Can we just start adapting Kamen Rider now? Everyone keeps wanting DARK AND SERIOUS BROODING GRITTY ACTION DRAMA FIGHT and PR is far too lighthearted for that.
Even if RPM, Time Force and in Space were awesome. |

It doesn't feel like Power Rangers, the fact that all the technology is human made - a major turn off. It kills the mystique and mystery of the show.
I hope that there is a bit of humor in the final episode, and that it doesn't try way to hard to take itself seriously, that is what MMPR is all about. Teenagers who also happen to fight alien monsters when they're not in school. I appreciate all the hard work that the crew has put into this, so i'll reserve all my final thoughts until the series is eventually complete. But based on the trailer those are my initial reactions. |

Kamen Rider Dragon Knight suffered from a few things.
For starters - the battles failed to keep my attention, so I imagine kids wouldn't be paying attention either. Power Rangers has it nailed down - put in some heavy beat music, lots of "HIYAS" and such, be loud and obnoxious with cool stunts. Dragon Knight was more like "........hfff........hehhhh.......unnng....." as costumed heroes jumped and rolled on the ground. Secondly, it was on the CW going against Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. No chance there. I think an adaption of Kamen Rider Fourze would work VERY well, and I would imagine that Gaim would do even better - it has a very Power Rangers feel to it with all the Riders, with the right overtone of humor. But it has to be done right. And I don't think Saban could honestly do it right - the charm and appeal of some of these Kamen Rider shows is how campy they can get out of the blue but then jump back to seriousness. As for the MMPR trailer... It's not that I *DON'T* like it. It just doesn't look like Power Rangers. I'm sure at the end of the day it will be a quality fan-made feature and there will be many who do "love" it. Time will tell. But yes, Dina Cataldi is very attractive ;) |

The irony is, Dragon Knight did really really well in Japan. And here is me, the only white guy on the planet who apparently loved it as much as them. But then again Japan loves Power Rangers Samurai...and let's not go there.
