So far we have three people who voiced characters for puella magi madoka magica. Those characters/people being: Mami(Carrie Keranen), Sayaka(Sarah Williams), and Madoka(Christine Marie Cabanos). And in that same order each are playing: Satsuki, Nonon, and Mako.

You can clearly see why I would be excited.

On the flip side, I think the Kill la Kill dub sounds absolutely awful from that trailer. Admittedly I'm not a big dub listener, but there have been some really great ones in the last few years that have given me renewed interest in them (Squid Girl, Panty & Stocking, Attack on Titan and especially Space Dandy to name a few).

All this trailer gave me was obviously over-American sounding accents with lots of big voices that felt like lines read straight off a script and no real emotion or subtlety to them at all. Gamagoori and Satsuki felt especially off in that regard, and Senketsu's voice didn't really gel with me either.

The only one I felt they absolutely nailed was Nonon.

Zeta Gundam 40

Oh shit a colony laser just killed an entire colony's worth of people. And Reccoa might not be as much of a traitor?

Not much happened asides from the laser and Rosammy being a whiny bitch.

Episode 41
Oh my god Rosammy SHUT THE FUCK UP. It was also awkward for her to be having her tits and not being concerned about it.

Am I the only one that just cannot get into Kill La Kill?

Kill La Kill isn't for anyone and I can see why, I myself enjoyed it and actually loved it but hey that's just me... There is tons of more people that just doesn't like it all.

Zeta Gundam episode 42
You gotta be fucking kidding me Zeta Gundam. The exact same clingy Cyber-Newtype story arc AGAIN!?!?!

First time it happened with Four in the series and the movie trilogy, I was cool with it. Second time, I was somewhat annoyed, but at least the Zeta got to fight the Psyco Gundam. Third Time with a "different" character? Fuck you Tomino.

Episode 43

Back to the real plot...

Looks like Haman finally pulled through. But wait, if the AEUG is giving Side 3 back to the Axis and they defeat the Titans, doesn't that put them in the exact same situation pre-One Year War?

But, I am glad that the Titans finally had a major loss.

Nope. Me too.

Yeah...that's the thing about Precure is that it very traditional Toku, but I can still enjoy it.

I actually liked Kill la Kill overall, but it is certainly another show which doesn't live up to its hype that comes before it. I think the biggest irony is the bigger Kill la Kill gets, the more steam it seems to lose.

Zeta Gundam 44

Kamille you fucking idiot, this is why you don't put an enemy in the cockpit with you!

And Haman might not be as bad as I thought. Planning to take down the leaders of the Titans was an interesting plan.



Gundam 00 season 2 episode 5

Now that I've seen the original Gundam series,I totally get the play on this plotline now. Its a reuse of the"Angsty and Angry Amuro goes out into the desert" story but played completely differently in how the people he exposes turn. Saji, you fucking dumbass, you got Katharon fucking obliterated.

Episode 6
First Setsuna and now Ms. Sumeragi are having vietnam-style flashbacks? Jesus.

Episode 7

So, Soma Peris was just a second personality this whole time. And good for a Gundam series to give a happy ending to one of the pilots. And Alleujah you sly bastard.

This is why I love season 2 so much. It dares to be different. Giving a Gundam character a happy resolution is a good enough reason in my books to make it notable. So much character development this episode.

These Innovator names are really dumb. Even by Gundam standards.

So Tieria is a clone huh? But Ribbons is manipulating everything. God damn. At least Tieria now has a reason to fight.

Episode 9
I've never been a fan of the Arche Gundam. It just looks to weird for my taste. I don't even know why they call it a Gundam, considering it takes the most nonGundam like features from all 3 of the Thrones.

To space!That launch plan though was pretty awesome, even how Ms. Sumeragi planned against Revive's plan.

Episode 10

DAMN YOU MOMENTO MORI!!!!!!!!

Wow, Katagiri figured out it was Miss Sumeragi behind the whole thing. Oh and according to my math, Billy, Sumeragi and Katagiri are all in their 30s. Damn, so sad to see friends get ripped apart by the lines of war. It was nice to get that flashback, as pretty much most of the characters got flashbacks these past few episodes.

And new toys, I mean mobile suits. I'll give my thoughts on the 00 raiser once it fights in the show. But I like the introduction of these new suits a lot better then t the tail end of season 1.

Ok, let's take a look at all the stuf I've finished recently...

Neon Genesis Evangelion: I entered this show with very low expectatives and knwoing more or less the entire plot, and for the biggest part it did deliver dissapointment, the symolism is obnoxious and pointless, Shinji is as unlikeable as everybody says and in general as cool as the Eva and Angel designs were the confrontations felt incredibly repetitive, plus all the things that people praise and call deep, are simply a symptom of the budget problems, when the show starts going down, it's incredibly harsh and silly, with tons of still iamges, stock footag and barely aniamted scenes.

On the other hand there were cool things, Misato's development was interesting and she more or less leads the way for most of the show, making one wonder if she wasn't the true protagonist... and the world Eva develops in is pretty cool in the few occasions it's shown, the episode where another Mech is built is a good example, for the biggest part learning about the world was better than learning about the story.

So it is flawed, far from a masterpiece and quite a chore to go through at points, but for better or worse it's hard to forget.

End of Evangelion: The always confusing and often criticized End of Eva was ironiclly my favorite part of the whole endeavor, not only it had you know... moving images, but it finally tired to give a reason to all the points in the show, in particular Shinji's personality, that was builidng up to the scene where he rejects intrumentality.
It showed that the writers did have an idea of where they wanted to go, even if the execution was a mess.
In all honesty I liked it, was it worth the time spent on the show? Heck no!
But it was a fun little movie.

DokiDoki Precure: Ahh Precure, you got me in your claws...
The 2013 iteration of Toei's magical girl franchise tries to separate itself from it's past entries through a simple fact, having a single coherent narrative that tries to avoid filler episode in exchange for having an slowly unraveling story.
Did it work? Yes, quite well, DokiDoki moves at a great pace with new reveals and developments that feel natural and make the show very engaging, sure most of the time the plot revolves around the girls having to unlock a new power, find a new artifact or simply upgrade something, but it always builds up to the plot isntead of simply feeling like a stupid attempt to shake things up.

Character wise, the main cast is solid (more on that later) but it suffers from a very underdeveloped supporting cast, unlike HeartCatch which amde sure all victims of the week had a clear perosnality and stuck around making the show's world more populated Doki opts for a more perosnal approach, making the encounter focus between the Villain and Cures, with the victims and mentors being more of a side note.
The villains are fairly good, the "Selfish" are each based around a deadly sin, which gives them a clear defined personality, at least for kid shows standards.
Later on a far more interesting antagonists joins in the form of Regina, who simply happens to be one of the best aspects of the show.

The team is good for the most part, a strong energetic lead in the form of Cure Heart that sadly suffers from too much focus and a lack of apparent flaws, but continues to be liekeable to the very end. Cure Diamond is the brains and has one of the best story arcs in the show, Rosetta is a very interesting character that sadly suffers from too little time, but she shines when she can, Sword is the main one driving the sotry forward for the first half and probably the one that changes the most, then a sixth ranger joins int he form of Ace, a character about duality, trapped between her duties and the innocence of a kid, she's simply great.

Originally I had more complaints, but I realized it was nitpicking, the show is a pretty good entry, and all things said a pretty good starting point.

Gundam Unicorn: Ahh I waited for you a long time Unicorn, but the journey to Laplace's box was one worth waiting for.

Gundam Unicorn takes place in the same continuity (Universal Century) as the original Mobile Suit Gundam, and expects some knowledge of it, it is however newcomer friendly so past concepts and events are explained in it.

Unicorn follows the usual Gundam formula, an idealistic teen ends up piloting a super prototype in a conflict between earth an space, realizing that war isn't as black and white as he once believed, and ahving to redefine his standing in a situation he now has the power to change.
It's a simple concept, and a simple premise too, our hero Banagher Links ends up piloting the RX-0 a new Gundam type mobile suit that is nicknamed "Unicorn" and is the key to Laplace's Box, a mystery that can forever shift the balance between earth and space.

But Unicorn tells it in a maginificent way, with some of the most memorable characters, great pacing and incredible production values, this is an incredible love letter to Gundam fans, and an incredible experience.

If you have ever enjoyed a Gundam show, you will enjoy this one.

Kanon: The second entry in the famous Key trilogy, you know the deal with this Visual Novel adaptations, a set of heroines with their individual arcs, a male main character and some form of magic realism that Key is so fond of.

Air I called a show of great ideas but terrible execution, Kanon for me is the opposite, none of the arcs have partiucalry great concepts, but everything is handled very well, instead of simply doing the arcs in a set order disconnected from each other, it slowly built on all of them, which made more sense and helped the pacing.

Also the lead is way better than I expected, Yuuichi is nice and carng like most VN heroes are, but he's also teasing, and something of a troll, he's fun and his interaction with the entire cast always bring some good laughs.

In the end Kanon is a solid experience, not the most memorable one, but one that is done very well.

Yeah, I agree that gender bending King Arthur kinda feels pointless, feels like something they did just so that Caesar can switch sides…whom I can say is pretty much the Starscream of the series.

Also, Hideyoshi is now a Cyborg? Okay…that's kinda awesome in it's own ridiculous way. And the fact that Alexander can take a direct blow to the arm like that and STILL complete his objective? Okay, the man's kind of badass

Soooo yeah…four episodes of this show left and I have no freaking clue how it's gonna end...

Gundam 00 season 2 episode 11

Fuck yeah 00 Raiser! And its only gonna get more badass from here. The assualt on Celestial being's base was an interesting battle, as they were going to destroy it anyways. But that freaky trans-Am raiser stuff at the end of the episode really reminded me of Zeta Gundam, how the scenery would completely transition to a soft background when Newtypes communicated.

The original gash bell doesn't feel nerfed like the dub. Of course the blood and guns shown aren't censored/changed and Folgore's song is... Different in the original version. By different I mean he sings about "groping breasts" instead of the dubbed version of him song about how great he is. Another thing changed is... well in the dub, they refer to her as lady Susan but in the original they call her... Big... Boing. Yeah that's her name in the original version. I'm still enjoying the original version. So far I'm on episode 96. Only 8 episodes away from where the dub stopped at but this version goes all the way to episode 150. I recommend watching it if you liked Zatch bell when they showed it on cartoon network.

Fuck yeah 00 Raiser! I fucking hate Revive, too bad 00 Riaser didn't kill her. Damn, Celestial Being an Louise is practically destroying the core foundation of beliefs of poor old Saji. And more sobbing. oh Saji, you fucking dumbass, again? At least you stopped yourself this time.

Episode 13

Best episode of 00 yet. So much tension, so much action, so much skill, so much emotion and overall a great win. It had such a grand sense of scale that I appreciated.

I think was more angry at the Innovators then the Titans from Zeta, from my combined instances of anger at them. FUCK YOU INNOVATORS I HATE YOUR FUCKING CLONE ASSES MOTHERFUCKERS! QUIT BRAGGING ABOUT THE TACTICAL SKILLS YOU DON"T HAVE.

It was badass to see Lock-on rise up to the challenge and the plan to work. Everybody was great in this episode. Even Marina, a character I don't care for much, was a great way to end the episode. The Momento Mori and the Federation deserved to have their asses straight handed to them.

Episode 14
Much more of a breather this episode. FUCK YEAH SERAPHIM! Seriously, Seravee is rising the ranks as one of my favorite Gundams ever and Seraphim is one reason why. It also shows that Tieria is opening to in combat and to people in general.

Shit, Setsuna got shot. I'm sure that won't come around later....
Oh my god this Trans-am Raiser fight is fucking insane. 00 as a show just wins based on this.

I even liked the song. The thing that 00 did with kids that First Gundam and Zeta couldn't is that they could have them yet keep a serious tone. Instead of wacko comedy about shitty kids on a ship and a drastic war story going outside being in the same show, 00 can keep hopeful and playful kids yet not ruin the serious tone it has.

Episode 15
Finally, Setsuna's backstory in full. Just so creepy.

FUCK YOU INNOVATORS. These guys are the most annoying pieces of shit I've seen in Gundam. And what the hell is up with every important mobile suit using these shocking electric wires. It serves no purpose other then torture and anger the person you're torturing.

Looks like that Cout de Ta saved Ptolemy just in time.


Episode 16
Wow, this episode was so good that it didn't even have Celestial Being in it LOL.

Man, I love this episode. It established its own set of relationships and motives while still connecting to the larger story. There wasn't a lot of fighting but there didn't need to be.

The Cou de tat was so well planed out. And I was actively flipping off the Federation when the edited footage showed up. its shit like this that gets my blood boiling, a good story, great characters fighting against truly terrible people.

Episode 17

MAXIMUM HYPER TYPHOON

One of, if not the best episodes of 00. Most of the episode is everyone just shooting down the elevator parts that are falling and working together. But its so awesome. Plus, Marie is back into action.
Its such a joy to see everybody working together.

This episode concluded Smearnoff's backstory. I found it interesting that his wife died in a battle at the construction at the orbital elevator starting his hostile relationship with his son, and he died at the destruction of the orbital elevator where his hostile relationship with his son ended.

Also, how fucked up is this person to kill his own dad to get revenge for his mother and Semarnoff didn't even get to explain why he was in the elevator? Fuck you Andre.

Goodbye Smearnoff.

Episode 18

FUCK YOU FEDERATION AND FUCK YOU INNOVATORS AND YOUR CORRUPT ASSES. How the fuck does someone lie about such a big event like that. Wouldn't someone have video or photographic evidence of what actually happened? I mean, the thing is fucking huge, and somebody on the Africa Continent has to have a telescope powerful enough to see that.

To sound like Tieria Erde for a moment, "You destroyed a pinnacle of human achievement, the orbital elevator, just to satisfy your own greed. You all deserve to die ten thousand deaths!"

I actually forgot how soon the introduction of Anew and Lock-on's relationship is to her turn.

And why is Soma Pieres back? Seriously, I think the writers are just trying to mess with Alleujah now.

I love the scene at the end where everybody is saying the names of the ones they are fighting for and Setsuna just says "Gundam".

Build Fighters finale has to be one of THE most satisfying finales I have ever experienced from a show. Just wow, who knew I cared about this show so much? I can't even pick a favourite moment, it was so great.

That also, sorta sums up my feelings about the whole show. Build Fighters has a consistency and quality to it that is rarely seen from anime these days. It's so great from start to finish Build Fighters almost risks negating itself, it's that great.

It wasn't without its flaws, most of the characters were pretty bland and mostly forgettable and for me the show hit its peak with the battle with Fenice and so I wish it came later in the series and not somewhere in the middle but overall Build Fighters is a show leaps and bounds above the vast majority of the anime I have seen in the last decade and a new favourite.

So Locke, are you going to watch 00 now that you're done with BF? LOL.

I will get to it eventually, I just have no time any more.

I knew from the get go that Rikka was the best, and my gut feeling definitely paid off. From her trying to analyze Precure magic with science, to her constant straight man routine with Mana, to her interactions with Ira later in the series, she always shined like a diamond.

I'm watching Shakugan no shana for the first time in months... I have no idea what's going on right now.

Knew we would get one. Though it does seem like anime's taking a back burner to other things these days.

My mom has Netflix and I should take the chance to use it to catch up on some new anime, although I can never find the time.

I did catch a bit of the Pokemon Mega Evolution special on CN today. I swear we should of have each new Pokemon get a new hero each Pokegen but Ash is like a rash: You want it to go away but the more attention you pay to it the longer it stays. Also that one guy with the Charizard was so lame and his dub actor was bland like warm tap water.

I dropped Pokemon pretty early on during the Johot arcj after I realized it was pretty much the same damned thing over and over again.

I started watching as a kid around Honen and saw the Kanto and Island stuff through tapes. I stopped watching the newer ones around mid Diamond after coming the realization we all do: it's the same shit over and over. I mean it is season for season exact almost in setup and tropes.

While waiting for Space dandy too start i'm just sitting here watching backlogged anime.
Finished that episode of Shakugan no shana and now i'm moving onto an episode of Marvel Diskwars.

Persona 3 Spring of Birth: The first film in the movie adaptation of the incredibly popular Persona 3 by Atlus.

P3 tells the story of Makoto Yuki (or Minato Arisato if you are reading the manga, or Sakuya Shiomi if you are going by the plays, or Masato Jin if you are like me and had no idea how to name him in the game) an exchange student that ends up joining SEES a special school club that fights Shadows, enemies to humankind that roam in the Dark Hour, the hidden hour between 12:00 and 12:01, all the while shooting himself in the head with a gun looking device that allows him to summon a physical representation of his inner psyche.
Confused yet? Good! P3 is meant to start as shocking, however unlike most game adaptations that come across as fanservice for the gamers, P3 seems to be genuinely interested in letting you know what's going on, and explains things very well.

The main problems actually come from the original game, Spring of Birth only covers the first few months of Persona 3, which means that it's mostly build up for later events, and that it has to cover a lot of ground in a short span of time.
The constant jumps can get annoying but despite being only a fraction of a bigger story, Spring of Birth manages to tell a good journey that feels good by itself, it deals with Makoto's opinion of death and life, and him slowly opening to his fellow memeber and people in general.

Spring of Birth is a solid intro to the Persona movie series, and it seems like the end result will be quite awesome. :)


That was one of the best things about her in the early days, it's a perfectly logical reaction, yet most people wouldn't think of it.

The series is starting to get better, it seems like they're taking the Gaim approach of introducing as many Desinger's Children as possible.

We get another villain added to the bunch, this time an idol. The episode is heavily Akari focused, and just the fact that she was willing to nuke all of humanity…damn! The girl isn't as harmless as she looks.

The more I watch, the more I'm starting to get the impression that this is a modern remaining of GaoGaiGar. Although, I think I'd like to see another Desingers Child join the Hero side for a change, because as it is: they're gonna be outnumbered pretty badly.

Gundam 00 season 2 episode 19

Man, Louise is fucking angry. Even in a place where Saji and her mindmelded she still pulled a gun on him LOL.

How many of these fucking Gaddesses do these piece of shit Innovators have?

Episode 20
Goodbye Anew. Damn, just watching Lyle beat the shit out of Setsuna and start balling like that is really depressing.

It was really wretched that Anew, no Ribbons, took Lyle's heart and willingness to save her and almost crushed him. I fucking hate you Ribbons, and your dumbass troop of one trick ponies too.

That Trans-am raiser scene though, that was sexy and beautiful and tearjerking. I wonder if Setsuna had that going when Anew had her programming on, would she have been the innocent person underneath.

Now here's something that I don't understand, Louise getting turned into an Innovator. This subplot is never really utilized throughout the rest of the story, so I don't see its point.



Episode 21
Wow. Seems like everybody is a puppet of the Innovators.

And Mr. Bushido has a new suit.... that's the exact same as the old one except with white instead of red.

Louise "killing" Nena was fucking insane. Just listening to her going from coping to despair to pain in a few seconds is just scary. The thing is though, her entire career path was to be in the military just to avenge her family. I don't know anyone who has had loved ones killed, but I don't know if it is sane to spend years in training just to hopefully be deployed in a place where the person that killed you loved one is (if they are still alive.)

I'll check this out when all three movies are out and released dubbed. I hope Funimation licenses it but it will probably be Sentai since they did Persona 4 (except their BD was dubbed only...).

Hearing the original voices is kinda odd, I admit.

Gundam 00 season 2 episode 22

I think those GNHW parts didn't do anything for Arios other then give him a backpack.

It was finally time to see the A-laws get what they deserve. Especially that blonde commander guy. Mainly setup for the final battle much in a similar way to last season but still pretty awesome.

Aniplex will be releasing a Japanese audio0 Bluray in the US, but I'm sure we'll get a dub eventually.
