Her simply dying is not interesting. Avatar has shown that it can handle death as Matrix and I have pointed out in just a few examples. What makes it more interesting is why she chose to disappear. Think about it, if she was murdered, the story is straightforward enough. Ozai is evil, and she was good and Zuko should have revenge. But she ran, implying she had something to do with the plot, that there was more than meets the eye. That is also why she was a more interesting character than Warren McGinnis. I am not saying this was the only way they could have done the story, I am merely saying that explicit death is not the only plot-line a show can use. Quote:

You, and thousands of others, praise Avatar but that doesn't change that it did nothing for me.
I love Shounen anime already and Japan doesn't have nearly the same limitations in telling its stories, so I'd rather watch those. Or American animated series who recognise their limitations and work around them to better their shows. Even Alien Force had more mature story telling and better stakes than Avatar. And as much as you can tell me Avatar did that and go into a scene I remember nothing about because I've long since forgotten about the show as I cared nothing for it, I didn't feel Avatar did at the time, which is why I gave up on it and haven't watched it again since. |

>There were cause and effect in Avatar (Aang and co exploring Wong Shi Tong's Library led to Appa's kidnapping while also telling the characters the day of the solar eclipse (A day which Firebenders lose their power), setting up the plot for the remainded of the season; Azula working with Long Feng led to her backstabbing Long Feng, taking command of the Dai Li, leading to the capture of Ba Sing Se, capital of the Earth Kingdom) >Consequence (Everything in Season 3) >Actual stakes and tension (You're bullshitting me here. There was so little tension in Alien Force I think even Ben acknowledged how little threat his enemies truly were) I don't have a problem with you not liking Avatar, really, I don't. But it seems that you just choose to ignore what happened in Avatar just because "It didn't show me this guy getting burned to death, so it's kiddy." |

I thought all of Avatar was good, bar like, 5 episodes from Season 1. Like I said, there's nothing wrong with disliking the show, but your reasoning is just factually wrong. People die. Actions have consequences. Romances are more than just "They kind of sorta maybe like each other." And a lot of this occurs, or are at least set up, in seasons 1 and 2, not just 3. Much like how I'm free to despise Decade, you're free to loathe Avatar, but your statements seem like you watched for 5 minutes then just tuned out the remaining 15 for each episode you watched. |

At the very least, you could watch Doug Walker's Vlogs on the series. He's recently finished the first season, and he does a really good job detailing what happened in the episode and why he did or did not like it. They usually range from 9-12 minutes, so it shouldn't be too time-consuming.
I will say this, early Alien Force did feel like it had tension and an over-arching story. It also felt like a continuation of Ben as a character—he's cooled off, grown up, and moved on, but he still will get the job done. After the Highbreed story, though, the show got annoying. I haven't gotten around to watching Omniverse in its entirety, but I did like what I saw. |

I'm already using Doug's view on Power Rangers to enjoy MMPR for the first time in about twenty years. |

Cue people blaming me for starting it. Anyway, I just crushed one of my friend's dreams. He was hoping for Young Justice to get renewed and that Jinx would become a character (He's a Teen Titans/Teen Titans Go! fan). What he didn't know is that Jinx in the TV show (Pale, sarcastic, anime hair, stalker smile) isn't anything like the comics (Indian, straight forward, bald, and completely different from the shows' iteration). |
Okay let me ask why does Bruce have a Batgirl suit on standby in the animated series?

On the topic of Avatar, season 2s Tales of Ba-Sing-Se (?) has to be one of the best/saddest episode of any animated series I've watched. The fact that it ended up being an in-memoriam' episode for Mako makes it even more of a tear-jerker.

However, Iroh's story in that episode was really good. |

I haven't seen it all, like I said. But Avatar is one of the best animated shows I've watched in a really long time. The story, the animation. the characters. It's in my top five. (And these aren't in order)
Tron: Uprising Young Justice Batman: The Animated Series Avatar: The Last Airbender MLP: FiM And two of those got cancelled on me. Screw you Cartoon Network, screw you Disney. |

That's actually a show I heard surprisingly little of. Few complaints, few praises, little discussion (Outside of forum threads solely for that show). How good is that show? What's it like? |

Uprising is on Netflix and I've been meaning to watch it (I just hate CG focused animation). Hadn't heard a ton about except it was in danger of being canceled. Legacy was a slight let down but was so visually appealing and had a great score which was mostly all I expected.

Tron uprising isn't a bad show, it's just a dang eyesore. It's so painful to look at for me.

And I like the animation style. It fits the Tron Universe well, and reminds me much of Aeon Flux. A show I adored. |
