Garo The One Who Shines in the Darkness 25 - Beginning
 

Bet you thought we were done with these, huh? Well, not quite yet. There's one last episode of series three and it's not a clip show.

This episode is basically a quick overview of what happened with Burai after the disaster that left 50% of both Ryuga and Rian's parents dead (seriously, who/where is Ryuga's dad?). It's mostly the story of him coming to accept his role as Rian's guardian. In that light it's actually a very sweet story and it's actually a bit of a shock when adult Rian turns up at the end as the cocky brat we all know and lust aft- I mean love.

We also get the closest thing to an explanation for what happened to the Garo armor. In doing so, though, the show just raises more questions as the armor has apparently been dark since Burai was a kid. I'm starting to wonder if this show was more of an AU than a sequel. Either way, it was a nice - if kind of oddly placed - final episode. I definitely walked away with a better understanding of and admiration for Burai.

I enjoyed this episode a lot more than I was expecting. More Rian is always a good thing as I'm concerned, and I thought the child actor did a really good job.
