Not a fact checking question, more of a curiosity. I recently watched the first two episodes of Dino Thunder, and does anyone else get sort of a Indiana Jones meets Ross from Friends kinda vibe from "Dr." Oliver?

I never really watched Friends, so I can't confirm or deny your vibe feeling. But what I'm wondering is when the hell did Tommy get his degree? He never really mentions which college he went to or what year.

I think I know which one is Ross, but I dont get either feel from Tommy in DT. Maybe Indy, but just those first couple episodes.

Yeah no, I get an Indiana Jones vibe from Tommy, but definitely not a Ross vibe.

Which pre-Zyuranger show would you have liked to see as MMPR season 1?

I'm finally getting around to watching through the MMPR DVD set I got like two years ago, and I'm curious about something. Is there any significance to the footage of the Rangers wearing the helmets with the visible clips on the sides?

I know the new footage they filmed for MMPR used helmets like them, but I'm seeing way more footage with the clip helmets than I imagine they would have filmed just for MMPR.
Tommy is easily one of my favorite characters, but I do find the idea that he somehow had time to go off and get a phd and then went all Zordon to be kinda... ridiculous. Now, if he sort of went in a Mr. Miyagi direction, that I could understand.

Anything is theoretically possible, but honestly, I wouldn't count on it. I think our best bet for anything Apha related that's new is the movie.

When Ninninger gets adapted, do you think the episode "Shinobi 7: Spring Ninja Festival!" get adapted since it's a crossover episode? Kakurangers and Hurricanegers where already adapted in the PR universe, but I wonder how they will use Akaranger if they use him at all.

Depends. If there's money in the budget to bring back the actors, maybe. Or they could always go the cheap route and simply have someone else do the voice and leave them in-suit.

Chances are since there are no toys for those characters, I doubt there will be any emphasis on it to bring them in. If anything you might see the mentor brought back to give them the shurikens and that's it ... cheaper that way.

It would be rediculous when you remember that Sensei Kanoi isn't a gerbil anymore, but then again we did get the amazing suits from the show POWER RANGERS NEW POWERS and BLITZ NEW POWERS last season so who knows?

By the way, would you want to watch Power Rangers New Powers or Blitz New Powers?

I'd watch both if they were written well. Those suits and designs deserve better than "Oh here's some Power Ranger powers from aliens"

Heck I'd buy a boxset of the blasted Megaforce season for a chance to see NP/BNP.

More of a DVD question than a question about the shows themselves, so I'm not sure if anyone will have an answer for this.

Shout Factory has done a wonderfull job of releasing the first seventeen seasons of PR in some nice sets (1-3, 4-7, 8-12, and 13-17), but have there been any indications of them releasing the seasons beyond 17 in a set like these?

If not, has there been any indication that Megaforce and Super Megaforce might one day get complete season releases?

The problem is that everything prior to Samurai to current, Shout! Factory has has the rights to. Samurai to current seasons, Lionsgate Entertainment has the rights to. Both Samurai and Super Samurai got full season releases, I am not sure if Megaforce or Super Megaforce will get full season sets with Lionsgate. There hasnt been any indication otherwise.

Would kinda depend on the developer and style of game. I would certainly love to see a new Power Rangers game, but I don't think it would be easy to develop. Something along the lines of a Lego game would be great, imho.
That kinda sucks. Though they were able to include Samurai, Super Samurai, and Megaforce in their 20 years set. I was kinda hoping that, if I decide to get all of the 1-17 sets, that they would be able to do matching sets for seasons 18 and beyond.

Oh well... I just hope Megaforce, Super Megaforce, Dino Charge, Dino Supercharge, and future seasons all eventuall get full season sets.

Sure if it's not a gimmicky game like the ones for the Kinect. I wish we can get a Power Rangers game made for kids and older fans like the recent Transformers games like War for Cybertron.

That was solely for the Legacy Collection, as it is a 2000 limited set, Im not sure the details, but Lionsgate did let SF use those seasons just for the 20th anniversary set.

Thats not to say I would LOVE to see Shout! Factory take over DVD releases for PR.

I figured that was the case based on what you had posted.
They do tend to do some great DVD sets for the shows they handle.

Speaking of which, I just remembered that I caught a typo in the MMPR complete series set I have. In both the booklet and DVD case the 8th episode of the Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers is titled "Sowing the Seeds of Evil". Meanwhile the DVD's menu and the episode's title screen itself both say "Sowing the Seas of Evil". Nothing big, but it had me scratching my head for a minute.

Also, I love this set and what Shout Factory has been doing, but the "... And More!" bit for the bonus features feals rather disshonest now that I know the "... And More!" is just one more bonus feature that wasn't listed with the others on either the back of the box set or the bonus features case.

I think an RPG style game could be swesome for Power Rangers and thinking about it could be a cool way to allow for fan creations to become a thing in an AU type of thing.

It'll likely never happen, but is anyone else curious to know what a completely original (aka no Sentai footage) Power Rangers series would/could be like? We've got the MMPR movie, Lightspeed Rescue's Titanium Ranger, and the upcoming movie, but a whole series could be rather interesting.

Yeah! That would totally be cool with me. Having a new set of rangers (without copying from Japan) would make my day!

Did Saban not explain the pirate theme because he was afraid of how it would effect kids and anger parents? Did or should Saban apologize for ruining Super Megaforce? Is Saban soo stuck in the 1990s that he fails to relies he is using the show to reach a demographic of kids ( I hope I'm using that word right ) that are too grown-up to give a morph?

I think Saban may be stuck too far in the past. And if I remember correctly, no, they didn't offer an explanation for the pirate theme.

What do you mean? Maritime pirates with big hats and giant sailboats is commonly seen as a child's concept for, like, 50+ years. It's not an offensive concept and parents wouldn't be upset over it.

Saban is stuck in the past, but the pirate thing is the least of their problems.
