Been there. Had an interview with a company a few years ago after my prior employer went under and thought it went pretty well, but the whole thing felt off- them being in a nondescript lot in an office park with no signage or anything indicating their presence kind of set off the klaxon in my head. Looked into them, and sure enough, they were one of the more known MLMs out there, and immediately after finding it out, I did something I've never done before or since: I ghosted.

Yesterday was rough for a number of reasons, time to bury it in shopping. Just kidding... mostly.

On a more positive note, I've been spam-listening to the Dynazenon OP. Should probably watch the show sometime, but committing to subscriptions is hard for me.

Admittedly I had to Google what MLM stood for. Google brought up results for multi-levelling marketing. Is that it?

So I've been starting a form of existential crisis, is the right word? IDK.

But one of my external drives got corrupted, sadly I have to format it and lose my vacation photos (the saving grace being that majority of them was uploaded on my facebook but still) and I have no problems redownloading the torrented shows.

But turns out that even after formatting my disk still experience problems and I conclude it's because the drive is now old. I've had it since 2013, I think? It's natural for externals to eventually break.

The 'existential crisis' part is that I have 4 externals (5 if I count the one I use on PS4) and now considering that all of them have a lifespan, I am now panicking since I need to be able to afford and replace them should they die. And not just that but eventually the SSDs on my PC will about to die in the future so I need to replace them. Ughhhhh.

Also yes, I know I'm a filthy pirate.

As someone with a large external hard drive full of content that would be very difficult to reprocure thanks to a litigious Japanese production studio, let me recommend Backblaze as a very cost-effective backup solution.

I've used it for a few years, and there's no upper-limit on what you can store there. If/when a local drive fails, they can ship you out an external drive with all of that archived content on it.

Worth taking a look at, if you're scared of losing files.

This is..... Pretty intriguing! $60 per year is a very good deal I'm gonna try it when I have a source of income, please remind me when I got a job.

I know that externals are meant to be backups, but I still tend to use them not as backups but extensions lol.

So I might as well prepare to buy 4 HDDs to replace mine, another one is also getting old so I am worried if it's gonna go busted. But one of them was actually an SSD from my laptop and apparebtly SSDs are stronger than HDDs.

But still, Backblaze sounds like a savior, especially for my 6 year old PC. Thanks Die!

You bet! Backblaze has been a really nice safety net. (Which, to be clear, that's all it is. It's not cloud-based file access like Dropbox or Google Drive. You are not going to be interacting with your Backblaze files with that sort of regularity.) It's like a little add-on for cheap large-capacity external drives, and it makes it so that you never have to worry about your content getting zapped overnight because of drive failures.

Missed a shift at work today because Uber is asking $30 for a 10 minute drive one way as the bus doesn't run on Sundays.
Shift in question was only 5 hours.
Because of a previous missed shift earlier this month, I now risk termination.

I'm so mad that I actually don't have an emotional response. I'm just sitting, stunned in disbelief.

I have a new therapist next week and I hope they can understand LGBTQ issues better because I still feel like that there’s a piece of me that is missing. For the last several years, I’m still wondering if I’m CIS male or not. My last few therapist didn't work out for me.

I put in my resignation at my job today. Last day is August 23rd.

I buy this powdered mix you put in water to flavor it up. The powder is in tubes of 6 or 8. Once done I usually wipe out more than a liter a day.

On another note I'm watching Star Wars The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels on DVD. I haven't seen Rebels yet and am almost finished with The Clone Wars (Series V of VII) The Mandilorian is fully out on DVD which I plan to get.

A month ago a package of toku goodies was either stolen out of my apartment lobby or delivered to the wrong address.

Well today I discovered the full contents of the package listed on ebay! I know its my stuff because they left the Zenmarket barcode in one of the images they posted. The seller location is also in the same state as me.

I could never get a refund or claim because FedEx tracking says delivered so I just accepted it as a loss. But it really sucks to see it posted like that. Oh well.

I hope you all avoid FedEx whenever possible!

That's fucking wild. 10 years ago when I got into collecting I vowed to avoid FedEx whenever possible. I guess some things just don't change.

Oh boy do I feel that. I had the exact same thing happen a couple of years ago except it wasn't a package- it was my entire goddamned collection. And how did this happen? Well, long story short when I moved out of my parents' I didn't have enough room to bring all my stuff so I left it in storage with the rest of my family's stuff- since they were moving into a much smaller place for a while too. Apparently somewhere around December of 2017 he just stopped paying the storage fee and in March, the unit and its contents were auctioned off. I found out about this two months later. A little while after that I found the shop that had bought all my stuff, and I know it was mine because of two items in particular: A customized SHF Lemon Energy Baron that our own KamenRiderOOO had made for me, and a Ryuki Advent Buckle that was missing the Ryuki deck (because I had given it to losondro) and had only the Knight deck- with all the cards.

Anyway I haven't spoken to my dad since because he refuses to own up to it along with the other shit he pulled, such as stealing money right out of my bank account. Twice.

Hiiiii, I survived ny first 8 hour work day ever. Day was rough at first, then got better after I ate lunch/supper/dinner/whatever you call a meal around 5pm. Hoping next shift is better and that U'll remember to eat enough.

Like specifically what I lost or was I able to replace them? Because in the latter case, only one. In the former case, to varying degrees.

Someone made an absolute killing off my stuff considering I had a complete set of MMPR SHFs, among so many other things.

Part that hurt worst was a Master Grade Destiny Gundam. Nothing special about the kit itself, but it was given to me by some friends back when I lost my girlfriend in 2012.

It was the one thing I managed to get back, because a friend bought it back for me.

After struggling with gender dysphoria for ages, I finally came out as transgender. I haven't told anyone else yet which is why I felt safer to post it here. Before coming out, I was never happy about my body and myself as a human being. Being at the age of 30, I'm finally ready to start a fresh new start in my life. It feels surreal that my life will be heading in a new direction soon, and I finally do get to live life as a woman. It will be awhile before I start transitioning because I need to save up a lot of money for HRT and gender surgery (I have no job at the moment). At this rate, it probably won't be at least a year.

As for pronouns, you can still use he/him or they/them for me. I will use she/her once I start HRT. I'm still new to all of this, sorry if it comes off as off-putting.

Forgive my ignorance but I was under the impression that transgender is the term used after transitioning? Or is that transsexual? I'm not too familiar with these terms so if someone could explain them to me I would be much grateful.

I think "transsexual" has generally fallen out of favor and "transgender" is the more widely used term, largely for being more universal.
