Did they say WHEN the Professor gives you a Kanto Starter though?

Because back in HeartGold you could get Kanto & Hoenn starters after the Elite 4 battles. IF we have to wait that long again it'll be very disappointing.

I think they said at the start of the game.

if that is true then the will greatly affect what Gen VI starter I choose....just show the the final forms so I can have an easier time picking one. -_-

They never said specifically, but it was along the lines of 'in x and Y things are little different, you get one of the starter Pokemon from the Kalos region from your friend, and then professor sycamore gives you one of the original starters from red and green to take on your journey too.'

So yeah, sounds like it'll be near the start or second town along type thing =]

You get it after you get your new starter.You get the new starters from your friends,you get the originals from Sycamore when you get to Luminose.

But why? Why do you set 2 starters? Am I going to have 3 Starters in this Gen? Doesn't that ruin some of the dynamic?

Yellow had 4 starters, it's not exactly something new.

Gift Pokemon are common in a lot of the games; its just never really been Starters before at such an early point.

And sometimes an unexpected shakeup in the dynamic is just what a franchise needs to keep going. Just look at Gaim.
