as of yet.

Surprisingly nice, actually.

I have some small paint slop on them, as is the usual LC QC, but outside of that they actually look and move great. Only actual gripe I really have are their necks are similar to the turtles where it's meant to be a double barbell joint ala SHFs but the range isn't good. They can look up and down fine but I feel the usual neck articulation would have been fine.

I'd also recommend shaving the wrist pegs down to make swapping easier because trying to swap out Chun-Li's hands with the spiked cuffs when the connection is so tight is literal pain.

I finally got the SS SHF Ultraman in the mail. It?s funny how jacked this dude is compared to Shin Ultraman. A great figure, despite how... chesty it looks in the promo shots. The eyes are beautiful, too.

Star Wars - The Bad Batch has been renewed for Series 2 and The Mandalorian renewed for Series III on Disney Plus. Several months ago I picked up the collector's set for The Mandalorian I and II. I need to get The Book Of Boba Fett in December. Ashoka is also due to start on Disney + soon.

Yeah, it seems like Hasbro heard about how double ball pegs are the best for neck ariculation and didn't bother to look up how to implement them properly. They've had that issue across all their lines.

Good to see our estranged Uncle, Hasbro, has cleaned up their act and is trying to get better. We should be supportive of them even if they screw up putting that neck peg on the figures. They are trying to get better!

I gotta handle this Street Fighter figure to see this neck peg. I am very curious now.

In general I’ve been pretty happy with LC’s output recently. They really seem to be addressing a lot of issues and putting out interesting things

Got the Mission and Surprise boxes, W Buckle, Monster Buckle, and Spider Phone. Seller tossed in a couple Henshin sound cards as a bonus which was nifty.

I still can't get over how unsightly and obtrusive the new Bandai Namco logo is. I thought it would grow on me by now, but the red square Bandai logo was so iconic!

I got two things in the mail recently, the SHF Upgrade torso and head for Ultraman Tiga SS, and my grail, Ultraman Titas.

If anyone is curious about the SHF Upgrade Tiga torso, this thing is kind of nuts. You have to use the innards of the abdomen from the regular figure and force on the new soft plastic torso. The way the replacement head sat on the neck looked a little too short for my liking, but I just slapped my original tiga head on there and now the figure has a graceful long neck. Just like a beautiful giraffe!

I noticed some paint slop on the torso I got, but also I had to manhandle this thing to get all the parts attached. It?s like the old saying, when you point the finger at someone else, you have three fingers pointing back at you. Maybe I caused all this mess!

Is it worth it? Uh... well, I can touch the figure without it feeling all sticky and disgusting, so yeah!

Just got some HK import blu-rays. Supercop has US releases but I prefer this edition.

I love the Police Story saga of films!

What are the differences between the US and that version?

I'm not that familiar but from what I can tell, the older Supercop blu-ray is lower PQ and dub-only, while the upcoming blu-ray uses the same master as this, except is also available as a UHD disc. I mostly bought this version over the upcoming US release because I thought it was cooler :lol

That brings my collection to the first 3 films. Are the others worth watching?

Haha no. Supercop 2 is interesting as a side story, but Jackie is barely in it.

I watched the dub of supercop earlier this year. That thing is awful.

One really petty and nitpicky complaint that I believe displays how little value the english dub guys placed on this movie: They had a guy playing a video game I think on sega saturn and there was a bunch of loud punching noises like he was playing a fighting game, but they showed the tv later and it said ?tetris? on the screen. Some absolute freak just came in and messed with the sounds for no reason!

The first half of Police Story 1, with all the explosions and stunt actors placed in mortal danger, is some of the greatest filmmaking of all time. And that ending mall fight is incredible too. I have to rewatch the Supercop movie with the original language before I can comment on it being good or not.

Speaking of Police Story 1, Jackie Chan himself prefers the Japanese release even to the original. There's a slightly different set up and more jokes.

Yeah, I've heard that, but I feel like Michelle Yeoh is cool enough to lead. I guess people who didn't already know she was the lead could be disappointed, though.

Oof, that sounds bad. I haven't seen it yet (only the first two, but I liked them enough to buy this as well) but I've heard Supercop is actually one of the best in the series so hopefully you'll get to see it in the original language sometime.

I didn't even know there was a Japanese version. It doesn't seem to be included in the Criterion as far as I can tell...or is it?

I actually bought that HK edition of supercop, but I never got to watch it because I got kicked out of my place and had to do a hasty move. Now the blu ray is lost. I will watch it though, if only to hear the true sounds of tetris on the tv, as Jackie intended.

The opening credits of the english dub are also horrendous. It looked like somebody?s first project in window?s movie maker. It was all pretty bad, almost like a freak criminal was in charge of the studio that localized it, Miramax.

I have the Criterion version of 1 and 2 as well, and I think people were complaining about it not being as good as other versions. I think maybe the Japanese version was mentioned, but I don?t remember. The Criterion edition is still a great set, though.

Barnes & Noble Criterion sale is on, so I grabbed another HK action flick for the collection.

09 / 10 The Power Of The Doctor Parts 1 And 2 Movie Finale

Jodi (13th Doctor) has now concluded her run.

Now there will be a wait for Doctor Who XL and the 3 specials before 2024 and the main episodes of Doctor Who XL.

Getting into Criterion Collection got me into Tokusatsu (Showa Godzilla leads to Ultraman leads to everything else), so i have to share that I also picked up the infernal affairs trilogy. Never did watch this before, but, of course I am going to pick up HK or Japanese movies from Criterion!

And I got Ultraman Nexus and Cosmos on DVD. The first episode of Nexus looks pretty good on DVD, even though I would personally prefer a blu ray.

Oh and I got the figures of Japanese Comedy Duo Downtown. They all dressed up like the SSSP one time, and the Gorangers. It?s basically tokusatsu.
