I don't know what they were thinking, taking away his most distinctive feature. It's just furthering my belief that Cyclops is the most screwed-over member of the X-Men.

And the fact that he's watched the love of his life die (on multiple occasions), he hates himself (or at least, his past self hates his present self), he accidentally killed the most prominent father figure in his life, and his appearances in the movies.

I never cared much about Scott, then again over the years I have learned that I'm mostly incapable of reading X-Men, which is weird because I love the cartoons.

I dont know much older X-Men stuff so I can only talk about the last years but I really enjoy him.

Being the leader of a race on the brink of extinction and having to make very morally ambigious choices on the way yet still retaining a sense of honor and decency.

Close. Flash Thompson comes home from war, having had his legs amputated, and joins the secret government program Project Rebirth. In this program, he is trained to use the heavily sedated Venom symbiote for black ops missions, not being allowed to stay bonded to the suit for over 48 hours since that would risk permanent bonding. He then goes on to join the Secret Avengers, and gets caught up in a very bad situation involving Red Hulk, the new Ghost Rider, X-23, Hell, and Mephisto, in addition to the excellent crossover with Scarlet Spider titled Minimum Carnage.

It's an excellent book, the struggle for Flash to remain in control makes for one of the most engaging internal conflicts in comics for quite a while.
And the stories are great too.

For a while Venom was the only book I read, I don't know how I got behind so fast.

The last arc on Venom really is something. I would have loved to see that title continue with a relaunched Marvel Now book.

It's only 36 issues, anyway.

And why doesn't Venom have a new book yet?

Venom was awesome, I don't know why they cancelled it.
