Interestingly enough, The Rock was rumored to play Shipwreck in the 1st movie.

It would be interesting to see Lee Byung Hun out of character, since he is such a bastard in the movie, he sounds like a nice dude.

I am damn glad they are making this movie. I LOVED the first Joe movie. They didn't try to "real" it up. And I am damn happy they are keeping the cool factor with the 2nd movie.

I enjoyed the first movie very much. Part of the fun of it was how outrageous the action sequences were, and that was immensely fun. This is a continuation of the first one, isn't it? I seems like they're getting rid of a lot of the characters from the previous movie. Is Duke dead?

Duke is alive in this movie.

The first movie I enjoyed - never saw it in theaters, watched it for free on Netflix one night - but I still enjoyed it. I did feel like they tried to make "GI JOE TRANSFORMERS" though, as the movie looked, played out, and felt like one of Michael Bay's Transformers films, just without the Transformers.

This second movie looks to get away from that and focus less on SCI-FI ROBOT SUIT EXPLOSIONS and just badass action scenes. And Bruce Willis is in it. C'mon!

The important part of Storm Shadow is to "live a lie to find the truth". An actor who portrays him must be able to do this convincingly. I saw evidence of Lee being able to do that in "3 Extremes". He didn't have enough screentime in ROC to show that.

Then I saw "I Saw The Devil". The path to vengeance and the realization that it can ultimately consume your soul is a defining aspect of Storm Shadow. "I Saw The Devil" had Lee in a starring role and he definitely played the part very well. It is also proof that his role as Storm Shadow was rather tame in ROC.

He's said to have a more pivotal and stronger role in Retaliation, and I hope this pans out because Storm Shadow is my favorite character, and Lee was underused in ROC.

I disagree totally about the Bay thing. Gi Joe was damn good. It had the joe feel, as well as the look most of the time. Bayformers is just garbage IMO. I despise everything about the TF movies from bay.

I have often mused that "GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra" could have been titled "GI Joe: The Movie For Luke." Because damn did I love that movie.

And I am just as pumped for Retaliation. GI Joe is a property that can work in many different ways and I am very excited to see this new cinematic direction on the big screen.
