Is it really necessary to haves pages and pages talking about the suit. I think we're just nitpicking a bit. The good news for people that don't like it, it's probably not going to get a lot of screen time, since by the time Aruto gets it, the show will be almost over.
Plus, with the pandemic, maybe they couldn't afford an overly bombastic suit, so they went with a more simpler suit. |
You know, I honestly don't understand the complaining about the Zero-Two suit. Whenever we get an overly bombastic final form suit like Build Genius or Grand Zi-O, it's just people complaining about how ugly or overly complicated they look. So Toei finally gives us a more simple, sleeker looking final form suit, and people are complaining again. And even then, another way to look at it is as the base form of Zero-Two, not the final form for Zero-One.
Regardless, even if you say Zero-Two is Zero-One's final form, all the complaining will vanish once the suit shows up in-show. Just like every infamous suit that was complained about until they debuted, this is how it'll go. Once it debuts people will start complimenting that it looks much better than it did in magazine scans, and then people will forget they spent months complaining about how horrible and ugly the suit was. Grand Zi-O was one that was hated for so long, then it debuted and people stopped complaining. And I guarantee it'll happen in the next season too. And the season after that. And the season after that. And so on. It never ends with complaining about suit designs that eventually stop after the debut. |

Speaking of the suit, it looks like the June Telebi-scans have started surfacing: https://www.reddit.com/r/KamenRider/...levikun_scans/
Good news for a certain someone, it appears the red and silver they're using for the actual suit will be a tad bit darker than what was initially seen (namely if you check the right half of the second image). |

Kiva Emperor? Love the regal-ness of the gold and red. Decade Complete? Love the cards that are just plastered on. Fourze Cosmic States? The button-pad chest armor for the Astroswitches is a clever idea. Gaim Kiwami Arms? Love that it's samurai warlord armor with fruits painted on the chest. Ghost Mugen Damashii? The long-coat is amazing. Ex-Aid Muteki Gamer? FUCK YEA GOLDEN STAR DREADLOCKS. Build Genius? I like how the Fullbottles are placed and I think the centrifuge chest is a cool look (definitely makes it a good counterpart to Evol's armillary sphere chest). GrandZi-O? It's like Blade King Form (one of my favorite all-time final forms) BUT WITH KAMEN RIDER STATUES INSTEAD. Like I get the ideas behind Zero-Two and I do think it's a great idea that it's more of a hardware update than just a software update, I just wish it had something a little... more to it than just Zero-One Rising Hopper with some new bits here and there? Like even with the simpler final forms from early Heisei Riders they kinda had enough that while they did appear similar to the base that they looked, they definitely had more to them. Again, Zero-Two's not a bad form, just... a little underwhelming to me, especially considering the progression of some really solid designs like Shining Assault and Metalcluster Hoppers. Honestly I think if the helmet was a little more like Shining Assault or Metalcluster, or that the shoulder armor protruded a little more, I'd like it a bit more. But yea, you're definitely right that there will always be people who'll find things they don't like about a Rider's final form, since not everyone will be satisfied with how they look. |

Zero-Two, I think in the long run most of us are going to be appreciating that the series stayed so true to what made its designs such huge winners with everybody. They had plenty of detail, but they were slick too, and avoided being needlessly complex or deliberately gaudy the way so many of the later Heisei Riders were. Shining Assault Hopper is something of an outlier because of this, which I'd imagine is part of the reason there's a camp of people who prefer the base Shining Hopper suit so much. Zero-Two's increase in bright colors without adding much in the way of new shapes, I think is a solid compromise to give the impression of an upgrade without ruining that simplicity. To me at least, it feels like a truer successor to Rising Hopper than any of Zero-One's other upgrades, even if, admittedly, something like Metal Cluster Hopper has a way more immediate cool factor. |
There's very few suits I've stayed disliking after I've seen it in action. Sure, there's still Shining Hopper and Ryuki Survive; but equally I've seen Zi-O Trinity and Rampage Gatling especially do a lot to win me over.

Let's also not forget what Zero-Two will bring to the story. Will it bring much needed character growth for Aruto, will it affect the character dynamics in a significant way, will it's debut lead to big revealation or will it just be a bigger stick for Aruto to wield against his enemies. Hopefully it's not the last one.
p.s. also I hope they don't do it dirty like Grand Zi-O |

Good job, head writer of Zi-O. (I’m being sarcastic BTW) |
