Yeah, I thought the whole point is that he's tri-colored. Other than the black pants, he seems to be gold/black/silver all at once...which is kind of cool.

It's having other colors vs. "being" other colors. The non-black colors have a greater significance, clearly, than random design choices. Still, whether his suit remains the same or that's only his default form, his color appears to be black more than anything else.

Of course - black usually a good starting point for a base colour. But that doesn't mean Zyuoh TheWorld should be labelled as a "black" ranger. People don't label King Ranger as a black ranger do they?

Yes, yes they do, actually. If DragonRanger can be green and KibaRanger can be white, KingRanger can be black. Not that that's necessarily immediately relevant to ZyuohTheWorld...

They do? Can't honestly say I've ever seen someone call KingRanger a black ranger by colour designation (though that could have a lot to do with Zeo's influence *shrug*) but fair enough. It was more a point of whether people actually do it rather than it being wrong.

But back to the point at hand, to say Zyuoh TheWorld is a *insert colour* ranger is completely ignoring what the show is clearly going for.

I am liking this third ranger a lot.

Also him having 7-9 for Cube Animals possibly means... we'll get twelve total? I like the idea of a four Megazord minimum these days.

Doesn't Sentai recognize Kingranger as a black ranger, and it's Zeo that calls him gold?

But I just like having a character be designated a color just for simplicity's sake.
I don't like ambiguous placings (*Glares at Dekaswan*), but that's just me.

I don't know what people say or if he's ever been recognized as anything, but I certainly classify KingRanger as black--and I grew up on Zeo. I do know that many, many years ago, I saw someone say he's not considered gold in Sentai. Couple that with having actual golds, and I've shifted my perspective.


I don't know, I think if they were that bothered about it, they could have taken it further. The way it's looking, I see orange and silver his auxiliary colors of sorts.

Aside from that, I think a big motivating factor in classifying anyone as a particular, single color has to do with having multiple seasons. If Zyuohger were all that existed of the series, fans like myself would be less bothered about narrowing it down. Classifying him a single color has less to do with Zyuohger than it does Super Sentai.


Same here. I'd look to narrow anyone down to a single color if at all possible. I want more oranges and violets, etc. It seems a needless mess to start dealing with combinations in Sentai.
