The way the rights work is when a studio purchased film rights to a character they also buy the character and all associated characters. If those characters happen to appear in multiple works besides the namesake the studio purchased (with exception of the titular character(s)) then they have no choice but to share the rights of those characters with Marvel or another studio. But most studios won't share the characters in tandem with a shared universe. Perfect example of this is the use of Quick Silver in both Fox's X-Men franchise and Disney's MCU. Theoretically Sony and Fox could have done the same thing with Kingpin back in the early 00's. We did see this with Disney/Netflix's Daredevil and Sony's Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse in this recent decade. Sony and Disney's deal allowed Spider-Man to be shared in the MCU. Only Spider-Man/Peter Parker, Aunt May, and Ned were allowed in the MCU proper. Each film Sony made the two studios had to agree on what characters Sony and what characters Disney were willing to share. So if the deal is truly dead only Tom Holland's Spider-Man is allowed to be kept in future installments. All other Sony owned characters will have to be rebooted or abandoned and no Disney owned characters can appear or even be mentioned. |

Whatever it takes, I don’t care. Just get Spidey back home in the MCU where he belongs.
Even if it means buying Sony. |

That said Disney could convince Sony to sell Columbia Pictures assets to a rival studio which would make Sony's rights to Spider-Man expire and revert back to Disney. That said Sony will still maintain a stake in Spider-Man as not only did Sony buy the film rights to Spider-Man from Marvel they also bought a stake in the character in all forms of media. Anything Disney does with Spider-Man must be signed off by Sony first. All hope is not lost though. We may have a year without Spider-Man in the MCU as Disney and Sony continue to hash things out. If all talk is dead, Sony will move forward with a reboot as John Watts has left Sony (allegedly) and Tom Holland's contract allows for him to walk if the Sony/Disney deal falls through. Any Spider-Man films produced by Sony will likely see Dark Phoenix box office numbers due to the court of opinion objecting to yet another non-MCU Spidey. Also back in 2011 Sony sold all merchandising rights of Spider-Man back to Disney. Disney has the upper hand as they can effectively destroy any and all marketing of Sony's non-MCU Spidey films. |

While "court of opinion" is remarkably powerful and could stifle a live-action Spidey, a follow-up to the aforementioned animated spectacular is another matter entirely. Even people who don't care for Sony's Marvel Movies or Marvel Comics in general absolutely loved that particular entry... and I agree with them! Sony marketing such a sequel is the one thing (outside of a Spider-Gwen Movie) that Disney can't successfully inhibit! If Sony wants their films in the MCU via a formal deal with Disney, then everything they make from here on out should reflect that! |
One thing about Spiderverse is that Disney would have never let something like that happen, just like how Fox made Logan and the Deadpool movies. It's something amazing that we wouldn't have had otherwise

Three new shows confirmed for Disney+:
*Ms Marvel *Moon Knight *She-Hulk. |
Hm. On one hand, I'm a big Ms. Marvel fan; so I should be really excited about this. But something about it really rings hollow. Maybe it's just my distaste of Disney now...
|
In other news, US Agent will be a thing in Falcon & Bucky played by Wyatt Russell.
|
I was hoping Moon Knight will be on Hulu with Ghost Rider and the rumor Man-Thing series. She Hulk being in the MCU is long overdue in my opinion.

The only things that interest me are Wandavision, What If..., Doctor Strange into the Multiverse of Madness, She Hulk, and maybe Moon Knight. But now that Spider-Man is out of the MCU I doubt I'll watch any of it.

People are freaking out over this when it is just a rumor at the moment. |

Just based on what little I have seen and know of She-Hulk, I personally think either Stephanie Beatriz, Zooey Deschanel, or Jordana Brewster would be nice candidates for the role of Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk. Heck, the She-Hulk portion of the show will probably be CGI anyways, so in the end it really boils down to who is believable as Jen Walters for me.

Deadpool 3 has been confirmed to be rated R by Disney. Ryan Reynolds has met with Marvel Studios to pitch the story and awaiting the eventual green light. Rumor has it that Spider-Man and Deadpool will meet somewhere in phase 4 or 5.
|
I want stand alone Deadpool to be R rated, but still have him up show in other PG-13 movies for crossovers. There's a lot of jokes that you could do with him in the MCU like:
"I forgot that I can't say that because this is a family movie" "If this movie is PG-13, I can say Fuck at least once right?....Oh shit" "Oh hi Hulk, are you mad that you can't get another solo movie?" |

I love how it's not really a reboot, though. In fact, it leverages, in broad strokes, a lot of what other writers did with the franchise to motivate what Hickman's doing. But, yeah, it still feels totally fresh, while exciting a TON of lapsed fans. I'm expecting a bunch of newly-returned X-Men fans to be giving non-fans the HoX/PoX hardcover as a holiday gift this year. The craziest thing to keep in mind is that HoX and Pox were the start of the story Hickman's telling. The start. Where the hell could he possibly be going with this?! |
