No, the season two they were talking about was the R adaptation. Toei just announced on Friday that they will be adapting the S, Super S, and Stars portions of the manga.

The first chapters to S-Stars were like 60-80 pages while the remaining chapters themselves are normally about 40 pages.

Yes, the first 13 episodes of R was a filler arc on the Death Tree with Ali and Anne while the Black Moon Family arc is episodes 14-43.

season 1 of crystal is comprised of 26 episode the first 14 was the dark kingdom arc the last 12 is the Dark moon family arck the villian with guy called wiseman in it.

Hmmm.... I thought they might do that after I posted my last statement. But Manga-wise, 01-O, 02-R, 03-S, 04- Super S, 05- Stars. Maybe since the actual Manga seasons were so short they are going to combine them into 2 or 3 actual Anime seasons. And instead of using "R", "S", etc. it'll just be Crystal Season 1, 2, 3...?

Ok. I'm going to go on the record here and say. I LOVE the animation for Crystal. I've said this a few other times before in various places. And anybody who says it's crap can kiss my Lilly white ass.


Having said that. I like the opening. Is that they same opening song from the first opening? Liked how they put Setsuna/Pluto in the opening.

No thanks. The animation has improved over the episodes but it was pretty bad to begin with.

I watched the first episode. It seemed good to me. But it reminded me of another series that I watched years ago on Sci-Fi Channel when it had Ani-Mondays. Can't rightly remember the name of the series but the mains girl reminded me o Kari from Digimon, I think it was her voice. And it had to do with something called a "Dragon Torque".

But that's every anime ever. Hell, that's every cartoon ever.

They won't use R, S and so on because that was exclusive to the old anime. As the upcoming season should contain both Infinity and Dream, they might either use those names or just keep Crystal.

Uhh, with anime its usually the reverse so no it isn't. And that doesn't automatically give it a free pass regardless.

You can't expect the animation to be top notch in the first few episodes. That is an unrealistic expectation. Just like how you can't expect voice acting to be at its prime in the first few episodes.

Yes I can. The series was a anniversary celebration for a massively popular series that was already held back an entire year from when it was originally anticipated to air. That implies that effort is being put into it.

Secondly, again you're completely ignoring how anime works. It isn't more budget in the later episodes and then the first ones are sketchy - it's the reverse. That's why so many shows have blown their budgets before they run their course and have disappointing endings.

If you love Crystal more power to you but that doesn't mean I have to ignore its flaws.

No but seriously, everyone is entitles to their own opinion. You don't like it, fine. Just be picky and unthankful for what you have been given. They didn't have to give an anniversary celebration of the anime. But they did. So be thankful that it's here and don't criticize so harshly. :)

I didn't grow up with Sailor Moon, Crystal is my first exposure to the franchise. And while it's a decent enough show for me it's nowhere near living up to the level of hype that surrounded it.

Then maybe you should go check out the original and do the comparison that the rest of us are doing. Sailor Moon was my FIRST Anime. It brought me into everything. I spent years wishing for this.


A friend of mine and I started an anime/manga 14 years ago that was a spin-off of SM. But he dropped out once he realized that we had to get Takeuchi-sama's permission to use her characters names and images. So I've spent the last 13 years reworking and revising and renaming everything about it, while keeping some of our original names and concepts in it, by myself.


Sailor Moon has been my drive for well over a decade. Actually almost two decades. That's why I defend it so hard. And as for me getting thicker skin, trust me, it's thick enough. I said "kiss my lilly white ass" because that's just what I do when I truly enjoy something. Take it as you will.


Also, how can you say that you didn't grow up with Sailor Moon? There's only a 3 year difference between us.

Why should he do it? If Crystal cant stand on its own and is only "good" if you had seen something worse first it isnt really worth anything.

People watch different things. I too never grew up with Sailor Moon. I saw couple of episodes but that was it.

Why should I have to? I'm not obligated to watch the original if this is exactly the same thing with the filler removed, if anything that's just more reason for me to NOT watch the original.

I love Sailor Moon. I grew up watching it at five in the morning on the fledgling USA network. I watched it again when Toonami aired it in the afternoon. I endured reticule for taking a Sailor Mercury folder with me every day to school. So, Green, I'm confident in saying SM means just as much to me as it does to you.

And Zeo's exactly right, the animation is godawful. The characters are lanky, and much to bright. I understand they were going for a more manga look to the series but they could've done that and not have the characters look like poster children for why you shouldn't do heroin.

I'll say what you said, why should I? I'm perfectly happy with where I am now. I've lived a hard life and I'm glad to be where I am mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I'm staying just the way I am. If people find me offensive and childish, then they can ignore me and act as though I do not exist. I've gotten used to that. Thank you High School.
