They certainly are. But because Blade isn't made up of 2 complimenting or clashing colors, his design doesn't "Pop" as well as, say, Kabuto's Red on black or Double's Green/Black combination.

I think the blandness of Blade's designs coems from the lack of defining characteristics. Nothing sticks out as unique, they're all fairly generic armoured dude.

I think Blade looks fine, though. Unique and memorable in my eyes. I like the simplistic approach. He's more memorable to me than Faiz.

What's been weird for me was Wizard was my first Japanese Kamen Rider and like he has his coats and his almost knight like appearance and it's basically completely unlike anything else I've ever seen.

In all the series I've been made to try, maybe minus Agito's police Rider form, basically all the suits looked the same, with just different colours and maybe a different shaped horn and it made them all seem bland because of it.

Also, unless you only watched Agito and Kuuga, yeah that's a lie. Riders look hella different between series.

Okay I admit when stacking them side by side their differences stand out more. Basically all I remembered about Faiz was bug eyes, black Lycra and a plastic six pack.

:lol no it's just I watched four series back to back and the more streamlined, beetle centred designs bled in together.

Things like the Wizard suits and that Cop suit just stood out because they had a completely different design, obviously all those riders have different designs but they are more in the details than the entire suit being reworked from the ground up.

That's ironic, because G3 is designed as a "Mecha-Kuuga", while Agito and Faiz aren't beetles (Dragon and shark (Though the shark reference is VERY weak, admittedly), respectively) :lol

Bug eyes on Riders is like black visors on rangers. It's easier to count which series don't have them in some form. Also Agito is a dragon, but intentionally designed to resemble Kuuga, so they take the same basic shape and slightly morph it into different ideas. (Agito's dragon motif really comes out from the frilled crest and teeth-like mouthplate verses the bugly maw of Kuuga)

And honestly, and I'm not complaining I'm getting it for free and all, but most of the older Kamen Rider subbed series are released in such poor quality you can barely see the finer details.

It's been a bit of a pain with Kabuto, because it likes to show off the time mechanic (which I don't blame it for) when it's got like all that frozen rain on the screen it all becomes so pixellated I can barely see anything.

It's a sequel, and a lot of the backstory sort of elaborates on Kuuga.

BUT I haven't seen Kuuga so don't hold me to that. I just know what I am told.

Maybe if I continue to be bored by Kabuto's repetition, I might move over to Kuuga, I really liked the fight scene in that opening episode, even if the budget constraints were a little glaring in places.

And from what I know (Having never seen either :lol), the connection is that G3 (The cop mech) was designed after Unidentified Lifeform No. 4, Kuuga.

That's actually a really good explanation. Afterall, kind of drops a green one on your rider if it turns out he didn't actually destroy all the bad men.

Also two things about Wizard: Those rings are GIGANTIC. I get why they need to be big so we can see them in fights, but I wish they shrank to regular ring size when he's a person. They look so unatural and "hey look at this toy on my hand it's like wow" I just wish they were either real ring size or shrunk is all.

Also the theme song... kinda blows. It's generic, and the intro sequence is dumb. I guess I got spoiled by most rider series having awesome theme songs and cool intros.

The one thing I will say about HD in terms of a negative is although everything is clearer...in some cases that isn't exactly a good thing, I think most of the props in Wizard look very cheap and plasticy and although Wizard has had some great suits, some of the monsters on that show look fucking awful. At least in the older series the low resolution and general compression kinda hides this somewhat.

Cheap-looking props and bad monsters are the name of the game, man. Remember, these shows are on a budget, and not a very large or consistent one.

Oh of course but you have to remember most of my Power Rangers I saw on TV was when I was a kid, so I barely noticed. Most of the Power Rangers I watched as an adult was encoded and ripped so poorly the quality was too low to notice just how bad the props and suits were.

It's only been later Sentai and Wizard that have been in beautiful HD and I can really see just how poor everything looks :lol

I love all of the Greeed I find them to be wonderful characters. I think Uva is my favorite so far.

Yeah, Uva is an awesome character. Woefully underutilized, but still cool nonetheless.

Shampoo or whatever his name is needs to back the hell away from the camera toot-sweet par-lay-voo. He's really getting on my tits.

Hairytoes on the otherhand is seeming kind of... bland? It's like the actor wants to be all characterful and cool but he's not really given the opportunity.The cat guy bugs me. He's an unrealistic and demeaning stereotype for bipedal cats.

I didn't care for Uva. He was as basic as they come when it comes to villains.

The way I've always rationalized the suit similarities is (spoiler and major fanon follows) that since the Overlord of Light was the enemy of the Overlord of Darkness (ie God) that effectively makes him the devil. And since the Lords are angels, that makes the Agito demons. So if the Rinto made Kuuga to be their ultimate warrior against the Grongi, wouldn't it make sense to model it after something terrifying like a demon?

That's just my theory, mind you, but I like it.

I liked Uva's Cell Medal farm plan to recover without having to fight. It was an interesting plan and I wish they expanded on that idea of his.

I really like Haruto as a hero, I love a good classic hero who isn't completely overpowered at the same time.

Shunpei really, really annoyed me but he really impressed me with the Granny arc and after that I just kinda accepted him and he stopped annoying me.

I liked Cait Sith.
Then again, it could have been because he was black and he wasn't a mindless drone like the other Phantoms.

So I guess Hairytoes gets better? Well, I don't even want to say "better" since there's nothing wrong with him, he just feels unusually quiet and out-of-focus for a guy who's personable and driven.

I love Cait Sith. I wished he stuck around for more than two episodes.

I dunno really, a lot of people don't seem to like him here but he clicked with me near immediately.

For someone so quiet and serious, he hits all the right beats when it comes to comedy (then again I might just like that because his comedy is more subtle than the screaming fart jokes in your face sense of humour of a lot of toku) and for such a reserved guy most of the time Haruto's actor really shows a lot of welly and conviction in the much more emotional moments.

I dug him, even if he isn't exactly deep and nuanced. He's sort of a softer version of Takeru from Shinkenger.

So now I'm like an episode away from catching up with Wizard overall the pacing in this show is shit, isn't it?

The filler, as far as Toku goes, is fairly minimal and they offer us new forms or whatever else during those episodes to make it worthwhile. All the other time we've had a steady feed of information painting the Wizard world and the characters that populate it.

However, it is almost like there is too much happening in this series. I mean what, the show has like ten maybe fifteen episodes left now? This is basically the final leg and I realised there is just so much we don't know yet, and yet they are still pulling out now twists and concepts and so on.

I just honestly don't see how they're gonna wrap this all up by the end of the series and also deliver a satisfying finale. It's like Lost all over again.

It's not as bad as Fourze, much less Go-Busters, but yeah, it kinda is.

Watched episodes 11 and 12 of OOO and I love the development with Gotou, he's a great character too. Love Eiji's value and everything he stands for. I didn't see that coming with Dr. Maki and Kasari. Also I love the Silver Form, I'll eventually remember these sometime.

The W portion of OOO/W is fucking awesome. The OOO portion is not, and weird out of continuity stuff happens when they team up. I'd give it a watch for the W half and to see W and OOO team up.
