Road Sector supplements Battle Hopper, it doesn't replace him.

Good, because it looks awful. Huge as chassis with giant windscreen and massive nonsense on the back. Battle Hopper is sleek but retro bug-motif. This looks like a boat on wheels. Two wheels. With ugly fenders. It's like if you took the Machine Cyclone and inflated it and took away the charm.

EDIT: That was probably my least favourite episode. Aside from it being a blatant commercial, it was disjointed and the pacing was off. The only noteworthy thing was the bike and that now someone else knows who Black is.

Yeah, there's a reason why Battle Hopper is fondly remembered and still gets merchandise made occasionally while Road Sector is all but forgotten.

Since I didn't want that to be my last episode for the nigth, I've started twelve. Ooooh babies! I smell dramatic imagery of Black holding a baby sometime in the future.

on episode 46 of OOO a few more and ill have to decide on either W or Fourze, or finish GoBusters, not sure damn am i pumped for this ending :lol

Also it's cool that they showed Battle Hopper sitting there, almost as if to tell us he isn't forgotten. I can't help but think Battle Hopper looks at Road Sector and thinks "you slut."

Also really, he saved a puppy? So he saves babies, puppies, and smashes boulders all in one episode? Now we're getting a bit silly. (but hey, as long as Crab monster is made from styrofoam his new rider punch should work just fine.

OOO has a very satisfying finale. The actual show itself, I felt, lost something near the end, but the actual final episode itself rocked.

on final episode of OOO, sad to see it over but i now know why i never wanted to watch it, i really want an OOO driver and the TaToBa SHF :lol but im lookin at now to try to get the combo change figures :lol see this is why i dont watch new stuff that has toys to go with it :lol but lets go: Taka Tora Bata! TaToBa TaToBa TaToBa!

And i have finished OOO, DAMN That. Was. Awesome, but it was confusin how they forgot about Shingo the rest of the episode after Ankh left him :lol

Now, to go to sleep and get ready to go to work then. Cyclone Joker! :lol

Episode 3 of Kabuto was kind of uninspiring. The new bike looks cool as hell but the whole plot about the Worms was really drawn out and went nowhere, unless this is going to somehow have greater purpose down the line.

Plus, I don't know really know how I feel about the whole cast off, clock up thing. In the first episode the general thrill allowed me to kinda surf on the bad but I dunno...it's just so...clunky. Like the general idea is really cool but he has to henshin, then he has to actually go to his proper form, then he has to clock up once, then AGAIN to do the finishing move - with his finishing move including even more button pushing and lever flipping. It just ends up feeling a lot less spectacular because it's so needlessly drawn out.

Watched OOO episode 10 and main it gets really interesting fast. I am intrigued with Doctor Maki but don't like him. I love Eiji even more so and Ankh is fun.

Dr. Maki is really becoming the split character. Either you hate him and his doll, or you love him and his morbidity. I really thought Cazali/Kazari (HOWEVER HIS NAME IS SPELLED) would be the one the fandom would be split on, but I guess I was wrong.

Yeah, I am not a fan of Road Sector. I don't even know what the point of it was. Why did Toei feel the need to give Black a second bike?

Of course, I love Black, it is in my top 5 favorite Rider series of all time, but it definitely has some major misses to it. The biggest being Shadow Moon does not appear until the last 15 episodes of the series, and you never actually see him in human form outside of one or two quick shots.

He took the monster's blood and found it was flamable, then analyzed it under a microscope and compared it's cells with those in a book to determine it's exact spieces and where it lives.

Merchandizing. In the days before secondary Riders and alternate forms you needed something else to put on the toy shelves.

Shadow Moon isn't supposed to transform - the whole point of turning Kotaro and Nobuhiko into Black Sun and Shadow Moon was that those bodies were meant to be their new bodies as the Century Kings. The fact that Nobuhiko never changes back indicates that he's embraced that destiny and turned away from his humanity, while Kotaro still holds onto his.

Finished watching Kabuto recently. It's not bad--not my favourite or anything, but not bad.

Just started watching Den-O.

Den-O's pretty good. It's probably my second favourite series.

So, decided to watch W Fourze and Wizards first episodes, W is pretty good, hope fourze is okay, if not ill just start watchin W then go to Fourze

Keeping up with Black 13, a MAMMOTH monster. It's a MAMMOTH task keeping such a MAMMOTH amount of truely MAMMOTH-sized monsters at bay, but Black does it. But I have a MAMMOTH concern that's just been eating away at me on a MAMMOTH scale. Why do MAMMOTHS in Japanese stuff always posess a MAMMOTH freezing ability? Freezing and MAMMOTHS? I'm afraid I don't see the obviously MAMMOTH connection in front of my MAMMOTH nose. Is it becaus ethey thrived in MAMMOTHLY cold environments? Why didn't the MAMMOTH lizard shoot MAMMOTH plumes of fire from his MAMMOTH rubber head? Afterall, like MAMMOTHS and ice, lizards usually thrive in MAMMOTHLY hot environments.

It's hardly a MAMMOTH issue, but something I always caught. MAMMOTHS to me make me think warm and cozy with the MAMMOTH amount of fur on them.

I'm also thinking of starting/restarting Wizard, since I just realised it'd be really cool to watch a really old series with it's martial-arts focus along side the more gimmicky modern ones. And Wizard is the most recent series. What do guys think? I don't usually juggle, but it'd be neat I think.

I think it's a great idea. I'm not big on juggling series, but I do like to keep up with the most current show while watching an older one in between. Keeps me occupied and it gives me good bait to compare the newest show to.

Yeah, I think it'd be neat. Especially now that I'm deep into Black, I know I'll finish it. Plus It'd be cool to be up-to-date on KR for once.

And with Wizard only 36 episodes in, that gives you 10 weeks to catch up :lol

So, as it goes...

Wizard 1: I got to say, that was a well-made first episode. It established the rider, his character, the powers, the villains and how they work as well as their goal. It was a little franatic trying to drop everything at once, and cluttered. But it was the first episode. Wizard himself is okay. He seems to be aiming for the charming personality type, but doesn't really nail it. The female detective is just as dumb as I was led to believe. Totally self-concious, thick (oh yeah, we're dealing with powers we cannot understand. Let's lock up and refuse help from the one person who does!) and just not very good. His powers are just clunky and weird to use, (why does he have to switch it back and fourth to use it? Makes switching powers slow and painful) and the driver is even more annoying than I had been led to believe from clips.

Also, the action was really bad, mostly because it was just all bad special effects. Which sucks because his actual kung-fu fighting at the beginning was excellent. Props for his wepaons actually looking like they're made of metal, though. Dunno how they did it, but much like the metal shaft from W it actually looks like a real wepaon with weight. I'll keep watching, though, since the belt/powers and detective are really the only bad parts.

Black 14: Wow, he rider-chopped half the mammoth's fucking body off. That was grody, but cool. Funny that tuna is the monster's life blood. Civilian justice to the rescue!

But man oh man, that song. I'm sure it had vital plot significance, but I'll get the jist of it later. I just had to skip it. Other than that, mostly action. That doctor guy is hysterical. Of course! Mad scientist hair isn't because scientists are distracted and never take care of themselves. It's the science itself that makes your hair go nuts.

Wizard's belt swaps back and forth because certain rings can only be used when the belt is on a certain side, and if he wants to use a ring, he has to swap the belt's side to activate the belt again, since it goes inactive after scanning a ring.

I'm bad at explaining it, but you'll understand it soon enough if you just keep watching.

Oh no, I get that. What I don't get is when the hand is facing left, then he switches it right, then immediately swithes it back to the left. Why?

Because, the belt goes inactive after scanning a ring, and the only way to reactivate it is to swap it's side. So if he wants to use a left hand ring, he has to swap it to the right to reactivate the belt, then to the left again so he can scan it.

Yes! Good Man. Den-O is my personal favorite series.

Den-O is awesome. I think I'd rank it 3rd or 4th favorite series, personally...

Also the rings as helmets really looks weird. Not really because of the shapes, but the helmets look HUGE compared to flame style.

BTW, halfway through the second episode of Wizard. I see the infamous Shunpie or whatever has every bit lived up to his reputation. Also oh dear God what is that thing in the pink van what the hell what the hell

Like I said, Den-O is easily second for me. It's just great characters and great concepts. It's fun to watch.

You seem to talk up Blade more. I'm surprised, I thought that was your favorite.

I talk up Blade because everyone seems to write it off because of bland designs.
And you how much I hate it when people judge a series, positive or negative, based off design.

It is a curiously overlooked show, yeah. Especially since pretty much everyone I know who's watched it seems to love it.

They're not bland. There's quite a bit of detail to them.

And I guess me too, because while I'm not that much of a fan of Den-O's designs (especially Rod Form) I love that series.

I adored it. It was a great series, that's only trumped by OOO and W for minor issues in terms of pacing and exposition.

I'm unsure of whether or not Den-O is better because I'm just extremely indecisive...
