Not only is it not very good, it fits with neither the characters nor the theme of the show and perhaps the worst thing is like when Souji sneaks off to transform and still does the dance while hiding where no one is around. Why? |

Megaranger 23
The last Episode before the Introduction of a new hero and we are presented with one of Sentais most beloved stock plots. In this one Kenta finds a strange Egg that turns out to be a Nezire Monster and he raises it. The rest of the Episode is pretty predictable since there are alot of those structured Episodes in Super Sentai history. It was pretty well done though. The Monster was really likeable and it didnt annoy me like others did in those kind of storys. You really got invested in the relationship Kenta and the Monster had so at the end when the story draws to its conclusion you buy that he would react the way he did. Actionwise there isnt much in this Episode but the scenes that were present are really good. The last fight between Kenta and one of the other Nezire Monsters in this Episode is so bad ass an its really fun to watch. |
Epilepsy put a damper on my ability to watch any episodes yesterday, but I haven't dropped it, yet.
If there's one major problem I have with it, it's the secret identity angle. The bulky braces that their sleeves do nothing to hide, the off kilter acting when it comes to talking about the Megarangers...It's just annoying. Yeah, it's not as bad as Clark Kent, but no one even bats an eyelash, which is what bugs me. |

Megaranger 24
So we finally got Mega Silvers introduction and its a pretty decent Episode. We get Mega Silver riding around town with his Bike keeping taps on ther other Megaranger. The five heroes get involved with one of Yugandes Monters which has a device on its forehead that records all of the Megaranger attacks. The Device is then installed into a similiar Monster and the Rangers have to fight it again but this time it is able to counter everything they through at it. Its pretty obvious how the rest of the Episode will go once this idea is introduced. During the fight Mega Silver shows up and fights the new Monster. What I really liked was that the other Megaranger didnt just watch him fight but instead they take on Yugande. Also after the Monster turns giant they are the ones that fight it since Mega Silver doesnt have a robot yet. The fights in this one are really well done and Mega Silver has some pretty sweet moves. His weapon is pretty boss I gotta admit and I love his design. For the introduction of a sixth Ranger it was pretty decent and I cant wait to learn more about this new character. |

Skipping episode eleven, it's time to Brave In! ...to episode 12.
I think I may have officially made it past the point where I dropped the show last time, and I'm enjoying it a lot so far. Shows how much the sheer quantity of filler bogs this series down, what have I skipped five of twelve episodes? That is terrible, on the shows part. And if the flashback is anything to go on, all I missed was the cameras obsession with a fifteen year old girl. The Deboss continue to have great designs and in a day and age where usually Rangers just wear plain attire, I love Utchy's ridiculous outfit. He's a pretty awesome character in general so far. Fierce protector of children, and wanting to be appear stronger on the outside for fear of those seeing who he is inside as weakness. And seeing him ride the Kentrospiker was just epic. Tell you what though, the full roll call with him in it is AWFUL. Hearing Samba and Japanesey period music played AT THE SAME TIME Jesus fucking Christ. It isn't even like it's a remix or anything, they literally just blare the sounds over one another. Also, I absolutely hate how his addition to the mecha is a backpack with wings stuck on it. It just makes Kyoryuzin look bulky as fuck and I actually like the base design a lot, so it ruins it for me. Even though these are shows about Spandex Clad Heroes, I always appreciate a good excuse for them to be left without their powers, having to fight in their civilian forms. I dunno, you watch a lot of older toku especially there is this firm disconnect between Hero and Character so I appreciate efforts like this to really bring the two closer together. |

I love how, like, in Gaim there's the background music of the belt on top of the belt's catchphrase on top of the show's score on top of things exploding and characters screaming. It adds this chaos that kind of grounds the scene in a weird way. Like, a battle like that would be super cacophonous. If that makes any sense at all. :lol |
One of the few unanimous things concerning Kyoryuger was that the team transformation with the clashing music sounded horrid :lol
|
I thought the Samba music went great with Uchy's period piece. Just wait until they add KyoryuSilver's rock music to the fold.
|
I'm glad I'm not alone in this one :lol
I will fear the day when they smash rock music over the top as well, oh God. It'll be like having three YouTube windows open at the same time. |
Agreed on that, Silver's rock is just awful, at least when it's played with everyone else's Samba...

(if you want bad, the first episode of Wizard was bad. The belt was so loud that they actually started lowering the voice as early as episode 2) |
Wizard's Driver was just shit.
The whole magic ring business was never properly explained and having SHABADOOBIE screamed over the top of dramatic moments was pretty much the immediate way to ruin it. Like at least in Kyoryuger the Samba shit is out of the way as soon as the transformation is done, it's dumb, but I can live with that but every attack Wizard did was punctuated by that obnoxious and juvenile piece of crap that couldn't even keep up with the action as it was. And yeah you have that horrible screaming narrator here but even then, at least he isn't STILL screaming half way into the fight like Wizard's Driver would with all the stupid songs. I found Beast's a lot better. Shame he was useless. |

So much so that the last time clip at the beginning is entirely of Amy's legs?
|
Yes, so much. Don't forget that Sakamoto was in charge. Things like that will happen. Anyway, what do Amy's legs have to do with Ucchi being Ucchi and idol Candelira?
|
Quote:
Oh God it's that episode where Candelira sings that song that makes you wanna rip out your eardrums? I'm okay not repeating that episode. |
Quote:
I think it's a fine episode, but it's not essential. |
It's essential to understand how Ucchi turned from the guy we've seen at his first appearance into the guy we have for the rest of the series.
Though Locke, if you know what happened in the episode because you've seen it, yeah, no problem. And yes, it's one of the singing Candelira episodes. |
I did watch the first 11 or so episodes of Kyoryuger when it was first airing before I dropped it. It's made a huge difference on the experience cutting out those five or so episodes I have so far. I'm actually really enjoying Kyoryuger without that annoying song, and tooth ache and farting dinosaurs and whatever else was was in there and not even felt or noticed by me as I skipped over it.
|
I'm soon gonna start watching Chojin Sentain Jetman.

I still think I made the right choice in skipping it for him, but I'd probably include it in a list made for someone who hadn't already seen the first 11 episodes. |
Eh? But in episode 12 he explains to Daigo why he's doing what he's doing, and they even set up the whole playing against his role thing with the children sumo match. So it basically tells the whole of episode 11 in two thirty second scenes. I think even if I hadn't seen 11 once, I woulda been fine.

Alright, time to now skip three episodes, and Brave in to episode sixteen!
So wait. A year has past since the first episode? I'm confused. I thought they revived at the start of episode one, but if Aigaron killed Ian's friend a year ago...they were around...before episode one, where they revived? EH. While we're at it, Ian wasn't a Kyoryuger a year ago but they were Kyoryuger at the start of the series. When did this happen? Before Deboss revived? Why? Also I may not have been much of a fan of the character - is that an OOO reference? - but another episode, another FANTASTIC monster design. As I've said before, I'll never understand why they put so much effort into characters that are on screen for about ten minutes but I'm extremely grateful they do. Shame they put no actual effort into the power up though, the only good thing about it was the line "What incredible penetration!" since Ian already seems to have a raging hard on for Souji, it's good to know his floppy sword doesn't reflect his feelings for Ian! |

I love it when Ian shouts boy while licking his orange lips, it's my favourite part of every episode. |

Megaranger 25
A very fun Episode were we learn more about who Mega Silver is and how his powers work. I like the fact that just like the other Megaranger he is not trained to use the Megaranger gear. Mega Silver is definately a character with alot of potential so I am eager to see how he acts once he interacts more with the other Rangers. The Action in this Episode was pretty solid and the addition of Silvers time limit is pretty cool even though I am sure that its going to be forgotten aboout a few Episodes down the line :lol All in all a good Episode but nothing too spectacular. |

Kyoryuger 17. They've redone all the credits and transformation sequences? This stuff is weird for me, because I've cut out like almost ten episodes so far so I barely even registered the last one. That was kinda the problem with the whole episode, honestly. Although I am enjoying Kyoryuger more without the filler, as I'm watching the show at near double speed stuff isn't really landing that I think it otherwise would. This whole episode fell flat, honestly - what did we learn? If it doesn't work, keep doing it 'til it does! Thanks Tessai, so profound... It's a shame too, because Tessai seems pretty cool, but this episode was just so dumb. "You have no weakness so you can grow no stronger"?! What the actual fuck does this even mean? That doesn't even make any sense! I love how the two Deboss mentioned alongside this Meetior are hyped up to be these epic monsters of great importance, despite the fact they both sucked. But is this guy voiced by Franky? SUPER! The action was good though. Gold is overpowered as fuck, but I can't help feel my inner child explode with passion towards him, Gold just feels like a sixth from the past. A no nonsense badarse. I love him. Plus, I hate Toku giant stuff, but when this show tries it's really, really good at it. Although I do love the really obviously flaws in this production, the all visor helmets are original but they are also a treat every week as we watch Rangers speak to nothing, or clearly see the set is either much too large for where they are or just a green screen. Etc etc |
