My Skylanders theory worked!
So Skylanders Giants recently released and among them were the new Lightcore Skylanders that light up when placed on the portal of power. I thought that Lightcore Prism Break was easily the coolest and had the best light up feature.
I kinda wanted it, but as I don't have the game/portal of power, I couldn't light it up. That got me thinking. When they released the Fusion switch with the Big Ring, people showed the O Scanner lighting up the ring. So I thought I'd take my scanner to Toys R Us and try it on the Skylanders because it seemed to use similar scanning technology. I had some doubts, but then I saw some faint glowing and got really excited. It actually worked really well. It was dim in package because it needs to be closer to the scanner. That's actually pretty cool.

Yeah, toys and household appliances tend to give off radio waves within a very set range of frequencies, so it's no wonder that an OOO scanner would work with this. I might go out and grab one of those Skylanders figures just to try it with something like a remote controlled car transmitter or something.

Just another reason why OOO is awesome.

Do Wizard rings light up on Skylander portals, then?
Great, now when I eventually buy Giants I'm gonna think <Skylander name> PLEASE when I put them on the portal. Also I kinda wish the 3DS Portal would start saying Shabadoobie Touch Henshin when activated and awaiting a Skylander... |

And LOL, Wizard style Skylanders portal. That would be sweet. |
