Geed November Scans
https://twitter.com/_Erasu/status/935137635718352897 Of note:
I gotta say, I think Ultimate Final could look a little better. The new head just looks a little too round which doesn't suit the new forward facing crest. I do love how he essentially has his own Giga Battle Nizer. |
Belial looks like he shrunk.

Those Ginga-S guys tower over Riku and the rest 😅

Fuck yeah, more Galactrons. King Galactron looks pretty dorky though. |

Uh... wow.
Kei really stepped his game up here. It's great to see him tone down the Game Master act and get serious again, because, as it turns out, he's very good at getting serious. |
I really liked Zero's flying kick to the face..
https://i.imgur.com/bowqH3V.png as well as his enormous sword 'Z' slash, that was pretty cool. Not sure why Riku and the gang just stand around doing nothing while she runs up with the briefcase. "Standing around doing nothing wont get you anywhere." |
Damn, Kei. That's messed up.
King Galactron is actually kind of cool and not QUITE as dorky as I originally thought based on pictures. Still a bit dorky though (those floppy shoulderpads). Zero's finisher on Galactron is the most Zero thing. It's pretty awesome. |

I know we're pretty far into Geed, but how is it?
I kinda stopped around episode 6 because of college and work. |
Geed is pretty awesome.
Of course I have a crush on Moa so I'm completely biased. Hahahaha |

I actually like Geed better than Orb I think. Orb was great, but if I look back at it, it had way less interesting characters than Geed.
Orb only really had Gai and Juggler. The support characters never stood out to me that much. Not that they weren't great, but Geed just has more. More faces and more interesting stories behind them. Geed also has the most focused story-line yet, previous Ultraman suffered a bit from villains appearing out of nowhere at the very end. X was the worst offender in that regard, Orb at least had a bit of a tie-in but Orochi was still just a rather mindless monster. Geed will also have a villain appear at the end, but it's Belial (or a form of Belial at least) who always had a hand in what was going on and appeared physically before. Kei is also an interesting antagonist, not as interesting as Juggler but still a well written and well portrayed bad guy. It's always hard comparing things that are this good, but for me, Geed is the best new-age Ultraman show yet. |
While I don’t really like to put the other two down because all three series have been by far and large the best toku shows of their respective year, I’d agree that Geed is a stronger series than X and Orb. Simply because it feels like it encapsulates both of their stronger qualities.
Orb dealt with a smaller cast and so had better character development as well as a properly developed villain. In comparison X was a much more “by the numbers” Ultraman show, but felt better connected with the wider universe with all its crossover elements (I know Orb had the cards, but the point stands). Geed has both of these things, and does them both very well. It’s also acting as a really good Ultraseven anniversary series without directly involving Ultraseven as well. Watching them side by side has really made me appreciate how many cameos they’ve thrown into Geed. |

I can't totally judge Geed because it hasn't finished, but I like it about as much as Orb so far. (which is a lot!) There are things Orb does better than Geed and vice versa so it sort of evens out.
I still like X the most out of the "New Generation" Ultras. |

Gosh I'm gonna be real sad when this show is over, but on the other hand, if it's just going to be 3 more episodes this good I'm glad it's ending on such a high note.
Crazy Skeleton Belial also looks extremely good on-camera. I'm shocked to say it, but they genuinely succeeded at making him look even creepier. |

bit of a twist there.
this show is so good. I'm going to be sad when it's over. Especially because that means no more Moa. |
Hm... as good as this episode was, Belial popping out of Arie was rather anticlimactic. I would've preferred it if he just came out of Kei himself. Like a Voldemort-kinda thing.
Anyways, now that the "setup" is done the finale can begin. 3 more episodes of this you say? Sounds awesome to me! |
Why must these shows be so short? I need more Moa and Laiha in my life. And....does this mean Arie is still dead? Or was she just a husk to begin with? Was she even real? UGH, so many questions. And holy crap, Kei turning massive and that fight was insane.
I love Atrocious' look. It makes that offset of his eyes so much more nasty. |
i really hope laiha doesnt die in the last episode.

Once again I struggle to find the words to describe how amazing an episode of Geed is. At this point the biggest reason I'm sad it's almost over is because once it ends I'll want to do a big post summarizing my thoughts on it as a whole, and I'll have no idea where to start.

when Leito was saying goodbye to his family and you realized why he gave them such a big day, (the restaurant, the cake and gifts),....some ninja ran through my house cutting onions. "what is this stinging in my eyes?"
This is like the third Ultraman show that summoned an onion cutting ninja in the final couple episodes. (Kamen Rider's got me a couple times too, actually.) Maybe I'm getting soft in my old age or something, but some of these shows hit some powerful emotional highs and lows if you care at all about the characters. ...or maybe I'm just a sucker when I see a woman crying like Leitos wife was. Her character seems like a great wife and a good woman. I actually wasn't even surprised she knew. They always know. Damn this show is good. I can't believe it's almost over. |
Man, this episode was on fire. Loved every single bit of it.
The parts with Leito were so good. |
It's weird, as I was finishing Ultraseven the other day I was thinking about how I wanted an Ultra to reveal themselves only for their teammates to reveal that they knew all along and just didn't say anything.
The stuff with Leito here delivered. Definitely the highlight of the episode for me. |
completely, excitedly and unequivocally agree
|
Oh man.....I'm in tears. This episode was so good.
