Some new Venom movie news
http://comicbook.com/marvel/2017/12/...hal-protector/ I still hope the Venom movie will be good. They mention the movie is inspired by movies from Cronenberg and Carpenter. I think a superhero movie that is a throw back to 80's horror like The Fly and The Thing could be awesome if it is done right. |

I watched the Inhumans this past week.
Worst show I've seen in a very long time. How the people making it didn't realize that what they were making was such a failure on almost every level astounds me. |
I think it's because no one really wanted to make Inhumans beyond Marvel's head, who wanted to supplant the X-Men.
|
I don't think that's much of a determinant. They've managed to turn Z-list characters into breakout successes. Inhumans could have fared better. They just needed to hire competent people who knew how to write.
At least Scott Buck is off the Iron Fist train. That show was its own can of awful (though still a masterpiece compared to Inhumans) |
Ludi Lin as Shang-Chi. Thoughts?

So X-Men Blue has been fun. After paying the 2099 X-Men a visit they seemingly go to the 90s when Generation X was a thing.
And Punisher is just... wow. |
So I did the same with the DC thread, what were your top 10 favourite series/titles (or at least as many as you can think). Mine are:
1) Thanos 2) Daredevil (Legacy) 3) Moon Knight 4) Peter Parker:The Spectacular Spider-Man (Legacy) 5) Cable 6) X-Men Blue 7) U.S. Avengers 8) Astonishing X-Men 9) Star Wars Darth Vader 10) Jean Grey |
Well, mine would be:
1) X-Men Grand Design: Ed Piskor's art is unique and amazing. So amazing that majority of the panels should probably be printed and framed as pop art. And its attempt to recap what has been going on so far since the 60s is just fun. READ IT. I HUMBLY KNEEL DOWN ON MY KNEES AND BEG YOU ALL TO DO SO. IT IS THAT. GOOD. 2) X-Men Blue 3) Black Panther 4) The Punisher(the current arc in particular where he goes GTA V with War Machine armor) 5) All New X-Men 6) Infamous Iron Man 7) Squadron Supreme 8) Champions 9) Marvel Legacy: Wolverine and All-New Wolverine 10) Cable |
Jessica Jones season 2. Finished it this morning. It was certainly different.
But I really liked it. There was no real villain (you could probably argue for Alisa or even Trish), but that was cool with me. Everyone had their demons and they had to deal with them, for better or worse. Jess I think ends in a good place. She went through hell again, but seems like she knows what she was doing wrong and is trying to move on. Don't look forward to her inevitable larger conflict with Trish though. Likewise with Malcolm, glad to see he's in a good place at the end. I hated seeing he substituted one addiction for another, and I still don't like the guy he's working with now (especially partnering with Jeri). But he's developed so much and it's great. Fuck Jeri. Didn't like her subplot and this reminded me how horrible she is, which I had actually forgotten after her small appearances in the other shows. And Trish... Oh man, Trish. We got Hellcat I guess. But she's still totally an addict and kind of a bitch now. I don't disagree with her actions at the end necessarily - Alisa couldn't be controlled despite what Jess thought - but it also didn't have to be her... and her path to getting powers was not her really trying to be a hero, just an extension of her addictive and jealous tendencies. Hope she can get redeemed later, though it'll be hard. |
Ooh, new infinity war trailer.
*presses play and watches trailer* YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSS*HEAD EXPLODES* |
That trailer was really, really cool (although not very refreshingly made, as in like: trailers these days all work by the same tropes). I loved how we got to see more interactions between the characters from different movies (mainly old Avengers cast+new characters) - that's what it's all about, after all.

I saw Avengers last night so now I've seen every MCU movie
|
I still need to watch Black Panther. I'm done watching the MCU movies, but my friend of mine told me that he loved it. He has been reading comics since the 80's and hates the MCU movies, but he said it was really good.

Black Panther is really enjoyable, and Killmonger is a great villain.
Even if you don't give a shit about the MCU, I'd say Black Panther is a really good superhero movie in general. |
I’m severely behind on the MCU. I still need to see Doctor Strange-onwards.

I will let you decide whether to bellow YASS or howl NO. |
You won't hear me bellow or howl, all I say is "Meh". A Venom movie without Spider-Man was a dumb idea from the start, the trailer is generic and boring as hell, and the overall movie looks like a straight to home video production.
The movie might actually be decent but I really don't give a fuck. I will probably watch this on demand in like 5 years and then forget that it exists immediately after. |

Speaking of Infinity War, I'm watching it tomorrow, I'll post thoughts and the amount of post credits scenes. All I will say as I eagerly wait is that I will scream "Woooo!" when Thanos inevitably kills Vision because I do NOT like Vision |
Been trying to get caught up on all the MCU films before Infinity War. Apart from various cinema trips over the years I hadn't actually seen many of the films, but DVD and rental purchases have changed that recently and as I type this I am currently watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Really enjoying this so far, although Rocket Rackoon is stealing the show.
Also, Tazerface looks a bit like Mr. T for some reason... |
I think the trailer looks cool so far. Venom looks better than he did in Spider-Man 3.
|
So... Avengers Infinity War is pretty amazing.
Might be one of the best crossovers I've ever seen. |
Your first MCU X-Men movie dream cast
|
Honestly, I just wanna see Wolfsbane in a movie. She was always one of my favorite X-Men.
|
Tom Hardy as Wolverine maybe?
|
I’d pick the O5 to be in the movie, leave Wolverine for a sequel. As for the actors... I got no clue, maybe the guy who played Steve in Stranger Things as Cyclops?

Do you think they'll keep Dafne Keen?
|
I legit forgot Maisie was playing Wolfsbane in the New Mutants movie.
...Here's to hoping they don't fuck it up. |
Not even a week in theaters and Infinity War has already passed $800 million box office.
|
Just saw Infinity War on Tuesday, and it was amazing. I won't go into spoilers but yeah, go see it.
|
If MCU releases a Thunderbolts movie which character would you like to see make the cut?

I was gonna say the Mac Gargan Venom as Spider-Man, but then I remembered he was a Dark Avenger, not a Thunderbolt :lol
It would be cool to see Atlas, though. I'd love some Kaiju level fights between him and Scott~ |
I was thinking Zemo from Civil War as Citizen V and make it his redemption story.
