Haters gonna hate the awesomeness that is Goseiger

The fact that you guys think Eri can go off and a bake a cake without helping her team battle, and the team can still win, only further highlights how useless you guys think she is as well.

Nobody said they could win the battle without her help. The only thing that was said was that the Goseiger wouldnt loose without her and they didnt. The thing is though that they didnt win either until she joined them.
They could stand up against the Monster and buy some time so Eri could fulfill her duty as a Gosei Angel and make the cake to protect the happiness of the little boy. |

Timeranger Episode 1
First things first...the opening is mother fucking awesome. It's a bit weird not having Ransik in the show, as he's who I grew up with and. Especially considering it's Don as the main baddie. If it was Gien it wouldn't be as weird. Speaking of weird, Gien can turn into a human? That's pretty cool. And I see Lila wears the same ice cream outfit Nadira did. I like Tock. There was nothing wrong with Circuit to me, so I like both equally. Though I will admit Tock's voice is not as annoying. I do like how before the rangers were sent back in time they were given clothes to match the period as well as information about it. It's still a fish out of water story, but at least it's somewhat realistic. Wouldn't a force of time police want to uniform their soldiers for the period they're going to as well as give them information to help them fit in and know what's going on? Timeforce didn't do that, they just through them right into it like "Here you go." I am curious though how the time machine landed on the beach, but yet the prison wound up in the forest. What did the crash just send it flying? Then again, maybe they used that teleportation device they used to appear in front of the machine. I like how they did the whole Tatsuya/finding red angle. I like how he just happened to be in the right (or wrong at first) place at the right time and went to help them and wasn't just discovered at random. It's also nice that he gradually gets use to the technology they have and is weirded out by it all, whereas Wes was like "Oh cool." Plus thank you Sentai for not doing the whole "He's my lover in another time" aspect. Seriously I always disliked that part of Time Force. I'm cool with the ancestry bit, but the fact that in TF it was one of the rangers' lovers was pretty dumb and was only really there for character development for Jen as well as some romantic moments. Plus this means that Tatsuya becoming a ranger is much more by chance and simply because he was there. I'm hoping this allows for some great development for him in having to prove that he can actually be a part of the group and wasn't just chosen because he was there. Also once again, this is handled better then Time Force, mostly because this isn't based in that ancestry lover DNA bull crap. I am curious though how they knew what colors they'd be getting. I know it's obvious pink would be the girl, but these things aren't color coordinated to know by just looking at it. Ayase could have ended up being pink just because he picked that Chrono Changer at random. What's with the pre ranger suits though? They look, weird. Regardless, the henshin is awesome looking. :lol Don has a throne to ride as the Zenitts cause havoc. Too funny. The first fight is freaking amazing! It's nice and compact, giving the viewer enough action and energy to get you pumped up. This goes in both the fist fight and the fight once they start using the weapons. Plus, you gotta love that slow motion action. It's a bit odd looking at times, but god is it cool! All in all, this was a great first episode. It gave you all you need in one; a clear set story, characters that are easily identifiable with their personalities, the conflict of the show, and great action sequences. All I can say is, AWESOME! Oh, the ending theme, EPIC! Timeranger Episode 2 I love Tatsuya's reaction to them telling him their from the future. Yuri's though is even better. She isn't taking shit from nobody, especially present boy. Their logic is pretty sound though. Tatsuya doesn't really know fully what's going on, nor does he have the training to be part of the group. I mean obviously this is BS since he's in the rest of the series, but still, it makes some sense. I like how the villains have this mob family feel to them. It's really a nice touch. I like the whole betting thing Tatsuya and his father seem to do in order to decide the future. It's a bit weird that he would just let Tatsuya take over a delicate situation such as handing over money to prevent the city being blown up, but eh you gotta do what you gotta do to get your point across in an episode at times. Ahhh, I love Tatsuya's little speech. It's great. How exactly could this one city produce five billion yen as easy as that? The ranger fight was pretty good. But the mecha fight was plain great. I do wonder though, if the police were dispatched to handle the monster on the ground, why didn't they deploy the military to try and fight it off as a giant? I think it's safe to say that the Timerangers have the better diggs then Time Force. In the end, another great episode. It helped move the story along and gave more important information. Simply awesome. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Timeranger is just plain awesome, and I'm only two episodes in. I'm loving what I'm seeing and will definitely keep watching, especially since I finally have the whole series almost in subbed format. The first two episodes set the story up very very well. It in lightning flash style told you everything you need to know; who the villains are, what they're goal is thus resulting in the conflict of the series, who the Timerangers are, their own conflict for the series to go on about, and introduced their arsenal in a fairly nice manner. Each ranger is very nice, and have their distinctive personalities visible from the get go. Sion is the youthful and hopeful one whose happy to be with his comrades, Domon is the goofy yet serious one, Ayase the serious arrogant cocky one, Yuri the cold/deadly serious leader with a bit of a femme fatale feel to her, and Tatsuya the other hopeful one who is serious when needed. Out of the group, Yuri is definitely my favorite. I don't really have much to say about the villains at the moment. For now, they're simply alright. The Timeranger suits are pretty nice. Simplistic but effective. They have both a futuristic as well as military feel to them, which is good considering what the story is about and all. All in all, nice suits though we've yet to get to one of my favorite designs of all time. I love the Double Vectors, they just look so freaking awesome. The Vulcans though I'm not that big of a fan of. They're a little too big for my tastes. The mecha is of course awesome. They're two of my favorite designs in the whole franchise. It's still weird though how they pilot the thing, but since it's a robo from the future I'll just give it a slight pass. The themes...pure badassery. The OP is one of the best and one of my favorites, and the ED IS my favorite of all time. All in all, I'm in love with Timeranger after the first two episodes. I love the story, I love the characters, I'm digging everything about it. Just one last thing. What's with all the doves!? Did John Woo make the series or something!? |
You see why I like this series so much? :lol
Also, the doves are a symbol of freedom and freedom (specifically the freedom from fate and destiny more specifically defying it) is one of the many overarching themes of the series as well as Time Force which is why I love Time Force almost as much as I do Timeranger. P.S. Yuri... just Yuri. :D |
Ahhh, that makes more sense. I still like to think it's a John Woo homage though :lol
And yes, Yuri is just well, Yuri. Definitely up there as one of my favorite heroines. |
I thought Time Ranger only had like ten episodes subbed?

I'm in the same boat as Suzu, I watch multiple series at a time. Though I try to focus on just one Sentai and Rider.

Time Ranger 01.
Holy shit, are those...black people?! I absolutely love the way the future looks, shame it can't all be set there and we have to come to the present day, and return back to Japan's bland xenophobia - of course the Japanese instructor picks an entirely Japanese team. The production values were pretty great through out, loved the henshin sequence, their crazy bullet time skillz and the sheer amount of carnage the villains got up to. It's just a shame the first run with the weapons was motion blurred to the point where I couldn't see a bloody thing. Not sure how I feel about the Red though. I tried so hard to not think about Time Force, my favourite Saban era Power Rangers show, but I just couldn't detach myself from the choice of Red in this show. It just seems so random to just pick some ancestor of some dude and throw him right into the battle by chance, especially as the leader. |

Well they did the same thing with Wes. They picked him because he was Alex's ancestor, and thus had his DNA to unlock the morpher. Personally I like the Timeranger version better.
|
They never explain the DNA lock in this show, and the ancestor isn't nearly as integral or woven into the narrative. He's the ancestor of a random dude.

Akibaranger 08
And why do I feel the oncoming freight train of feels about to run me over and squish me flat? What can I say that isn't spoilerific.. The first Cannon Assemble! And that thing is awesome. And Alpaca has to be one of the best designs I've seen yet, and totally looks like something Lady Candilera would make :lol Oh I sense feels a-commin'.... |
I just started in on Hurricanger. I wouldn't say it was because of Nao Nagasawa.
(It was because of Nao Nagasawa.) :D |

Starting Hurricanger episode four. I love how they're kind of a bunch of screw-ups to start with. While the robot fights are a tad bit underwhelming so far, the individual mech designs are pretty nifty. Unfortunately, I just realized I don't have any of the movies and it looks like 10 Years After and Abaranger vs Hurricanger seem to be the only ones readily available. Edit: The cutaway effects during the big mech merge are pretty neat, too. I do find myself wondering if Wendinu ever actually does anything besides fire her bazooka and explain its effect. Now, on to episode 6! |
So far I've watched all of: Zyuranger, Magiranger, Gokaiger, Goseiger, Jetman, Gekiranger, Shinkenger, Dekaranger, and Go-Busters. All AMAZING Sentais. Which one next peeps?
