The Melon Defender alone is gorgeous. I'm pleased to see that they incorporated a handle-swapping function like with most Gundam releases.

Seeing as I'm only about 8 months into this hobby full-time, are Sentai figuart announcements usually this slow? We seem to get new Riders every couple of weeks but Rangers tend to have a couple of months between announcements.

More or less. Akibaranger helped push out figures much faster, but Kamen Rider is much, much more popular and sells far better. The Sentai Figuarts seem to be the poorest performing of their three big franchises, with few releases, a lot of exclusives and quick and heavy discounts. It's why a lot of people worried that the line had been completely killed off recently.

I don't expect to see Sentai at WonFes next month, but if nothing else, we should see the ToQGers pretty soon and I'm hoping for some more Showa guys.

I have to wonder how they're doing over here while marketed under the Power Rangers name. If they're doing relatively well, it's possible they could start putting them out as US/EU-first releases and then JP. Wishful thinking, I know.

I think any other Showa releases will be red rangers, but all that is going to ride on the how Akaranger sells

Well, he's still available on Amiami so right now he's doing about as well as any other Sentai Figuart.

ToQGer must be doing pretty well if we're getting pRemium bandai exclusive mechs.

It could happen, the DBZ and MonsterArts releases are pretty much just for the US at this point. But aside from MMPR, I doubt any of the Sentai/PR stuff would do significantly better than it does in Japan.

Akaranger seems like a bit of a test to see if fans will be more interested in the older stuff.

It first takes someone caring enough to make them sell better. If Bandai just puts in as much little half assed effort as they are for Sentai, they aren't going to sell well. If Bandai actually puts care and effort into marketing them, by doing thinks like releasing full team box sets, then I bet sales will pick up. They need to get their thumbs out of their asses and just start trying something. I'd rather they tried to do a few full team box sets and fail and stop than to just say, "OH, rangers don't sell, so we aren't going to do jack crap about it."

I want them to finish the Dai and Jet teams before they even poop out the ToQs.
