Not much to say here
It's Lightning Gundam with a backpack. Well short and simple to the point, I think he looks better and the backpack is more sturdy than his Mk. 1 backpack, and the connection port is easier to plug in as well. You can also connect his backpack to his rifle for that one scene during the battle with SxDxG team. Also note his backpack is heavier so a stand is a must, his legs just cannot stand up well with all the weight on the back I tried both of my Lightning's and it's their legs. https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...3b4eddc7175666 https://scontent-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/hp...33&oe=55710184 https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.n...306e876ecf5e51 |
Holy crap that fight was AMAZING, it's refreshing to see Team Try Fighters actually struggle with an opponent it definitely makes the victory for this one feel earned.
The way the fight ended reminded me of the Amazing Kampher VS GM Sniper K9 fight from last season. |

So I finished both my Star Winning Gundams, and well it was pretty cool.
SD - So I think he's really lacking here, If I had to choose? The 1st Winning Gundam was much better. The feet and legs of the Star Winning is just really weird and won't stable unless you have the backpack on. It also can't hold it's weapon in it's gun form due to the sheer size the weapon it self. As an SD, I very much prefer the 1st Winning Gundam. I mean the 1st Winning Gundam had better leg and feet articulation than the current Star Winning. Real Mode/HG Size - Now this is where the kit really shines, Bandai really did the whole transformation done great. A few things might come off awkward here and there, but you gotta remember you can't expect crazy articulation since it's a transforming SD. Everything is really stable in this form which was to my surprise. Even the SD head in backpack form doesn't weigh it that much down. For the articulation it's as if Bandai saw the 1/144 No grade/1st grade kits and try to meet half way with a HG kit. It's not spectacular but it surely gets the job done. Cons for both forms - Sticker Heavy (it's an SD kit so you gotta expect a lot of stickers) - The Gun is purely all grey and not anime accurate a lot - Both backpack heavy, but not all to much. Do you Love Fumina Hoshino? Is she your Waifu? Then get this kit. If you want another cool SD that can transform into a 1/144 scale gundam go with this kit. If you just want a SD kit alone? Pass and just buy the 1st winning Gundam. https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.n...3f94366b984290 https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.n...77a8f66340740f |

TRY BURNING GUNDAM!!!!!
Finally I now have my favorite Gundam upgraded in hands. So yea basically if you have Build Burning it's pretty much exactly the same except for more flame effects parts. I do like the look of it as gunpla kit more than it's anime counter-part in action. It really makes for a cool display piece. So yea get him if you dig him. https://scontent-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/hp...d2&oe=558241D3 https://scontent-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/hp...04&oe=5575C096 |
How hard is it to pose with all the flames attached? Do they limit posing/fall off constantly?
|
Team Try Fighters, and Their Upgrades counter-parts. I'll take better pics of my updated collection once Gundam X arrvies.

But seriously out of all the upgrades from Try Fighters I enjoyed Star Winning Gundam Real Mode the most. It's just a really cool neat design makes me wish there was a full on HG kit of it.

Who's ready to finally watch Turn A Gundam? Pre-orders your now at rightstuf.com. Releasing on June 30th.
http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/cat...m/105253/4/0/0 https://scontent-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/hp...d9&oe=558ACA4C For 2000 years, a separate race of humanity has lived on the moon. Known as "the Moonrace," their technology is leaps and bounds beyond those that stayed behind on the Earth's surface. Now seeking to return to their original home, the Moonrace send three teenagers - Loran, Keith, and Fran - down to Earth on a reconnaissance mission to test the viability of its environment. After spending a year on Earth, Loran has become good friends with Sochie and Kihel, daughters of the prestigious Heim family, and he looks forward to fully integrating into Earth society. But before Loran gets the chance to make his report, the Moonrace launch a surprise attack. Earth's primitive airplanes are no match for the superior power of the Moonrace's mobile suits. However, in the midst of the initial attack, Loran and Sochie uncover a long-forgotten relic: a white mobile suit. As a Moonrace, Loran is quickly able to grasp the basics of piloting it, but by doing so, he inadvertently places himself in the middle of a war. Contains episodes 1-25. Special Features: Clean Opening and Closing. Spoken Languages: Japanese, English subtitles. Righstuf commented on the future of Gundam Home Blu-Ray/DVD home released for the Western side, and why there is no current plans for Blu-Rays of Turn A. http://i.imgur.com/ZeJCcLG.png |

I've seen Turn A subbed by fan groups before and loved it. But owning official DVDs is like a dream. Must own.
|
Hmm, doesn't look like importing through Right Stuf is difficult. Maybe I'll pick this up after all.
|
Sure why n- Oh right, moving.
|
Ohhhh snap. I didn't realize that Right Stuff also has the Origin Blu-Ray Volume 1 set up for sale.
|
I'm REALLY tempted by that Origin Bluray (well, the UK version of it anyway). It's a lot to pay for one OVA but man was it a superb one. Plus the extra stuff is fantastic.
|
Excuse me for sounding like Former, but I'm probably gonna end up buying 3 Tryon 3s now...

I'm thinking about customizing the third one Either into GaoGaiGar or G-Elements from Xenogears... |

Oh well I can always be crazy and buy four of them. |
GGG is everywhere. It has had countless toys released for it. G-Elements would be more original.
I'm thinking about getting a Star Winning Gundam. I know nothing about the series and don't usually do 1/144, but I like the cut of its jib. I'd probably paint all the green "gems" instead of using decals and paint all the yellow plastic gold. |

Yeah...you're not crazy :p |
I'm not a fan of rightstuf's ridiculous pricing, but $33 for the forst half of Turn A preorder is actually a decent deal
|
Quote:
For future pre-orders and such, RightStuf is best at it. But once things goes lower in prices or older, or fans have no interest in certain titles you can argue either RightStuf or Amazon has the better pricing. Sunrise are just being meanies about the pricing of the Gundam Origins and before Gundam Unicorn. But hey at least we can have Gundam home release for us. |
Quote:
I honestly just want uniformity with Gundam releases. Unicorn is only available digitally on PSN. The only option to get to buy Turn A is on dvd. With a lot of recent series like 00 and build fighters only being avaliable online via youtube. Why it all can't be on one or two platforms, I don't know. |
