So i watched the first episode of Marvel disk wars, not bad. From what i hear Spiderman hangs around the characters a lot which i like, Spiderman is probably the only comic book superhero that i can consider myself a fan of.
I hope this gets a dub at some point. |
Gundam 0080 War in the pocket
This was boring. The phrase that people say to describe the beginning of the series is literally better to give a plot then this first episode. |
Plastic Nee-san
...I need a doctor after watching this, or a therapist. |

Folgore, the man who sings about groping and yet still gets the attention of ladies. How does he do it?

I watched the first 9 minutes, it makes as much sense as the average tokunation thread. Edit: and i'm done, that was stupid, silly and completely nonsensical. And oh god the tennis sequence. :lolol |

The first five episodes show a lot of love for the source material, and at least a somewhat understanding of the characters also. Then episode six happens and all the superheroes may as well be completely original, and terribly written, characters done by a fourteen year old on fanfiction.net. |

And I think Cap was handled well, Tony and Thor existed I guess, they were rather pointless in that ep. |

Star Driver.. and I still can't believe that's Haruka Tomatsu. It's so not Candelira but still so completely epic :lol

Gundam 00 episode 15
Damn, this episode went all out on the action. Makes up for the lack of action these past few. It was actually pretty smart how the world governments almost got Celestial Being. And CB actually seemed prepared this time. Unlike last time where the HRL caught them with their pants down. This episode showed that the Gundams weren't invincible and enough stresses on the pilot and enough mobile suit and dividing the team could weaken them eventually. I like that, it makes it more realistic. And not realistic in a sort of "I like my fiction that way" sort but as in a logical element in shows with actual military weapons compared to super robot shows. I didn't like that Spider thing that Ali-Al Sachez had for his suit as it went down kinda easy but its a big entrance so whatever. Aw.... the love of Setsuna's life saved him. The Gundam. |
Hehe, Steins;Gate mentioned Mandarake.

Gundam 00 episode 16
A clip show? GUNDAM 00! WHY U DO DIS TO ME!?!?!?!?! Outside of the first 5 minutes this episode is worthless. I can understand clip shows in the preinternet age but this show was in 2007. We have wikis and blogs remember shit for us. Episode 17 This episode has english subtitles for a dub that don't even match what's being said? Okay... And so begins probably my favorite Gundam story arc ever, one of epic proportions and whose long lasting impacts affects the fate of many people and the world as we know it. So we get to meet the Trinity siblings and something is off about them. They don't tell anybody jack shit and Nena might be interfacing with Veda? I'm trying to remember what the backstoy of these guys was from the show but I couldn't so I am as lost as a new viewer. Oh and they fuck up an entire American base all because one scientist is figuring out the GN drives. Shows how messed up things are and will get later on. Oh and Jupiter ship. Because every Gundam show has to have Jupiter ships thrown in somewhere. The Gundam Thrones are really interesting suits. I didn't care for their designs my first go around by I am starting to like them more and more. They all have the same base body but with different back packs with weapons, heads and neck areas. For some reason, I think that Zwei is just Kyrios done in that style. Episode 18 That was some fucking depressing shit. I'm not spoiling it for you but this is the moment that defines the rest of the series. You are going to fucking hate the Trinties after this. Episode 19 Pretty much setup for the season 1 endgame. We see some GN drives at the end of the episode and now know who the Trinities are reporting to . So much foreshadowing in this episode. The line "Change this twisted world in my place." Means so much now. |

Gundam 00 episode 20
Fuck yeah GN-X! Also, fuck you Wang Lu Mei. Episode 21 Shit, they actually are near on par with the Gundams. But look who showed up last minute to save Tieria? The dude piloting the GN Arms. Yay! More toys. Is it just me or is Tieria romanticizing too much about Veda? I know that its explained in the second season by his origin but seriously dude, you are too obsessed with this computer program. |
Finished Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi. The world hopping explanation and ending were a bit of a dud, but it was a really fun series. Great protagonists and the writers really went to town on the parodies, references and homages.

Gundam 00 episode 22
CLOCK UP! ...I'm sorry,I had to make that joke. And I don't care if its a reference to fucking Char Aznable if he's glowing red and is really fast. Clock Up is a better comparison. Its also a big Deus Ex Machina too but hey. I was finally glad to see the Trinities offed. But it sucks that Ali al Sachez did it and not Celestial being proper. Why did the Thrones go down so fucking easily? Zwei was in the same condition as Eins yet Sachez fucking killed him while Celestial Being with 4 Gundams in better conditions can't? Wait, so Aeolia Shenberg masterminded Alejandro's masterminding of the world governments and celestial being? The fuck? Also, more endgame set up and whatnot. |
Are watching Salior Moon franchise where I am currently now in Sailor Moon S:)
I am also watching "The woman called Mine Fujiko", which I see in the darkXD |

Gundam 00 episode 23
The feels man.... until season 2. The military actually didn't do a whole lot. I mean they roughed up the Gundams enough for CB to be in a worse position but the Throne Zwei did most of the damage. They really brought out the toys for this one. The new armor for Kyrios and Virtue, the GN arms for Exia and Armor for Dynames. But those armors are so dumb. It's like a bad internet joke. 'Yo dawg, I heard you like mobile suits. So I gave your mobile suit a mobile suit so it can intervene while it intervenes.' |

Gundam 00 episodes 24 and 25
Man, this ending was both a cliffhanger and anticlimatic. I'm glad that the Earth now has one uniform federation and that the villains got thier cumupins but people survived. I could give two shits less about the gold mobile suit at the end. And that Graham Aker fight was so forced. I get the guy has a rivalry with the Exia, but making it the last fight of the season just doesn't do it for me. Overall thoughts Overall, Gundam 00 season 1 is very forgettable and episodic but still a good show. Before, you go type a response, let me explain. While the grey morality, the struggle and unification of the 3 blocs and the armed interventions were very interesting, 00 season 1 just doesn't have that many memorable arcs or is memorable. Considering the fact that most of the major characters survive into season 2 the finale arc accomplished nothing. But, I wouldn't have all of the great season 2 stuff without these great characters, so I can't have it either way. A lot of the episodes before the Trinity arc are one episode stories. Celestial Being intervenes, the military adapts as a result and bring that with them to the next intervention, e.t.c. Which isn't a bad thing, I've seen shows that could do jack shit with an episode's worth of time (glares at Kamen Rider Wizard). What I'm trying to say is, personally, when I think of Gundam 00, I think of season 2. It's still a damn good show though. The art and animation is beautiful, the pacing is perfect and every episode, the story moves. It creates a unique identity, not being beholden to past series, yet building a path towards a better world. I personally like season 2 more just because of there being ton more of character arcs in that season and the fact that half had the better designs makes that memorable. If you're going into season 1 expecting a good final villain, go watch season 2 or even the movie. Alejandro Corner is the most forgettable Gundam villain ever. He doesn't even become a "badguy" until the last 5 episodes. The ELS from the god damn movie had more uniqueness and personality to them then this fucker. And that movie was 2 hours. I used to think that the Innovades from season 2 were generic villains until I remembered this guy. |
I watched episodes 2 and 3 of Marvels Disk wars.
I like how the little boy took down Loki. I also like how the characters say English sentences every once in a while. |
Disk wars episode 5.
I freaking love this Thor design. Something tells me the pacing of this show is gonna be really slow. It's episode 5 and only now is the second member of the group is actually doing something. |
Son of a bitch... Just watched Nobunaga The Fool 20.
WHAT IS WITH JAPAN'S OBSESSION OVER MAKING KING ARTHUR FEMALE!?!?! |
Should I watch After War Gundam X? Is it good or not?
|
I have never watched X, but I have heard it was not that good. There is a reason it was canned after 30 something episodes. On the other hand, it is only 30 something episodes, so you wouldn't be spending as much time with it as you would with other Gundam series.

Gundam 00 season 2 episode 1
Season 2 gets a lot of shit for having the same overall plot outline as Zeta Gundam. (Big Earth government creates an unethical military force and a small group of heroes have to fight them.) But I feel like there's enough of a post-9/11 flavor to it to make it different. Damn Setsuna, as expressionless as you've always been. But speak up when Saji asks you about shit the Thrones did. Fuck yeah Seravee! And Louise is now a prescripted medication addict. Its time to get the band back together. oh and Lockon's death was pointless when he conveniently had a twin brother. I know they show him in season 1 but in every flashback, its just one kid. Maybe if Lyle was off in the corner of the flashbacks then I would be cool with it. Episode 2 For once, I can actually get behind Setsuna obsessing over his Gundam. The 00 is probably one of if not the best designed Gundam ever and its debut was so beautiful. Fuck yeah Seravee! Face Burst mode is as badass as I remember. When Ms. Sumeragi was staying at Billy's was that implicit that she was having sex with him too? Also, nice going Setsuna, telling everybody about who's apart of Celestial Being. First Saji last episode and now Billy this episode. The hell? |

I don't know of many instances where Japan did it, but if they did it a ton of times, like you say...I totally see your point. |

No, it pretty much felt like they genderbent him for the sake of doing it. Caesar literally calls her his "Aphrodite" and her gender was revealed just for the sake of getting him back to her side because of her beauty... Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Zero's Saber - also known as King Arthur/Arturia - is everywhere. She's insanely popular. And that's just the anime. There's also more games than just Stay Night that feature her. So it's been done before. And yes, she's a badass at times... but also literally just the clichéd love interest at others. Make your own female character if you want to show a powerful one. Genderbending King Arthur, who was most definitively male, to "create" one and then just resort to sex appeal... Nah, I don't like it. |
Speaking of the Fate series, they're releasing a dub of Fate/ Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya. Basically it takes place in an AU of Fate/Stay Night and it's also a magical girl type show.

Disk Wars 07. Ed is a fucking brat.
Spider-Man reaches his lowest point, only to spring back at his most badass. He's still a pretty poor imitation of a great character though, draining out all of his depth and leaving behind a poorly animated piece of cardboard, who has his cool moments every now and then. God this shows iteration of Cap though, IS AMAZING. I mean he takes on Hulk in a test of endurance, THE HULK. Sadly amongst all of that they also tried to make Wasp relevant - it doesn't work, she sucks. I'll be honest I never much cared for her in the comics as she was just as regularly upstaged there by a guy who could turn into a friggin' giant. |

So, aside from that, how would you rate Nobunaga the Fool so far? I'm interested in checking it out. |
Quote:
Pretty much. :lol Well, it is Cap we are talking about, he's used to that. :p I like Wasp, and I hope they give her a better role than simply battle support, but in this case it was well executed. |
