It's pretty much what if we made Saint Seiya an isekai anime and instead of Greek mythology we replace it with Hindu mythology. And Inoue wrote some of the eps. And titular hero is voiced by Momotaros while the brainwashed friend/archnemesis is by Dio. And it was made by Tatsunoko.

I've actually heard of that one, though I forgot it until right this moment. I'll throw it on my to-watch list after I wrap up YST and while I'm waiting to acquire the second and third seasons of Sailor Moon.

On the subject of upcoming projects, I've been asked by a friend of mine who's doing some translation work on some old Samurai Troopers materials to provide a summary of my insights into the background, influences, and context of the show.

It is... quite a bit and I'm actually looking forward to try and articulate the connections I've found and not sounding like a madwoman. I expect like three people to care, and maybe one to actually read it, but this is for me more than anyone else.

I feel like that's the only way to approach a project that's grown out of your fandom? It's a way for you to take all of those thoughts, arrange them so that it makes sense to you, and then put them out in the world in the hopes that they might be useful to other fans. The main benefit, though, is creating something you can be happy about. As long as you can do that, it's worth doing.

I have probably just worked my last shift at McDonald's. Couple of goodbyes to guys I've toughed through stuff with, some last minute efforts to look good.


Head manager, who I've never worked with before, told me I was good and that I should work more. I decided not to say anything.

When I left my first stocking job I made sure to try and leave on good terms with everyone, including the shift lead. Her response was "We were around before you and we'll keep going after you're gone."

That left such a sour taste in my mouth I never set foot in that store again.

Hence why I stuck with my current job for as long as I have. In spite of everything I actually felt valued.

But... I can't sling coffee my whole life, I gotta go do something else. Plus the pandemic put things in perspective and "only" making 12 bucks an hour after risking my health for a year due to this country's idiotic response to an actual crisis ain't gonna cut it anymore.

It looks like I will start my job training at the Casino on August 23rd. I will be paid $14 an hour and I may be working five days during the week.

Oh don't get me wrong, I know I was doing better than most in my field of work.

I don't have Disney Plus running but luckily for me Star Wars The Mandilorian Series I and II got a joint DVD release so I can get caught up. Also Series I of Star Wars Resistance is out which is during Episodes VII - IX and deals with the battle against the First Order. That will be interesting to see.

Also watching Disenchantment which is from the creator of Futurama on Netflix.

I think it's kind of funny that the stream exclusive shows are now coming out on DVD.

So a few days ago I mentioned wanting the Siege Optimus toy so that he could go with my Siege Megatron that I bought earlier this year. My dad overheard me and bought one for me on eBay. While I am incredibly grateful for this, I know that he also bought me a new PC earlier this year when my old one broke down so I might have to refrain from mentioning stuff I want whenever I'm around him in the future before he ends up emptying his wallet.

That aside, the Optimus is pretty good, sans some unfortunate minor mold flashes (which thankfully aren't noticeable from a distance). Apparently the waist hinge is a bit fragile so I'm a bit paranoid whenever I'm transforming the thing in case I snap it. To anyone who has Siege Optimus, how durable is the waist hinge? Has yours snapped yet?

I've had mine since it first came out, and I haven't had any problems. Transformed it a bunch, too, since it's a great figure. I honestly hadn't even heard there were problems with it? Certainly not on my copy, and hopefully not on yours. Enjoy it!
