Made a lot of progress on Skyrim's story (much further than I got before my console broke but back then I had a life and friends). Although the actual level design is painful and drawn out I'm loving the dwarf lore in this game. I had to check a few times that I hadn't fallen through one of Anna's tears and found myself in an alternative version of Rapture.

Anyone played Journey? I just did and it has to be the most beautiful experience in gaming I've had since Shadow of the Colossus. Although everything about it is amazing, the most beautiful part has to be the companions you meet along the way. I met some anonymous players who I worked out the puzzles with and towards the end, when the journey gets really perilous, I found myself worrying for them and deeply appreciating their companionship. It felt like we really went through a lot together though I had neither name nor face to place to the players. I think any game that makes you feel so strongly for anonymous people that you can't talk or communicate with beyond simple actions is really something. It wasn't cheap for its length, but every cent spent on this set (that included the interesting Flow and the similarly beautiful Flower) was well spent. It was a truly heartfelt gaming experience. Made loads of progress on Skyrim's story this morning. Became a Thane of some other place and got myself a sidekick out of it, defeated Alduin in our first battle and decided to stuff the Blades and keep Parthonax alive, who has helped me way more.

My team right now in my Sapphire nuzlocke.
Blazing the Combusken, LV 18. Zena the Zigzagoon, Deceased. Moip the Wingull, Deceased. Duster the Duxtox, LV 14. Toxic the Cascoon, Deceased. Bieber the Whismur, LV 14. Barbara the Zubat, LV 7. Tommy the Taillor, LV 15. I just beat the second Gym and i feel like my team is overleveled, which is a good thing because i can avoid dying. |

Anyway, what's the point in listing deceased members? They can't be part of the team anymore. |

Working through Dragonball Z Budokai 3's HD remake on my XBOX 360. I loved this game when I had my PS2 and its even better with the new graphics. Just trying to remember how to unlock everyone now.

i'm still on that Borderlands 2 grind.

Final Fantasy XIII: Taejin's Tower in Chapter 11 doing the required Sidequests.
|
Feeling kinda meh about Skyrim at this point, it has such little variation in locations and mission types it becomes a grind fairly quickly. It doesn't help that the game doesn't seem to want to end, I killed Alduin assuming he was the big bad, but he was just a blip. Missions have been coming in for hours after him and are still coming.

Yeah. I lost my interest in Skyrim because of stuff like that, too. It seems like The Elder Scrolls games have about a million different story lines you could follow, but none of them are important. It hypes up Alduin, but the game just...Keeps going.
The game is fun, as all Elder Scrolls games I played are (Morrowind and onward. Never played Daggerfall or Arena), but after a certain point, you become a titan and there is no challenge. Anyway, recently started playing some more Injustice: Gods Among Us. It's fun, and I managed to win a first to 3 against a Zod (A character I have no experience fighting against because he was both released a few days back and I haven't been watching much videos of him) and won a first to 5 against a guy who's rank was about 30 levels higher (My measly 41 vs. his 74), all while using a lower tiered character (Ares) against his top tier nonsense (Killer Frost and Superman), so that made me feel good. Also helped that they released a free costume for Ares a few days back to incentivize me :lol. Not gonna lie, the free costume was the reason why I started playing today (I was afraid it was a timed release). |
I am stuck in Arkham city, i think this is the last time you fight the Joker but the area is blocked off by way to many snipers. I can manage to defeat most of them they still kill me.

Final Fantasy XIII: Still loving it, but the Chapter 12 opening cut scene was a big WTF?

For instance, there was a Daedra hunter who requested my help in Markarth. It turns out that it was a trick by a powerful Daedric lord, who requested my help in torturing an enemy of his. There is literally no way to finish this quest without committing murder somehow or another and it is really annoying when role-playing a good character. There was an opportunity to say no to the Daedric Lord, but it accomplished nothing, the mission was still in your journal and uncompleted. So the only way for a good character to resolve this mission is to not get it at all, meaning I had to avoid talking to that person. Now this wouldn't be a problem if he didn't automatically rope me into a conversation as I so much as neared him. This is only one instance out of many. How about when I had to either work with or assassinate the leader of the Forsworn? Or when I had to kill a defenseless old lady to stop the Dark Brotherhood? |
Some Random Things Sentai Misses in Video Games Because He Really is a Nossan Password Saving - Megaman comes to mind almost immediately. From having to match different colored balls, to having to remember faces. Flashing Bosses - Alot of good classic Arcade games used this trick. As you defeat a boss he would start flashing white and orange. The quicker he flashed, the closer you were to winning. Games Without Multiplayer - I hate multiplayer. And I think it's because of Call of Duty. I love Call of Duty's Single Player, Modern Combat especially. But.. Recently games have been giving out really lackluster short single player campaigns, just to say they have one, so they spend all their time and resources on multiplayer missions that some twelve year old in his parents basement is always better at than you anyway. Game Genie - I had one for the original Nintendo and loved it. Game Shark not so much... |
I love multiplayer.
Granted, I'm a huge fan of fighting games, so having the opportunity to fight my brother in them was always great. The first time I got to play a fighting game online. Oh god. I practically fainted in pleasure. My brother (And eventual brothers) tended to quickly drop below me in terms of skill, so I never really ascended in skill when it came to playing most fighters. Having the chance to play others online and constantly hone my gameplay was a godsend when you realized that the computer AI in fighters tend to just read inputs to beat the player. |

And immediately got my ass kicked. I'm not very good at SFxT. Thankfully Injustice came out and it's both crazy fun and I'm really good at it (around 1200th overall in ranked matches). I mostly play Wonder Woman and Batgirl, although I'm experimenting with Hawkgirl now that her awesome Earth 2 skin is out. |
Mario party, the best kind of multiplayer.

I was never very good at SFxT either (I'm a pad player, so pulling off the Tag cancels or whatever was just too much for me), but playing fighters online is always a fun experience for me. I'm actually enjoying Injustice as well. It's feels like what I was hoping MK9 to be. I main Ares. I have no idea why, I just gravitated towards him (Despite being a big fan of Flash and Wonder Woman). But playing Ares is an uphill battle that I enjoy. Having played SF3, SF4, and MvC3 online, I like playing an underdog character. |

I'd played Wonder Woman during story mode, of course, but didn't warm up to her that much. But then I tried her in arcade mode and did pretty well, so I tried her out online... and did alarmingly well. Despite some reservations about my skill level at first, I just tore people up with her. So I've stuck with her, added a good mixture of combos and tactics, and am continuing to have a ton of fun. And if I'm having an off day or some bad match-ups, I just switch to Batgirl. |
I still have yet to purchase the DLC characters. Batgirl looks fun, but none of them play in a style I like.
Ares doesn't have an answer to everything, but I'm generally able to hold my own against zoning. I just have fun playing as him, despite his lack of options in terms of non-corner combos. |
How fun is Injustice on your own? Not really a big fan of fighters online and although they are fun with friends on the sofa, while being in Cov I have none but I do wanna play it.

Tales of Xillia 2 is coming out to the US next year:
http://www.siliconera.com/2013/07/06...-west-in-2014/ I'm surprised by how fast they announced it. |

Additionally, the Arcade mode presents a unique ending for each character (Though, the endings aren't fully rendered like the cut scenes in the story mode). If you want to just plop down on the couch and have fun, Injustice is a decent fighter for that. |
I was replaying Kid Icarus Uprising, i love how in chapter 5 Pit was trying to be Tokusatsu with all the posing.

Right, but my point was it's origin. Kabuki isn't "tokusatsu" because there are no special effects and relies on the dances and poses in place of said special effects.
|
Quote:
Just because the origin of an action ages back to something such as Kabuki doesn't mean the posing in the reference was referring to it. If you see a character in some random anime start pulling off dramatic poses, I'd be willing to put money down that the poses would be specifically be in reference to Super Sentai or a Henshin Hero series, despite the posing being a holdover from Kabuki. Then again, this misunderstanding all stems from peoples vehement refusal to acknowledge that not all Tokusatsu are Henshin Heroes. |

I've been playing All Kamen Rider Generations 2 on this PSP emulator and it has been extremely fun I love this game.

Final Fantasy XIII: Just got a Chocobo, so I have that song stuck in my head.
|
Took a break from Skyrim for a few days to see if it could rekindle my interest, but it didn't. Although I do like the adventure aspect, the fact that there is about four locations in the entire game looped endlessly and about the same number of mission types being looped over and over I find the game drags very quickly. And now Alduin has been defeated and the civil war is almost done, I basically have no story left to keep me going.
|
Finally convinced one of my New leaf neighbors to move away.
It bugs me that sometimes it doesn't matter if your given the option, even if you say "Yes you can move." they refuse to leave even when you want them too. |
