I'm hoping this means that rights issues regarding things like Great, Powered, the old US cartoon are no longer a concern and all will receive physical treatment in due time. Z and all subsequent series Post-Taiga may finally be included as well (hopefully).

And I also hope this does include Tiga’s Final Odyssey movie this time.

It's just a callous extermination of characters and an entire defense team that's treated as any other alien invasion.

There's no real mourning either. Everyone who remains just seems to move on.

Plus, how the hell did Moroboshi Dan survive the destruction of MAC!? There isn't any real opportunity for him to escape when anybody who tried failed.

I know the ratings were down, and they probably were trying to clean house and thought something shocking would help. They may also have just been doing whatever cause nobody was looking too closely or giving them directives.

I am finally getting back to watching Ultraman R/B and I have just finished watching episodes 16-18.

My friend showed me the Ultra-man Netflix series, I absolutely loved it. Dan Moroboshi is easily one of the most based characters in Toku, fight me internet. (Had to use a hyphen because the full word is banned for some reason)

I thought that it would be cool to see the combination of Konaka, Kitaura, and ,Kawasaki again.

Silverbloome isn't the only question in my mind.

How many Ultras can alter their size and mass at will? Ultraseven can fight as human-sized and even micro-sized. Z also revealed that he can also assume a human-sized state for a short time. It's not uncommon for extraterrestrials in Ultra to be able to grow on their own, but the Ultras themselves seem unable or unwilling to shrink down too often, but it has happened.

I'd file this under "They can all do it, it's just not pictured on screen".

Doesn't really make sense for this to be a technique reserved to only a few when they all have "rise" animations that show them growing in size. No one's stopping them from either not growing giant or shrinking down other than the producer of the show.

So why didn't 'Man' shrink down to fight alongside Ichigo as opposed to Ichigo growing to giant size in "Ultraman VS. Kamen Rider"?

Is it because 'Man' should always be depicted as a giant and because it's cooler to see Ichigo enlarge himself?

The second part of that last sentence is admittedly true!

Ultraman Rising was really good. I recommend it to anyone who has Netflix.

You know what I think works for this movie? That ambiguously Showa vibe they have going on. It has the Batman TAS effect where it feels retro but modern at the same time. Did you get that when watching it?

Oh yeah, absolutely.

I also liked how it was also clear that the animation style was inspired by Spider-Verse, but unlike alot of other imitators I've seen, they actually realized what made it work, and worked it into their own style that fit the movie.

And Yuuki Yamada aka Gokai Blue was the perfect choice for Ken in the Japanese dub. Not only was the man's dad all about baseball having played for the Dragons and the Carps and later moving on to coach both teams until 2021, but his voice well-suited Ken.

I assume it just worked better, seeing Ultraman shrink down wouldn?t be much of a surprise given that other Ultra did it already, but Rider 1 growing giant-size is unexpected and more fun.

Ultraman Rising is really good. I love how it turned out.

Plus it gave me this to listen to on repeat for the last week, freakin' awesome song.

I saw Ultraman: Rising right around the same day it was released on Netflix. It is a very solid movie albeit not without a few hiccups.

Anyway, I watched some more episodes of Ultraman R/B over the last few days. I now have only 2 episodes to go.

Having finished Blazar and Rising, is there any recommendations that people can give for me while I wait for Arc?

I would recommend Orb.

The Ultraman shows that came to my mind in terms of recommendations are Ultraseven, Tiga, Mebius, Orb, Z, Geed, X and, to a somewhat lesser extent, the original Ultraman series and Max. Oh, and if you want to include movies into the mix, there’s The Superior 8 Ultra Brothers, Ultra Galaxy Legends, and Ultraman Zero: The Revenge of Belial. Other movies I would’ve recommended like Final Odyssey as well as X and Geed’s own films that take place after the events of their respective seasons but there’s a risk of potential spoilers if you watch them before jumping into these particular shows.

I will always recommend Max as a really fun show.

Watching everything in order really makes Mebius a special show, beyond the fact that it's just a very sincere and well-produced Ultra show.

But they should have had Kotaro, dang it...

Yeah, from what I've heard he still has love for Taro and the franchise and is pals with alumni but he seems to prefer not to do any reprisals, and to paraphrase, he prefers to leave it as a good memory of his younger days back when he was a young and hungry rookie breaking into the business. He has been contacted by Tsuburaya for reprisals a few times but apparently turned them all down because of the above reasons.

I have finished Ultraman R/B a couple of days and I am now finishing up its post-series movie.

Only a week till Arc begins. I'm a little ways into Z so far and I'm quite enjoying it.

The show where a monochromatic repaint of Orb is the villain but is what the show and fans needed because Aizen. :lolol

Started Ultraman Geed. Had a small taste of the series thanks to Z and the various Chronicle episodes and still the most series I was looking forward to explore.

Z is also my first exposure to Geed and I finally got around to watching this series earlier this year. Hope you have fun with the show just as much as I have.

Incidentally, I inexplicably started on watching Ultraman: Toward The Future/Ultraman Great on YouTube.

One of the entries I'm hoping Mill Creek finally secured the rights to. The renewed deal which got them Taiga apparently doesn't end with Taiga, so I have some hope that Great and Powered will finally get some renewed recognition.

Of course. I am rather cautiously optimistic about this upcoming series and, like with Blazar, I am planning to watch Arc both in Japanese and in English.

I didn't expect us to start off an Ultra show in media res with the Ultra already active and fighting Kaiju, complete with battling against Not!Zetton, Gomora, and Red King in found footage!

Definitely some mystery to explore with why our dedicated and affable protagonist Yuma ended up bonded with Ultraman Arc and exactly what he is besides childhood scribbles Yuma came up with. Are we going to see an origin episode and possibly what happened on K-Day?

The OP is pretty fun and upbeat, fitting the vibe of this show, and interesting touch to actually feature footage of the episode during the OP along with all the usual Ultra OP stuff like the new Kaiju, form changes, etc. I really like the ending with SKIP dashing forward alongside Arc.

There were seven Kaiju that appeared on K-Day? Are they all dead? It sounds like the Space Kaiju is and the only thing left of it is the monohorn.

SKIP is not an Attack Team, they are not meant to be fighting Kaiju, merely respond to, investigate, and handle the fallout of Kaiju. Which I guess is Attack Team-ish, but more supportive than offensive. Plus, we have a robot that answers phone calls!

I wish I had a boss that was also Abare Red. Ban seems like an easygoing but committed boss and Rin also seems like a cute and nice senior member.

Shagong, The Armored Kaiju (I was worried for a second he wasn't going to get the typical Kaiju intro)! I almost felt bad for him that it was the Oo-ze that was driving him to attack and not of his own free will, though it sounds like Shagong's are normally problems. Watch out for that popping head, acid, and armor spikes!

PiBody having it's tongue out when YouPi is YouBot is...something. Is it supposed to be like a dog waiting for it's master...?

Ishido is a professional and serious GDP official...and he also takes his coffee VERY seriously. Honestly I was as surprised as he was that they didn't have ANY kind of coffee. Dude looked like he was about to have a panic attack.

I sense some friction between SKIP and the GDP...which I guess Ishido is meant to resolve.

Ah, the classic "somebody around the protagonist gets knocked unconscious so they can transform." They even did the "Oiiii!" when the protagonist runs to his team after the fight is over!

Arc has a very pleasant voice.

I like how the transformation device just pops up out of his chest and Arc embraces him when they transform.

Imagine an Ultra fight told entirely through camera footage ala the 24/7 Xio episode in X. Some of the camera angles were a little...impossible, but still cool. I also like how there were actually people in the miniature buildings for once.

That's using your imagination! Breaking the barrier and stabbing Shagong with it to open it up for an Ultra Beam and then finishing Oo-ze off with the sword! Arc/Yuma have definitely got style!

Z flew off with a Z, Arc flies off with an arc! That's how he got his name! One of the rare instances where someone other than the protagonist names their Ultra identity.

I KNEW Ishido was going to be bringing the coffee maker with him.

The ED is pretty fun and makes you want to bust a move. I also like how instead of just doing the usual ED recap they have YouPi come out to show footage to justify the recap.

But anyway, as much as I miss Ultraman Blazar and its cast, I'm definitely looking forward to Ultraman Arc! And so far, it's been off to a great start!

It's nice to see more new Kaiju moving forward, but I like how in the case of Blazar, the monsters were almost Heisei-esque, Arc's rogue's gallery seems to be more Showa inspired, which I'm all for! It's also interesting how this isn't the first time Ultraman Arc has appeared in this show, which I thought for sure was not going to be the case here, but that along with the setting around the Kaiju definitely have me intrigued.

But perhaps my favorite bit here is that fight scene was around three minutes, which is just *chef's kiss* perfection! And the little in-building shots made it even better.

The opening probably doesn't top Blazar's but it's enjoyable, and the ending is particularly grooving. Overall, again, I think Arc is off to a great start so far!
