Started reading my first New 52 Batgirl trade this morning. Despite the hype around New 52 Batman I just couldn't get into that series at all. Batgirl is different, with Simone at the helm you can expect a certain level of quality anyway but Batgirl is really good, think I'll be diving into this all day when I can.

Batgirl has been a great read. Definitely my favourite of the new 52 books.

Yeah, it's still in continuity. It comes up quite a bit later when the Death of the Family crossover happens.

And how about why Joker is now a cable man with his face-ripped off, how about an explination for that.

How he lost his face is explained in the first volume of the New 52 Detective Comics. Him being a cable man or rather dressing as one is all explained in death of the Family.

Speaking of Batgirl, they rereleased Killing Joke a few years back didn't they? I might have to brush up on it since it's still a part of Batgirl's continuity somehow.

It's because Batman (and family)'s timeline is largely unchanged, it's just been squished down into a shorter timeframe which makes it all the more confusing.

Yeah, I just don't understand DC. Their universal reboot for the N52 was more like a half boot since some events still happen while others do not. Like there were still Teen Titans before that group, but then they retconned that in the paperback collections. Blackest Night still happened, which means Doomsday killing Superman had to have happened, as did Crisis on Infinite Earths, but...

I actually don't even think DC understands DC anymore. Dan Dido is one of the worst things to happen to the company and I really hope he is gone before he completely destroys them.

Starfire in the comics, and Catwoman in N52 and what they did to her in DCUO, everything wrong with DC Comics right now.

Exactly. It's like they decided to do this whole universe reboot without realizing they needed to hammer down details about character histories and storylines first. They need to stop doing retellings and use this chance to do whole new stories. Yes, Killing Joke was nice. But I've seen it. Move along.

It's frustrating too, because so far Batgirl has been GREAT. It covers a lot of tones and appeals to a lot of emotions and as it's written by Simone it's able to encompass all of those parts really well. It's dark, witty, hilarious, shocking and loads of fun, I didn't think I could be this invested in Batgirl of all characters. Mirror is turning into a great villain too, even if I feel like there is something the comic isn't telling us yet.

However just as I'm invested in the book the brakes are slammed on as we detour around a piece of Batgirl history that apparently still exists even though it makes no sense in context and leaves more questions than it answers.

I wasn't a fan of the new 52 Birds of Prey, but it's still kinda sad to see what was once my favourite DC title get the can. A little bummed about Phantom Stranger too.

Thank god World's Finest getting canned was just an error though.

Not really followed New 52 all that closely, but I swear last time I was looked Batwing was really popular? Surprised they would cancel a comic with a guy like Superboy at the heart of it too, but I know nothing about that comic so I'm assuming it's dreadful. Also kinda worried that so many books around the new Constantine series are getting cancelled though.

Other than Batgirl it's the only other n52 book I really pay close attention to any more. I was already sold by the idea of a Power Girl/Huntress team-up, but it's also been a lot of fun so far.

Birds of Prey and Batwing just got canceled now? I thought they were canned a long time ago. Sad that All-Star is canceled. I hope they give us a good Jonah Hex comic again though.

Damn the new gameplay trailer for Arkham Knight looks incredible. Cant wait for this game.
