It came out today. Both titles are in the book and i'm going to assume they're in order by story/chronologically not by title/series.

Does anyone know what the hardcover looks like precisely? At the moment, I cannot find an image nor verification-of-existence! Estimated price tag would also be good.

It's $60. There're two covers, a new Pepe Larraz cover available everywhere, and a comic shop-only cover featuring Mark Brooks' Hox #1/PoX #1 covers.

And, I just checked my copy, the chapters are in the correct reading order. (Hox #1/Pox #1/Hox #2, etc.)

And and, it's got every cover for the whole series in the back, along with some of the character designs that got published in a HoX/PoX preview book before the series started.

And and and, just, it's definitive. It's the whole series, every page, including (I think!) some corrected pages where they screwed up some charts in the original comic chapters.

I hope they will adapt Carnage better than they did in the 90s cartoon. Carnage and The Punisher were too inappropriate for a kids show.

I never understood why studios even tried adding characters they know are not suited for that audience into the shows.

But I wonder how Disney will handle the news of another one of their IPs being adapted to an R rated film, and how they will proceed with the shared ownership of Spider-Man (I do not believe it ends after this new deal). We have yet to see what Disney will do with Deadpool 3. They say the property will remain rated R on his solo outings, but I'll believe it when I see it.

They said the first Venom movie may be R rated and it didn't happen. I believe it until I see it. It's rare for a PG-13 movie to get an R rated sequel.

Ultimately, they tried to make an animated crosscut of Spider-Man history up to that point, slashing characters only for pragmatic reasons or because they ran out of time! Punisher and Carnage were questionable choices, but the old Toy Biz figures produced toys of anyone and everyone, questionable or not. On top of that, after re-watching the animated Punisher and Carnage, I think they handled them well. They never said outright that Carnage was a "killer" or "murderer", leaving that one to subtext. Carnage's outlook on life was obvious when he stole life-forces and was ultimately sealed away in an alternate dimension, removing his questionable characterization from the fight. When Punisher was introduced, Jameson thought they could make him look like a hero, but Robbie threw shade at that idea cause Frank Castle has a history of using "lethal force". When Punisher fought Kraven, Castle was constantly told to end his quest for vengeance, and Castle's partner Chip ("Microchip") was always skittish about Frank using lethal weapons.

I wonder who is playing Tony Masters in Black Widow. Still no reveal about who it is on IMDB or anything yet.

With how little the character takes his mask off in the comics, I'd be fine with the filmmakers just dubbing in a voice actor and leaving the suit actor as a pro stunt guy who...

Looks interesting, and has explicit references to Spider-Man, and the MCU with Michael Keaton’s Vulture.

I don't have much hope for the movie given how mediocre Venom turn out. Morbius getting his own stand-alone movie is not that random because he did his own standalone series ages ago.

Avengers Endgame got completely shafted by the Oscars with 0 nominations.

Being the highest grossing movie does not mean high quality work of art. You have many movies that make over half of billion dollars or more that are terrible. Avengers: Endgame was not a bad movie, but hardly the best movie of the year in my opinion.

There's way better movies that came out this year and I agree with the Academy Award lineup for best picture for once in a while. I also don't think the Oscars are the end all be be-all-end-all, but I do think there are some movies that do deserved the hard work and effort for best picture.

For some reason this does not bug me as much as Venom in terms of first impressions.

So here's a question. When the X-Men appear in the MCU, would you prefer their start being the classic Xavier School For Gifted Youngsters VS Brotherhood Of Mutants, or the current Krakoa VS The World?

I'd like to see some type of unity between the two, like mutants against the world sorta thing. Current MCU characters would help Xavier see the good in humanity, while Magneto will defect from Charles's school and take a group of followers with him to form the Brotherhood of Mutants. They won't necessarily be the focused villains but will be the thorn in the side of the X-Men and most MCU heroes. Krakoa could be used down the line to establish a new X-Men team after the one we'll be getting fractures. Aside from Deadpool, Disney really has to start from scratch with the X-Men. Could they reuse some actors? Possibly, like they did with J Jonah Jamesson, but they won't necessarily be the same version they played in the older incarnations.

Yeah, a part of me wants the current continuity to be the basis cause I am enjoying it and the classic plot could end up being been there done that even for the mainstream viewers, while the other side of me would like a mix bag of TAS and Evolution cause TAS is kind of the golden standard and I liked the character dynamics in Evolution.

I feel like the X-Men are going to show in the MCU from a universal wormhole. It would be odd that if the X-Men have been living behind the scenes for so long, and didn't show up until the 2020s.

I think it'll be awhile before we see a full X-Men team show up in the MCU, but I think we'll see mutants before that. Like, I think we'll see Wolverine pop up in something within the next 18 months. (I really think it's going to be Black Widow.) After that, he might show up in a few other places, longer scenes, or we may get a Storm appearance, some other famous X-Man. Then I think we'll get an X-Men movie, once they're a little more established within the MCU, like Spider-Man was.

If they take the route you suggested maybe Dr. Strange 2 dropping a quick reference to them? Cause it is gonna be about multiverses if I recall so makes sense if they ever do that. :rock:

Ooh, that would be nice too. Basically make Logan what Phil was to phase 1. Maybe they could drop Bobby Drake in the 3rd MCU Spider-Man movie quickly passing by while sipping some cold beverage of sort and Angelica Jones is sipping on a warm beverage.

The best answer, assuming of course that they go for the "X-Men did things behind the scenes" route, would be to make it a period piece like Captain Marvel or Captain America where they do their thing and then something happens which removes them from the action until present day.

I would say and it's the most obvious one to be picked would be Xavier School For Gifted Youngsters VS Brotherhood of Mutants. Krakoa VS The World would be too big of an introduction for the X-Men into the MCU. It relies so much on the history and influence of mutants and the X-Men as a whole on the Marvel Universe up until 2019/20. Like with Civil War, there's no way the MCU could accurately adapt House/Power/Dawn of X and it would be too grand of a choice to use as the basis for mutant introduction to the MCU

Yeah, you do have a point. The reason I thought about Krakoa VS The World was because people are somewhat familiar with the classic setup so if that seems like a boring choice when they get introduced into the MCU maybe it can be a plan b? But now that I think about it I would like to see MCU do it properly.

Yeah, it... the HoX/PoX stuff, it's great, it's really wonderful storytelling. But the weight of it in-universe is because it's a huge change for how mutants view the world and vice versa. It's tough to lead with a huge change. The core Xavier's School concept, or some iteration on it, is an easier way in for a lot folks on the X-Men. It's something people already have an understanding of.

That said! There are a whole bunch of people super into what Hickman's doing that never read an X-Men comic before. They maybe know the X-Men through movies and a cartoon or something. If HoX/PoX can work for them, maybe it can work for MCU fans?

I also think the F4 and Galactus are going to show in the MCU via universal worm hole. The second Spider-Man movie in the MCU open up the idea of having a multiverse.

I wonder if Black Widow will be pushed back or be added on Disney+ instead?

Hmm, I kinda wanna see them be the new Cap of the MCU as in the next not-with-the-times heroes as of Phase 4. Only difference would be they would be given a more light/comedic setup compared to Cap.
