Iron man 3. Still freaking love it the third time round. The agent Carter short was also awesome, hopefully we'll get a few more of them.

Went out partying last night, and when we awoke we were all hanging, so we decided to go see a movie using our staff price of nothing. About Time was the only film on that didn't leave us waiting like two hours and minus me and some other girl, our burley gang of lads didn't seem that impressed with the idea. But a free ticket is a free ticket.
In the end they laughed, they cried and I think everyone really enjoyed this movie. I don't think it's gonna go down as a classic, especially with how sloppily put together it is visually, but it's definitely an entertaining flick. |
Watching mediocre to bad movies with friends is always a good time.

Saw Pacific Rim again with a group of friends... still awesome! :D

All About Lilly Chou Chou. A very perfect, dark, raw, and unrelenting truthful film about the life of teenagers.

So I watched Justice League: The New Frontier a while back. The movie was decent, but did Batman really need to change his costume before he went to the military?

My cinema were testing our copy of Rush and the overheads said we could sit in and watch it. And man was it a GREAT...Hollywood movie. You see I'm not an F1 fan, and I loved it, and although my friend - and F1 fan - enjoyed it as well, he seemed to enjoy it less.
Let's just say, Rush is a more basic Hollywood film, a typical sports melodrama with fantastic acting, gorgeous cinematography and insane action, rather than some kind of love letter to F1 no matter how the marketing makes it out. A disappointment to F1 fans, maybe, but to all of those with no interest in F1 put off by the marketing, if you love movies, then you'll love this. |

Which Doctor Strange are you talking about, anyway? The 70's movie or the animated one from a couple years back? |

Wasn't terrible, but I don't have any need to watch it again :p |

I thought the Sorcerer Supreme was a great movie, it had a list of flaws as long as my arm but the animation was for the most part, great, the anime influences were for once, used well, it was well shot, well directed and most importantly, the movie was big, epic, dark without being gratuitous, emotionally engaging and I just loved it.

I wasn't a fan, mainly due to character changes, such as Wong using magic or Dormammu being such a bitch.
I'm fairly certain my disdain for the movie had less to do with it's actual flaws, and more to do with it's arbitrarily changing details. Though I did like Steven's character arc as a whole. I can't deny that it was fun to follow. |

Dormammu is considered one of Strange's greatest foes, but in the movie, he was second fiddle to Baron Mordo (Despite granting Mordo his power). |

I'm not a fan of the movie, but I haven't seen it in years, so my memory of it is hazy, but you're free to love it. |

I guess someone at Marvel is a fan, since he remains a constant. Ghost Riders and Captain Americas may die, but Doctor Strange is forever. |

Anyway, I've started up MIB. It's still rather enjoyable. |
3 Idiots: Fairly enjoyable, it's definitely a recommendable movie if you are the kind of guy that can watch 3 hour movies. Rancho is all kinds of awesome form start to end.
Overall, All izz well. :p |

You should have said it was an Hindi movie from the start, had it not been posted in the Youtube thread I probably wouldn't have watched it. I thought it was some kind of Three Stooges. :p Quote:

I'm actually a big fan of Hindi movies, Guzaarish is strongly recomended, it's also pretty much free of dance choreographies. |

Halloween - Picked up the 35th Anniversary BD that came out today and I must say there was a lot I did not notice the first time I saw it last year. I do feel the ending of the movie worked a lot better for me this time around than before, and part of that was due to understanding more of Loomis' dialog. Anyway, the movie itself is very well done. The pacing is fantastic. The music truly fits the mood and scenes that surround it. Not to mention the acting is quite good for the majority of the movie and I love the camera angles used throughout Michael's stalking moments. It is also amazing to think of how little money and time Carpenter had when he made the movie, and yet, it is so much better than most horror movies made today with million dollar budgets. Overall, I give the movie a 9/10 stars as it is a damn good movie and I am glad I bought it.
Halloween II - So we couldn't wait until Friday to watch the next one and went right into II after we finished the first one. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeell, I'm not sure really what to think of this movie. It wasn't terrible, it had some really great moments to it, but it was not even close to being even remotely as great as the first one. I also don't like that they have now made Lauri be Michael's sister. I preferred that he just went after her because she stepped on his house. On the other hand, a lot of it still felt like it was a Carpenter movie mixed with a standard slasher movie, so I do give it points for that. Overall, I'm going to give Halloween II a 7/10 even though it was a generic horror movie rather than being something truly unique and creative. |
Well, I missed today's episode of Power Rangers Megaforce... because I finally went to see Pacific Rim. :D
I really liked this movie. A lot. HISHE pointed out that they could have had the Jaegers fight the kaiju at the actual breach, but given the kaiju battles and the amount of damage taken by the Jaegers throughout the film, I think that's enough of a reason to justify battles closer to land. |

Also, SRC Gipsy Danger, please! |
Halloween 4 - This movie was not terrible but rather extremely predictable. It was not scary at all. The deaths were expected and gone are the unique camera angles and such that made the original great and were still somewhat present in its two sequels. Here, it is just your average run of the mill slasher movie that feels more like a Friday the 13th movie than a Halloween movie. However, the scene when Michael managed to sneak under the truck and then kill each redneck without the others 2 inches away from them knowing it has made me come up with a great new video game franchise. I call it Metal Myers Solid. :p Overall, I give the movie a 5/10 but I hate that they just pretty much killed Curtis' character off screen.
Halloween 5 - Ugh... again, not down right dreadful, but about 15 minutes too long and the movie just leaves off on a cliffhanger out of the blue. I did not like how they cheapened the ending to the previous movie, but my god, what is with the looks of Loomis and Myers in this movie? It seems like Loomis' scars shifted around from where they were in the last movie while Myers' mask looked down right terrible. Killing off Rachel would have been fine had more come out of it. After all, Jaime finds her body at the end and then nothing is ever spoken of it again. And WHY did they not kill off Tina? She was such a worthless selfish character that she truly deserved to die!! Anyway, I give this movie a 4/10. |
