(Rumored) Report Of A New Power Rangers Reboot Film (And Possible Buyout)
https://comicbook.com/power-rangers/...mplete-reboot/
If this holds together, presuming that there's even a shred of validity to the claim, then 2026 could be big year for the franchise. Don't know how I feel about Paramount and Skydance having a primary say in things, but I remain hopeful. |
Anyone is better than Hasbro at this point.
|
I live by the principle that until there is a trailer, it is just a rumor. But I will be glad if they succeed. The main thing is that people who really love PR take on the matter, and then, even in the case of a commercial failure, it will be a pleasant addition to the franchise.

I'll believe this when a more reputable site than ComicBook.com picks up on it.

Bring back the Bulkwich.

Not even news unless something is set in stone it just talk. At this point it doesn’t look like anyone wants this franchise just not enough profit or big fan base.

I'd be perfectly fine with PR being bought by someone else.
As for a new film, I'm not so sure. |
Given Paramount’s current financial situation I would be shocked if they outright buy the property. Hasbro said they would be licensing out properties from now on and not producing movies as it’s not best for them financially. Seems like Paramount trying to find a hit outside of established properties for them. And I am also skeptical of anything from Comicbook.com

i just wish power rangers license can go back to bandai.

So that Comicbook.com article. I think the part of it that’s correct is Paramount working on a new PR film with Hasbro not being involved creatively. We’ve known they are just going to license out properties since recent movies haven’t made as much as they like. The part I call BS on is that for the right price Hasbro would sell the brand to Paramount. Two reasons I think this. When is the last time Hasbro sold a property? I don’t think they ever have. And secondly Paramount isn’t in a good position financially. They were just sold for like $7 billion. It would take more money than what Hasbro bought the brand for to get it away from them, if they were open to selling. I don’t think Paramount has that much money to spend on a property that traditionally doesn’t make a ton of money at the box office.

This seems like the legit news. https://www.thewrap.com/live-action-...hasbro-disney/
|
I’ll believe it when I see it.
|
Glad I'm not the only one who is very skeptical.
|
Would Disney even want it back?
|
The two people in talks worked on Percy Jackson and the Olympians for Disney Plus recently together, anybody know if it's good? Seems favorable review-wise in general.

Of course, if they decide to go back and do the same old sentai footage splicing they should start with Kiramager and then give us King-Ohger for season 2. Only because Kiramager is generic enough but has a unique aesthetic going on with their whole gemstone motif and starting with King-Ohger seems like it'll set the bar way too high in terms of expectations for potential future seasons. |

I'm also in the camp of "I'll believe it when I see it." But if it does happen, I do hope we return to adapting Sentai rather than going the all-original live-action or animated route. It could be any season of Sentai and I'd just be happy with the return of the franchise, really.
