So does that mean we'll see Mezools arm on Shauta combo?
|
So I just got my first sic set, Skull and Fang Joker. Can't wait for it to arrive!
|
Awesome! Skull's hat doesn't stay on so well, but both are really great figures. Fang Joker is a particular favorite of mine. He just looks so mean
|
Skull's hat will need help staying on. Luckily the nature of the hat means putting a little sticky tac or a piece of rolled tap in there is easy and invisible.
Fangjoker is pretty much perfect. Only real points you need to be aware of is on all W SICs the ''skirt'' pieces that cover the hips are ruber, but a bit stiff at first, and FangJoker's right hand takes extra care to swap since the peg itself is removable for arm fang. Skull/FangJoker is easily the best standalone set, not needing any other SIC to get full enjoyment out it, or has a boatload of pieces for another set to use. All the W sets rock withe shear level of options, "gimmicks" and value on top of just awesome figures, but Skull and FangJoker feel complete and statisfying without the need to go full completist. |

I just opened mine. The ankles are a little restricted by design, but past that it is very easily the most poseable SIC I own. Love all the clear parts. I figured the pinstripe down the side would just be painted, but it's clear. Not a fan of the base, but overall wow.

So OOO Sagozo preorders have opened at various retailers; it'll be a July release. Very excited for this one.
|
Fucking ass. I've been in the house all week, I leave for an hour to meet my Dad for his birthday and THEN my sics come. Fucking fuck. It isn't even like it's round the corner, I may have to wait a week until I can get a lift up there, fuck.
|
Got my SICs in today. LOVED THE SET. Some of the hand swapping is a pain, the leg joints are really awkward and I kept having the arms fall off (not like just dropping off) but the way they are done is awkward so they pop off.
Speaking more specifically designwise, I'm pretty sad Skull's hat looks so goofy in toy form and although the Gaia Memory swap and change idea is admirable. I can't wait to lose all of them. That aside though, the sheer quality AND quantity of what you get means I will never look at a SHF release the same. |
The W SICs, all of them, are easily a highlight of my collection. They have a shelf front and center all to themselves. I've had them for months and I still haven't used all the display options because there are so many. They're some of the best value things I own, and just fun.
I find the leg joints, the hips, give a bit over time. It's a bit weird because outof the box they naturally angle in, so it doesn't look like you're supposed to put them over the leg (especially since that bends it out but they warp back pretty easily) but once you do the legs can move forward a full 90 degrees, coupled with the extremely awesome ab crunches these have, there's some awsome posing to be had after exploration. I find the hands are pretty random with which ones are tight to swap. All the Joker/Skull hands are super tight, same with Fang, but the Heat, Luna, Cyclone, Trigger and Metal hands all swap what I would say is perfectly. Must be the base plastics used for the coloured ones. |
I have to date only lost one memory. It was the Metal memory from the Skull set, which is far too clear, and as soon as you drop it, it vanishes. :(
Coincidentally, I also thought I lost the Metal memory from the HM/LT set, when I boxed them up to move I couldn't find it, but then, strangely, when I unpacked them again, I found the memory had somehow stuck to the side of the metal shaft in such a way that I just never noticed it. But yeah, definitely be careful with the Memories. |
Luckily, outside of the original CycloneJoker, the memories in the W SICs hold in nicely in drivers and drive slots. Unless you leave them out, there shouldn't be too much chance of loosing. But be careful, and try to handle them somewhere where there's no places for them to dissapear to.
|
That's probably going to vary from sample to sample. The Metal side and I think the Luna side (or maybe it was Heat and Metal) of mine were loose, which was why Metal always was jumping out of the driver, until it was lost.
As for Skull, I think Metal must have been slightly smaller than the others, because they all fit snugly in the case, but Metal was always loose. Again, hence that's the one that I lost. |
Maybe a thin layer of nail polish on the sides?
|
...
That's a really good idea. That's something I should have thought about BEFORE I lost one of the memories. D: |
That's how I got my Fang memory to stay in when it became loose during formswap fun.
It was so weird. It stayed in just fine, but along the way it lost any grip. Tried every single driver, even the lost driver. Never did figure it out. |
Opening some of the SICs I picked up from my January AmiAmi order:
Den-O Super Climax - Like the Figuart, this exclusive doesn't appear much different from the retail release SIC version aside from the addition of the wings. Still, my favorite Den-O suit and looks good in this line. Super 1 - The take on the gloves is great and I appreciate the scarf having a hinge joint to allow for some extra posability. Shoulders are a bit limited, but I'm enjoying this release more than I anticipated. ZX - SIC has done more to help me like the Showa suits, just like OOO, since I've really enjoyed the exaggerated take on them. That said, ZX feels a bit like it took some minor steps back compared to Super 1 (no hinge joint on his scarf piece, ball joints for his hands instead of the peg/hinge joint bit on every other SIC I own). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psnfh2r0o1.jpg |
Super 1 is just badass, I love all the gauntlets and how they translated to the S.I.C. format. I've seen awesome stuff with ZX as well
|
sorry if this is in the wrong thread, but where would I order the super robot chogokin hello kitty for pre-order?

Sooooooo TheBee arrived yesterday.
Packaging's similar to the recent Tamashii exclusives - no window, but still similar to the previous retail Kabuto Rider releases' packaging. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psiq76t1lf.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psuhzshnrk.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pszfftwxi4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psck0mlipo.jpg He...really doesn't come with much. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psanymvd06.jpg Bodywise, no QC issues. Die-cast panels on the sides of his legs stay in pretty tightly, unlike the Dark Kabuto I have. Eyes are a very dark clear yellow, which gives a "dead eye" appearance; I think I would've preferred a lighter yellow be used. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psutddahyl.jpg Three options for his Bee Zecter (lighting isn't great here, the clear yellow on the effect part and the wings on the bee are actually a more darker yellow than they appear here). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps9xf4ieqg.jpg Wings on the bee can also swivel up and down. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psi1uugmbe.jpg With the effect part, the energy bits are wide enough that depending on how you have his arm posed, it can get in the way of a more dramatic pose. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psmnantj8z.jpg It's a nice figure, but it's definitely something that is lacking in the accessory department. The Hopper Bros. were too, but they were a two-pack retail release; this is a solo web exclusive, so it's a bit disappointing. I wish they'd thrown in the parts for Masked Form to give him more bang for your buck. If you love the Kabuto Riders (I love the designs from that series) I suppose it's worth it, I just hope you don't have to spend too much to acquire him. |
FINALLY had time to mess with the Hoppers...wow, word effect pieces I have ever handled...they do have personality, and while I don't regret them...man they are SIMPLE SICs...

Time to bring this thread back from the dead for the brand-new SIC Sagohzo.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pssjlsgtda.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psazfm6z2s.jpg (Totally forgot one of the accessories is an extra Gatakiriba head: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psx0wtsblc.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pszcm2nnrg.jpg Even without the extra parts, he's really bulky. His shoulder part is stiff at first, but there IS a hinge joint it attaches to, allowing for him to actually raise his arms up fully and giving him some level of posability at the shoulders. Either way though, he doesn't have the greatest posability in the shoulders or elbows due to the shoulder pads & gauntlets getting in the way of each other. Hip armor is on a hinge and easy to move out of the way when posing the arms & legs. O-scanner and medal thingy actually peg into the hip armor rather than the belt, which is nice since I found they're more out of the way and not as easy to knock off while handling the figure, unlike his other OOO brethren (they also peg in much more securely). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psyqggiydl.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psygah7k75.jpg It's not easy to attempt a "ground-pounding pose. When posed with his back leaning backwards, he's also quite back-heavy and easy to tip over (what little die-cast he appears to have located in his legs but is inconsequential in terms of balancing). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps6widuzmn.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps5cmrxla2.jpg Gauntlets are very easy to pop back on and off. There's a large groove that the wrist cuff slides into when popping the gauntlets on. Without the gauntlets on, he does come with extra "normal" hands but no other accessories to really take advantage of the "unarmored" look. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pso3xzduu5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pszfcn9ix2.jpg With the gorilla arm and elephant leg parts added on, he's even bulkier than before...and with roughly the same amount of posability, for better or worse. His fingers can move on a hinge but they're molded together, and the thumb isn't jointed so they're only so much you can do with it. Legs do have an ankle joint and a flap for the elephant ears to fold out; not sure if accidental or not, but the elephant snots can move up a smidgen, but it's barely noticeable. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psn8y9ttyk.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psuhiiw40x.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psh5ydgd6v.jpg Overall, I'm still pleased with it, but it's not quite as dynamic as the other OOO releases (though understandably so, given how bulky he is in both modes). Here's my new OOO lineup (forgive the dust). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps3vljm0r7.jpg |
That is awesome. Someday I hope to have both the space and money to pick up all the SIC OOOs figures, they look fantastic.

Alright so this is the second time this has happened but I had my newly arrived SIC KT Ultimate Rising Kuuga break on me while I was trying to unstick his arm swivels. Any tips to prevent future incidents like this? Should I be more patient? Am I just unlucky?
|
I've had a little trouble with some SIC KTs, but not that one (although his leg does fall off sometimes). The only serious breaks I've had were Garo's fist (ball joint stuck in the wrist - common problem) and Blade's shoulder pad (terrible design but easily patched with glue).
|
I hadn't had any issues with my KTs, though I only have six. I do have Kuuga Rising Ultimate and haven't experienced any problems though.
|
So I wanted to get the new versions of Ichigo and Nigo but only saw that Nigo was released in his original colors. I saw a pic of the new Version in his Shin form (Silver Helmet,Red Boots etc.) so was this release scraped or is that version still coming out?

Wizard!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pss9dtdfjw.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psrpozhmck.jpg QC-wise, there are some paint issues. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pssmp9mraz.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psbx81fiil.jpg Though not as easily noticeable here as in-hand, there are two silver splotches on the clear red pieces on the right side of the trenchcoat. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psst773hsg.jpg The silver on the right marking on the back of his collar is off, compared to the one on the left. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psushz1j8k.jpg Additionally, the dragon on his right shoulder pad is also off, whereas the one on the left pad is largely fine. Right: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psn3hxwoew.jpg Left: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps1oue55le.jpg Not a huge thing, but some people may take issue with it if theirs has similar issues. On the rest of him, the "skirt" pieces of his trenchcoat are actually two separate sections on hinge joints. Each section has two parts to it, also on hinge joints. The posability is grants Wizard is nice; it also doesn't screw with his balance much as he can still stand easily with the skirt pieces parallel to the ground (I suppose the die cast pieces on his legs may help a bit here). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psasjizaso.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psyae8eure.jpg He has two separate WizarSwordGuns like the Figuart. Unlike the Figuart, the hand pieces are not articulated. Instead, there are two separate open-hand pieces that can be swapped out for the closed-hand pieces each weapon comes with. (That kind of surprised me, considering the smaller Figuart weapons are articulated, and some previous SIC weapons are articulated in ways I could understand that the Figuarts line wouldn't attempt.) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psackktmi1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psuzomf2xw.jpg Red Garuda is a softer clear plastic compared to its Figuarts version. The legs are articulated (swivel back & forth) but nothing more. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pslkqd1om1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pswepsvei0.jpg To my surprise, Wizard comes with one of the Tamashii stages they've packed in with a few previous SICs. It works about as well as these stages do with SICs...meaning not great. If you want any kind of airborne pose, you really have to work with it to find the right balance so it doesn't tip over. The stage connects to Wizard via a peg in his back which is exposed by removing a piece from the back of his belt. I don't know if the clawed pieces would've worked better, but I do wish they'd been included as an option. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psg5ufxexp.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pssi683rxc.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pswepgdagv.jpg As for Fire Chicken mode, it looks better in-hand to me than it has in pics I've seen, as the feet look a bit less like chicken feet slippers. The head piece replaces the middle antenna on his head; it's not the greatest connection and unpegs a bit easily. A longer peg or multiple connection points would've been preferred. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps8hqd2fsd.jpg Remove some pieces from his back to peg in the wings. Those pieces were in there pretty tight on mine so be careful as you remove them that they don't shoot off like one did to me (thankfully I found it after). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps0hpfi1bk.jpg The feet literally just slide onto the normal feet. It's actually a tight connection, so no worry of them falling off as you move Wizard around. There are small "L" and "R" designations, so they're not interchangeable. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psuhptxulk.jpg Finished product isn't bad. It's not as impressive as the bulked-up OOO figures, but a lot better in-hand as the feet don't look as silly as I feared. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps0gvm19gi.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psyqwodqcs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pscuceurfd.jpg Nice release; not the OOO figures but still eye-catching for me. I hope they get a bit more ambitious with future Wizard releases though. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psakrpwllx.jpg |
Thanks for the review! Couldn't be more excited for this guy to arrive.
|
Hmmm maybe they plan on shrinking wizard for the next KT release. I'm spit balling here because i like KTs and wizard has the removable belt piece Decade and Kuuga have
