I haven't watched any of Boon, except for clips. From what I have seen, it's been a unique season for sure. And while the jackets aren't "traditional" holy crap does it not only look good, but totally fits the theme, especially since in racing Champion jackets exist.

Kiiiiiiinda want one. (Still want a BoukenRed or Lightspeed Rescue one more though)

It feels like a surprisingly nice modern take on old school super sentai, I think? Said it before but I think if the ending is considered satisfactory at the least the show could be a good entry show for those who want to get into super sentai but don't wanna watch the older shows. Off topic, given the fact that the director has worked on the Pokemon anime prior to this I can't help but see the Team Rocket trio whenever I see the villain lackeys. :lolol

Some folks on the Japanese boards have been saying it and I completely agree--while I don't think the combined form looks bad per se, it sucks that the "final toy" is just a truck, and doesn't even attempt to turn into a robot....

Considering half of the "Final Robot" position toys were just plastic boxes that you prop up on a pedestal and it "transforms" into a robot, it seems like something they could have easily achieved, and likely left it out because they're lazy.

SO, I'll be skipping this altogether. It's not Tomica heroes here, it's Sentai, so we need robots people.

Yeah, not disappointed personally, but they could've done something like a huge ship that can travel through outer space at the least considering ships are used to export cars to other countries in real life.

It's not as majestic as God KingOhger or other "every single mecha combines" final robos, that's for sure, but I actually kinda like it. The tire faces work as a way to emphasize that it's the whole team coming together without cluttering it up with everyone's cars.

One thing about all the Boonboomger Robo variations that bugged me at first but has grown on me a lot during the series is the use of negative space. The skinny limbs create space between the bigger shapes of the torso, lower legs and arm attachments, and the big power-ups (119 and Champion) both have armor that doesn't hug too close to the body and leaves empty space around it. And at first I thought that looked flimsy and awkward, but I've come to appreciate how it lets the robos be big without being bulky, whereas more "solid" designs would've seemed too heavy and slow for the Boonboomgers' racing theme.

You know, I'm starting to like this. Also, I just realized the cannons are a hydrogen car, not a water tank. :lolol

Technically, the DX Robo Universe toyline IS part of BoonBoomger's lineup.

Meaning even if the Champion form doesn't quite work, we have almost fifty years of mecha to draw from.

Based on the new poster, looks like Gokai Oh might be next. Toei are prioritizing their most profitable shows and I recall CarRanger was a financial failure, sadly. Maybe we could get Turbo Robo though, if there's demand for it.

And I bet Kenta Sato would be glad to reprise his role if the stars align considering he still has that jacket from 1989 and he's the OG car-themed red ranger. If he doesn't end up appearing, at least we got Sosuke a while back so I'm happy with this show.

There may be no Super Hero Time this week but that won't stop Toei from teasing us more with the Final Lap.

Haruhi Iuchi's agency senpai Yuuki Yamada reprised his role of Joe Gibken/Gokai Blue in ep 43.

The sales figures for Boonboomger have its final gross at 5.6 billion yen, 200 million more than King-Ohger, but 200 million less than Donbrothers.

Its sad Super Sentai's toys sales have fallen by more than half in the last decade. I guess its to be expected with Japan's low birth rate and falling population.

I don't think Japan's declining birth rate is THAT big of a factor. Ultraman has been consistently outperforming Sentai for quite a few years now, and Kamen Rider is still a toy sales juggernaut (Gavv had the worst first quarter for a KR series since W, yet that first quarter still outperformed Boonboomger's entire year).

1) It's stuck in a terrible time slot (it's still competing directly against One Piece for a couple more months).
2) This is just conjecture, but I truly believe Sentai has been parodied so often (even by Toei themselves) that the actual series formula looks stale to the average audience.
3) Losing the Power Rangers connection overseas hurt this franchise a lot.

Wow you're correct. Sentai sales went from being half of KR to a fifth.
