S.I.C. or S.H.Figuarts?
My friend and I are having a small argument about which one is better, SIC or Figuarts.
My friend says Figuarts are not worth $30 to $50. And SIC is better because it is heavily detailed, has more accessories, and it has a wonderful size + price. He only likes figuarts, becuase they have better holding hands than SIC (Note: He's talking about the current SIC) I say Figuarts are better because it's heavily detailed, accurate to the show, has tons of accessories, good size because it's not too big, it's not too small. And it's totally worth $30 to $50. What do you guys think? Do you like SIC or Figuarts better? |
I like Figuarts better for the sake of accuracy, I've only ever wanted a few S.I.C. where as I have a bunch of Figuarts.

I've only ever liked a few SIC figures, whereas Figuarts always impress me even if its of a character I don't like/know nothing about.

Figuarts hands down. SIC is very Miss or Hit with me. Like 90% miss, 10% hit.

I'm actually at a point where I'm finding myself preferring the SIC Kiwami Tamashiis over Figuarts again. I'll admit that the Figuarts are really, really cool with all their poseability and that the ones with high accessory counts can be especially impressive (Knight is probably my favorite action figure ever). But the SIC KTs are just more fun to pick up and fiddle with - they work more like toys than display pieces. Add to that the gorgeous paint jobs and some of the really cool accessories they've started getting (Kaixa's binoculars turn into his kick weapon and his blaygun can store on the holster - things the Figuart only accomplished by including two versions of those accessories), I just think they're awesome. Plus the low price makes them a huge deal compared to the bigger lines.
The only downsides of the line is that the SIC aesthetic is, like MidoGreen said, kinda hit and miss (although I find it more 80% hit/20% miss, personally - any time SIC tackles a tech-based Rider the result is a gorgeously greebly bit of awesome), there aren't a lot of releases per year, and the characters that we get tend to be a pretty random selection (still waiting on an Ibuki, Bandai!). |
This is a hard question. In general I really like that Figuarts are show accurate, and more poseable, but the SICs I like, I REALLY like.
I like the slightly larger size, the extreme detail and huge accessory count, and the form change abilities they have. Between SHF Climax Den-O and any of the SIC Den-Os I have, the SICs win hands down. But SHF also has much broader character penetration. I don't have any of the Dopants yet, or Daguba, but it's great that they're available in Figuarts form, and I'm all over the Horoscopes. So I guess for the purposes of this poll, SHF wins for me, but SIC is just right behind. |
Used to be a big fan of the the main S.I.C. line but have long switched to SHF. They're cheaper and smaller. I've come to prefer the smaller size too which both takes up less space and makes them compatible with other lines like Figma and certain Revoltech. On top of that there are more compatible vehicles and playsets for them to make really fun displays (Heh, my Den-O characters have overrun my 11th Doctor's Tardis XD).
Mainline S.I.C.s and even Kiwami Tamashii figures being slightly larger than similarly scaled figures hurts they're compatibility I think. I still like the S.I.C. style but given the cost of the large figures and the limited character availability of the both lines, SHFs are just overall better for me to collect. |
Curses.... Look like I lose. =<

Yes you did

I have to go with S.H. Figuarts, since I would rather have a more show-accurate look, rather than a stylized look, and Figuarts don't, as Vangelus describes "S.I.C." you, I think that worth they're price point, and the size is perfectly fine, since there are other 6" scale figures, they can interact with those as well, whereas there aren't as many 9" scale figures
