The mecha looks weird, it's kind of interesting but still weird. I just wonder how they are going to deal with that uni-leg thing. I mean in show what will it actually look like? As far as I can see now in the toy form, it seriously has very limited articulation.

The suits themselves are fairly simple. Gives me an athletic vibe to it. Need some better pictures before I can really say I like it or not.

Although I'm disappointed that it's the standard five person team now, the rumours had them as 3+2 or 3+3.

Other than the first three mecha which is Juou-Oh, i can see there is a Elephant, tiger, Giraffe and Gorilla mecha. So rumour is true Gorilla, Elephant and tiger become their own mecha, kind of odd then 2 rangers and 3 mecha for the combo. Or perhaps Red gets a second mecha quickly and leads the other mecha too.

I don't know why I didn't see it before. I saw a line-art drawing on Twitter, I retweeted, and this Mecha? It has a complete Aztec feel to the design. Top to bottom, like a big Aztec totem pole.

I did a drawing to try to get a better idea of what Jyuuou King will look like in the show. I had fun drawing him but I hope he doesn't end up any blockier than this.

That's actually the first thing I thought. Not super into Sentai, so I forgot to mention it, but yeah. Not sure why so little have picked up on that, instead whining that "IT'S MINECRAFT! IT'S MINECRAFT!"

People know what they want. They're not complaining that it's too different, they're complaining that it's poorly designed and presented.
If there was a sense of style to the robot beyond staking blocks, people would probably be all over it, since there are design cues that I can get behind. But it's so basic and dull that of course people would complain.

I would say you're missing a C, but you literally do stake blocks for this thing alone with stacking them.

I'm tired and really don't care, considering you were able to figure out what I was saying, then it doesn't really matter, anyway, so mission accomplished.

People don't want "different" they want better, which just happens to be different. "Different" means literally anything, that's such a weak attempt at mudslinging the opposition when it's clear what people actually want.

And honestly? I don't find this all too different. It's the folded up block animals like Shinkenger, the stacked totem-pole face thing as Goonger, and even the suit helmets feel very typical of Wild Force and Jungle Fury, but not as nicely lined as either of those helmet deisgns.

Personally if they had made a mecha that was just an aesthetic carbon copy of the Wilforce Megazord, I would've even be upset, because at least it'd be good. I really, really miss when Megazords actually had the components transform somewhat to combine. It's sad that the MMPR Megazord is more complex than the last... God, almost nine years of Mecha.

For me, I think the mecha are rather good design. That's mostly because I see them from their toy play value, and these just look like tons of fun.

Meh, I was iffy on the first blurry images, but now that I can see the suits and mech clearer, I like them. I shat on ToQger a bit when it was first revealed and ended up loving it, so I'm not making the same mistake twice.

Haha, thanks! It was just a warm up sketch but then I decided to color it because it seemed weird being black and white.

I see a lot of people commenting on how good/bad the helmets are, but...

Is it just me, or is JuuouEagle's the only one clear enough to fully decipher? I mean, I can see certain shapes in the others, and I can compose a vague picture of them in my head, but I admit that my brain is filling in a lot of the gaps.

Like, I can't make out anything on JuuouShark's face, and I can barely make out anything on JuuouTiger and JuuouElephant.

And from what I can see, I'm still not sure what the details are. Like, are Shark, Tiger, and Lion's visors their animals' mouths? If so, that would be really weird seeing as Eagle and Elephant's visors don't seem to be Eagle/Elephant mouths.

Don't get me wrong, I really really like the design of JuuouEagle's helmet, and the others look cool... I just think it's a bit early to be confident about what they're actually gonna look like.

Best to wait for the Terebi-kun scans etc.

Will Jyuuohger officially be revealed in Televi-kun's January issue or February issue?

I bet we are going to get a small picture of them on one of those magazines around the end of the year or early next month as ToQ vs Ninnin is drawing near. And February we get a whole plethora of pics and info typically.

....... Nope, not touching this one.... I do not care for the mecha designs, which normally is what draws me in to sentai every year.... Will this be the one year i dont watch the show at all?

I haven't watched a modern Sentai since Gokaiger. I have tried but usually tapped out after the first 5 or 6 episodes. I guess that tradition will continue in 2016.

Megazord looks straight outa minecraft.

One of the many things I love about it. It's finally a Megazord I can make 1:1 in Minecraft without it looking blocky. It's already blocky!

I warmed up to the mecha a little bit and I don't think the suits aren't offensively bad anymore, but that changer looks atrocious.

That logo right now is the best part about this series because Glob almighty I think Ninninger made me HATE Sentai.

Blocks everywhere and realistic faces for chest designs; they're not even trying anymore.

The suits have mildly (Very mildly) warmed up to me, but the mecha still makes me cringe.

The blocks are just ruining the series. Everyone is saying how the designs are a throwback to classic series, but the only part that doesn't seem to be a slap in the face is the retro-ish logo.

The whole cube thing is kind of dumb, but I'm willing to give this a chance. I've actually really enjoyed Ninninger, and it was nice actually watching a Sentai as it premiered, so I've been looking forward to this series. I do really love those suit designs too. I'm willing to give this show the benefit of the doubt because I feel like it'll work better in context. Who knows though..
