It's also a possibility that Kouta was entering shock. Additionally, Kouta has been established as someone who freezes in fear. Really, with everything he endured in that day, why wouldn't he?

I guess if it was shock, it would fit with the shows handling of human emotions, I could give it credit for that. Maybe the next episode will confirm the reasoning behind Kouta's lack of action.

Yeah, that was amazing. The big twist had been guessed awhile back, but it's still crazy and the execution was awesome.
