And then when we get the PR adaptation we just take it dark and gritty. RPM 2: Age Of Venjix baby oh yeahhhh. :lolol
|
Alright so after seeing the official team photo on the main page and the official picture of the side arm I'm definitely number 1 in love with the yellow Senshi design I guess it's because I'm a Leo and I like gold and lions number 2 I like how the whole cube / Lego / Mega Bloks design of the cube that transforms into the henshin cell phone ( I didn't think of the cell phone and all I thought it was like a rubix cube once you have all of one color on one side you transform now apparently that same gimmicks being used but to access the phone or side arms
|
First, that logo is gorgeous. It's so 80s! Don't like that the eagle has a space all to itself, but it's at the bottom so it's ok. That buckle might be a must buy because of the logo alone.
I'm happy with the changer and the side arm. Everything transforms! The modular aspect of everything we have seen so far really does something for me. The play value seems like it will be endless. I haven't invested in sentai in a long time, but this might Lesnar that streak. Now I'm praying the figuarts gods deem the 40th a good enough reason to make these figures happen. |

That is the best thing I can say I have at all regarding this show at this point in time. I'm just not feeling this series at all right now. The pajama looking costumes. The literal brick mecha. I really need to see actual live suits from screen shots instead of blurry artsy images. Maybe this show can pull a Gekiranger... |
I feel like this is a show that I'll love all the designs within the show, but won't feel any desire to actually own the merch.
Toqger was kind of that way. I personally liked pretty much all of the designs, but couldn't bring myself to actually buy the mecha and I don't typically buy figures unless I can get the whole team. No pink/yellow killed that for me. |

It's hip everywhere. |

I know! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vzN3qO-qc8U Wait, this is just playing right into the jokes isn't it? |
The JyuooBuster looks just like the Sunglasslasher from Ghost. It has a gun and sword mode like the Sunglasslasher and the cubes in it look like the sunglasses.

FINALLY clear catalog images!
In addition to showing us Juoh Wild for the first time, these confirm that Juoh Red is both Eagle AND Gorilla, pushing up the "beak" portion of his helmet to create a form change. |
I love everything about Red, that is just awesome! The Eagle to Gorilla is awesome.
|
I think I'm okay with the blocky mecha...I just don't know how it's going to look in action. I can't really imagine a big pixelated robot walking around a city.
|
I love that signature sword.
|
Ok. Now that we're getting clear images things don't look so bad. I like how Red's sword is actually a chain sword. Red turning into Gorilla is an interesting idea. And finally, giraffe bazooka!!!
|
I am so down for all of this now.
|
Sorry. STILL don't like it.
Still think this should've been an early Pre-MMPR Sentai series instead of an anniversary one. |
I can dig it. Not super into it but I cann see me liking it once I messed with it a bit.
|
Seeing the mecha, it could be worse, not my favorite designs but they've got some sort of cohesion going for them.
The whip sword for Red is pretty cool, the only thing that I don't really like is the sword/gun weapon all of them use. That's like the only thing. |
I like it more & more. The more i see the more i want this to be the 2017 Ranger team.
|
Oh, look at that. When the mecha has actual proportions, it doesn't look like shit.
Shame they fucked the toy up. Red becoming Gorilla is neat. I'm curious how it works in action. Also Tiger Knee |
I'm really into all of this.
The JuuouChanger is incredible. I think this might be the first time I ever buy a Sentai henshin device. I can see that sitting quite nicely on my desk. Loving JuuouEagle/Gorilla. That's a really fresh and cool gimmick. The way they use the negative space of the eagle to reveal the gorilla is really neat. Here's hoping all of the Juuougers acquire a form change at some point. Haha... Cube Giraffe looks just like a "!" block from Mario when folded up. Between that and the blocky, 8-bit effect on the logos for the toys, I now suspect there to be a secondary motif of 8-bit video games (not just Minecraft). I'm actually surprised we're not coming out the gate with Legacy hero toys. Pretty interesting that there doesn't seem to be much of an anniversary gimmick yet. Those thinking Juuouger will be less referential than Gokaiger appear to have been on the right track. |
Yeah, the pictures of the mecha look pretty good. The stacking gimmick is growing on me. Its a shame you can't stack them in any order. Each one seems to have a fixed position (top, mid, bottom) that it goes in in either combo. The uni-leg of the toy version still kills my interest. I'm curious to see the MiniPla and if it corrects the uni-leg problem.
Though the Gorilla having launching fists almost had me. Also it's like an entire season of just the Bear Origami from Shinkenger. |
The new images are making me hate things a little less. I love Jyuoh Eagle's sword. The chain-sword element is great, as is the clear nod to the Bringer Sword from Jetman.
The Eagle-Gorilla change is great and disappointing at the same time: disappointing because I'd hoped the rumors of a six-person team in the first quarter were true, but great because it's a new idea and (at least initially) looks cool. I wonder if it'll be represented in figure form as a reversible torso. Sadly, the uni-leg is alive and well in the second mecha and alternate combinations, but we get a tiny image of how Jyouh King is supposed to look outside toy form, and it's... less bad? But yeah, I think I'm going to skip the DX mecha line and either go with minipla or wait to see if Sentai Artisan does something palatable at a price point I can stomach. Anyone else think the giraffe looks more like a distorted hyena? The most interesting possibility posed by these scans is that the other Jyuohgers (do we have an official romanization, yet?) could gain secondary forms as other animals as the series progresses. Perhaps this gimmick also explains the relatively plain suits and the animal-face prints. |
I am really surprised that this is the first Sentai since Go-Busters that we dont have a big collectible gimmick like the Shuriken.
|
Is it just me, or does the new mecha look an awful lot like the Lightspeed Solarzord?

I'm just now seeing how VERY OOO all of this is: It's animal themed; three stacking power-ups. It's just squares instead of circles. Haha.
Also seems like they tried too hard to make that changer act like a cell-phone, to me. The building block gun-sword is kind of neat, though. |

The whole red also being gorilla thing has really caught my interest. I'm looking forward to seeing how that works.
|
I hope Bandai Japan isn't intentionally making these look so crappy just so they can later release the entire Deluxe mecha line through Premium Bandai.
|
Is it me, or does Jyuuoh Eagle look like he hulks out when he comes Jyuuoh Gorilla? Maybe it's just how they shoot it... Though with the revelation that he can do that, I wonder if the other Jyuuohgers will be able to do the same thing if they get second animals.
|
So. Multiple animal shapes that come from a cube.
Are the Juohgers secretly Animorphs? |

So is JyuohGorilla a power up? Any news of the sixth ranger?
