I generally disregard Ashes to Ashes, I dunno about its actual canonicity but when it started bringing in heaven and hell and angels and demons and shit it was so far left from where the show started I got bored.

If they went the first season route, each member of the team could be aspects of Right himself. Like a conscience, which would make sense as Mio is the voice of reason, Hikari is the realist etc They could easily be fragments of the same person, especially if they are suffering a psychotic break/physical trauma.

Well, the AtA finale is full canon, according to the show's creators. They did both LoM and AtA. I can't find the interview now but I think I have it bookmarked at work where they state that the show went pretty much where they planned it to and that the general ending would have been close to what we got if John Simm hadn't left. I think, as a whole, the story makes sense within its own rules and was a satisfying conclusion. But, as the badly butchered old saying might have gone, three people can only agree that a series is good if two of them are dead. :D

If this show goes Ashes to Ashes route, I'll be sad. If it goes Life on Mars route, I'll be happy.

What if it goes Doctor Who (post-2005) series 5?

I'm sort of wondering if maybe they'll go the route of having them all die (in some great self-sacrifice) and then have everyone imagine them back into existence or something in gratitude. That way we get our emotions tugged, but still finish up with a happy ending.

Then again I've been wrong at pretty much every plot turn I've tried to predict so clearly I have not been able to get into the mind of a Toku series writer yet.

I'm still holding out for it to go full on Life on Mars.

You've also reminded me how annoyed I am at BBC America for never bringing over AtA series 3. Which is fine because the show was also never released on dvd or streaming here. :mad:

I didn't like the show nearly as much, but I wanted to see how it ended, not have to read about it on the internet.

But the ending was so bad!

So, the Shadow Line’s goal is pretty much an exact copy of the Deboss Legion’s. But, compared to the Deboss Legion the way the Shadow Line handles things feels like it’s on a much grander scale and efficient compared to the Deboss. I’ll say it again: the villains continue to remain the most interesting thing about Tokkyuger. I love the designs, and the fact that we could be getting an evil ranger team again is pretty exciting. I’m still having trouble remembering who the Tokkyugers are by name and Tokkyu5’s “I think I can” act is already starting to get old/irritating.

I had a better time with this episode then I did episode 1 that’s for sure.
