You say throwaway, I say establishement. It's one of the reasons W is so loved is because it so much of a story that develops from humble beginnings. Skull, Shroud, Foundation X. There's so much to the series besides W and the badguys themselves. W is two guys against a funded organization. The story is supposed to be how this unexpected element comes in and throws a wrench in the works. I mean, not to kind of give away the entire building symbolism, but that's why Shotaro's main memory is Joker. (As in joker in the deck, the trump card)

I guess the difference is, I'm a movie fan more than I am a TV fan. In two hours an entire universe can be established, populated and destroyed, so I despise TV shows that stretch out everything to paper thin levels. They did not need to waste ten episodes on such little establishment.

But you can't judge a movie and a TV show to the same standards, though.
A movie doesn't have to insert a fight scene every 10 minutes, for example. It gets better focus to set up what it needs to set up without having to hit some kind of quota...

So in the time W took to set up one thing, another set of films had established entire universes, populated them with characters and destroyed them three times over.

Finished Den-O. Really loved the last episode and the fact that Sieg once again just sorta came back out of nowhere. So overall, awesome series, though if I.have one main gripe, it's that the villains are underdeveloped. I still don't know what Kai's full deal was, other than he was just some psychopath.

Anyway, I know Den-O has a shitload of movies, left so I'll check those out eventually.

Also checked out the first four episodes of Kiva. It took some getting used to the new tone and format. And while it wasn't boring, I admit that I wasn't interested in the plot until episode 4 revealed that not only does Kiva own a massive dragon castle that bursts out of a building, but that castle somehow houses a werewolf who seemingly has nothing better to than sit around and transform into a new mode for Kiva for kicks.

Whoa so I said earlier in the series that Haruto was like his own sentai team...well now he literally is one. Not sure how I feel about this!

I was a bit disappointed that Wizard Sentai Dragonman wasn't All-Dragon Form, but it exists, so I'm content.

All I know is, is Land Dragon is by far the crappiest looking. He literally looks like a Kamen Rider in a rainmac.

So the 1985 bits on Kiva are definitely the more interesting of the two eras. At least so far.

Mother of God the final showdown between Phoenix and Wizard was fucking EPIC. Is that the greatest villain send off ever or what?

Anyway, common speculation is that he hits the point where the sun can't kill him and he makes it back to earth, but no solid evidence has surfaced that implies Phoenix will be back.

I'd personally take the two "Really's" out, but it's still good.

I'm enjoying it a lot more than I did W and Kiva, but not as much as I did Dragon Knight.

Ah, I figured that to be the case. Well hopefully that happens sooner than later.

Also...after finishing episode 10 of Kiva, I decided to watch Climax Deka. Man that was fun. It's pretty much barely a crossover and just a Den-O movie, but I could care less. Though it was weird that the detective characyer got way more screen time than Wateru.

For most of the first part of the movie, while I had zero complaints, I kept wondering, "Isn't Kiva supposed to be in this somewhere?" And by the time he actually showed up, I thought, "Oh yeah, I completely forgot about this dude."

Even though it didn't last long, it was cool to see Airi and her two sidekicks interact with the Denliner crew. Her scene with Ryuutaro was nice. And...Yuuto had more cards? Eh, whatever, it was cool to see them again as well.

And lastly...I think Negataros and his group are my favorite Den-O villains. Solely for the fact that his master plan was just to create a self proclaimed evil organization and become the master crime boss of time and space.

You should have seen the scientific discussion that took place when the episode aired.

Oh, and by the way, I totally called the fact that you would like the end of the arc. :D

And it's just getting better and better, I thought an episode about Beast's grandma would just be crappy filler but it shows huge development for Shunpei and some of the funniest moments of the series.

Magical Girl Beast is definitely my new favourite Rider.

Yeah, that kind of cheesed me off. Not so much the lack of Kiva but this focus on a character we know nothing about who does nothing and is a total buttfiend and isn't a Kamen Rider.

I don't know if you finished Den-O, but Yuuto got around that when it came to Altair/Vega cards when he became a different Sakurai Yuuto. I just assumed having his history rewritten would have given him a new history with memories, thus cards.

Just finished OOO Episode 8 and that was an amazing episode, I love this show because I learn from the Lessons Eiji talks about and learn more about myself too. Also I am enjoying the Marathon of OOO instead of Juggling so far.

The one with Nitou's grandmother was unexpected. I certainly enjoyed it!

My biggest surprise was how much I liked Shunpei. After the mess Rinko made, it was nice to see Shunpei really step up, both brave physically and emotionally.

The problem is that, aside from his introduction, it's currently Shunpei's only other character arc. Afterwards, he returns to just sitting around and running away with gates should the situation call for it.

To be fair the plot in general is really clumsy, so I'm not surprised.

I understand. It just would've been better to see some kind of lasting change in the character, like Koyumi dropping her bitchiness.
