Not surprised, really. The question is, how long after it airs will it appear?
|
Well if they do it like X and Orb, the "simulcast" should be up after an hour or so after it originally aired in Japan for the paying members. For everybody else it'll be available a week later. Now that I think about it, didn't they release the first episode of Orb for everybody then went back to the week later with the second episode?

And now the official announcement from crunchyroll themselves http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-new...geed-simulcast

That was a really great premiere. I wasn't particularly hyped for Geed beyond the knowledge that, after X and Orb, Tsuburaya can basically do no wrong, so I was actually quite surprised how quickly it won me over once I started watching it. I feel excited to follow this show in a way I wasn't at first with Orb.
Riku in particular ended up being extremely likable in a mere 22 minutes. You can't go wrong with a hero who literally names himself after the concept of taking action. Also he has great taste in tokusatsu, which I can respect. :p |
Saw the Episode 0 on Crunchyroll, and the Raw for Episode 1 in the youtube link TF RyuShin posted.
Overall I thought the Episode 1 was pretty good. Riku and his alien friend seem like decent people. The fight completely wiped away my initial worry of Geed Primitive just being Orb Thunder Breaster v2. Still not really comfortable with how overtly toyetic the Geed Rizer is, although I might warm up to it as the series goes on... |
Brilliant premiere. I pretty much share the sentiment that Tsuburaya can't do anything wrong at the moment, and this just continued that mindset. If I HAD to nitpick something it would be the use of a fusion gimmick again straight after Orb, but I'd really be stretching myself to consider that a real issue.
Very curious about that little prologue bit. I always love how good Ultra is with handling continuity. I've only seen Q, the original, X and Orb but I don't ever feel like I'm missing anything with the returning faces. Riku is a very likeable protagonist and the action sequences are as beautiful to watch always (love a good nighttime fight). Really looking forward to more. Also I'm finally going to get around to changing that thread title :p |
