I'd wager the movie might be CG animated and very kid friendly. If it is, that's gonna suck because then we we'll see some horrible proportions on what should be human beings.

Though if it is live-action, I hope the teen drama shit is cut out of it. Most likely it won't but it'd be nice. I didn't read the entire article, so I don't know if it's already said the movie will for sure be live-action.

I think the hate for Bay is largely unfounded. Sure he plays loose and fast on the stuff he is adapting, but then neo-Saban can't even be bothered to properly reference and build on their own mythology.

And since we know Bay is competent in making big, fun, crowd pleasing spectacles I think he'd be a great match. Once we've got the crowd hooked, then the franchise can look for a director who is more interested in more story, character driven narratives who can still juggle action like Marc Webb maybe.
