Just finished watching all of Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex today. It took 3 weeks to get through both seasons and SSS.

Given that OP is the greatest manga ever released, the anime is currently around ep 589, yes, it is still a thing. Yes, it is long, and it will be the final series I get into that is this long, but it is so good.

Well, SAC is one of my favorite series. I like SSS, but I do have some mixed feelings on it. First, this was obviously supposed to be a full season's plotline crammed into 2 hours as there is so much information thrown at you in one sitting that it makes it hard to follow at times. I've seen this movie about 10 times now and I still cannot figure out every little detail going on. The other downside to it being a movie is that it does not allow any of the other characters to be developed, especially the rookies who we know next to nothing about. On the other hand, it is more GitS set in the SAC universe and that is just down right awesome enough for me.

Yeah. Funimation finished releasing the DVDs through episode 205 back in 2010 and they did not acquire the license for any more episodes until the end of 2011. They currently hold the license up to episode 328, which completes Seasons 4 and 5 (Water 7/Enies Lobby/CP9, depending which you prefer to call it), and the final DVD for S4 just came out this past week. I hope they acquire the rest so they don't end up taking another 2 year long break between episodes.

The Davy Back Fight arc is dreadful. It is by far my least favorite arc in the manga series and the only arc that was a waste of my time. The anime is even worse because it drags the fights out and adds three additional rounds to it.

Funimation got rid of that STD the moment they acquired the license. They also redubbed the entire show, kept is accurate to the original script, and the characters actually sound the way they should (and in some cases, manage to out do the Jp voices).

Does anyone else like watching DBZ movies more than the actual show?

No. I think the movies for the most part are quite awful as most anime movies based from a Shonen Jump anime are. The only good part is they don't have to spend 20 episodes powering up, but in every one of them, Goku is for some reason knocked out of the first fight, only to have to save the day after everyone else is defeated in pretty much every one of them.

I'm not a big fan of the DBZ movies, either.
Just pretty meh all around.

Yep, that was a pretty darn weird episode. But I guess since it's just starting the arc, I might as well get it over with and keep watching... And we'll eventually get to Enies Lobby and Franky, so that should make up for it.

That and I'm finally sorta supporting Colleen as Luffy's voice actress. Make her signing my Straw Hat more meaningful. xP

The only DBZ movies I truly like are Fusion Reborn, The World's Strongest, Cooler's Revenge, and the Bardock special.

Planning on getting the Figuarts Leulouch at an up coming Anime Convention this weekend, so that's gotten me in the mood to rewatch the series.

I actually haven't seen R2 at all, despite liking the first season a lot.

I finished the first season of Danball Senki in less then a week. Finishing the first half of Code Geass before the convention shouldn't be a problem.:lol

Oh, okay good. Very funny story with me an Code Geass. I was sick one day and had to stay home from school. I don`t need to remind anyone how much day time tv sucks and my 360 had red ring on it so I basically had nothing to do. So, while I was browsing YouTube I found the first episode of Code Geass in English and decided to watch it.

I loved it so much that I marathoned the first season in one day. Then I did the same for the second season, however I watched it so fast that I actually caught up to the series while it was still being dubbed. :lol

Ghost in the Shell - This movie is an oddity to me. It was obviously what introduced me to the world of GitS, but it also nearly killed it for me because the last half hour of the movie makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. On one hand, it is what got the series to be popular enough to give us the amazing SAC series, but at the same time, it is hard to keep my attention paid to it at times. There is so much greatness in it that the negatives harming it in such a detrimental way is very disappointing. I'm hoping that maybe it is just the voice work and that one day Manga will go back and redub this movie using the SAC VAs so I can hear my Motoko, Ishikawa, and Freeman with their true voices that make them sound like they are people with personalities and not emotionless droids. Odd, I know, but that is the best way I can put the performances. It could use a nice remastering job ala Akira. With that said, I give it a 6/10.

Ghost in the Shell 2 Innocence - Like the first one, the movie's last act makes little sense, but it does not hurt this one that much for me. My biggest complaint is just the number of pointless random quotes a character recites through the movie (25 in fact). It makes the dialog feel unnatural at times because no one actually talks like that. Other than that though, I love the mystery surrounding the plot, the movie itself is just beautiful to watch (especially that Chinese-esque celebration and the Dollhouse), it has some great music that fits the scenes, and I do enjoy a story revolving around Batou and Togusa as I like their characters. Nevertheless, it still isn't up to my standards of SAC, but for what the movie accomplishes, it is very enjoyable. I'm giving this one an 8/10.

Kiryu, I love Code Geass, but I have some mixed feelings towards it. I felt like the first season was Gundam SEED meets Deathnote, but the second season seemed to be more filler than anything else. Fortunately, the last few episodes are well worth it, but I feel R2 could have been done in 15 episodes.

I want to know CC's secret and how she stuff her face with so much pizza and not end up looking like a fat ass:lol

So nearly done with Code Geass. God damned this show is so good. A little bit nervous about diving into Season 2 though, I hear it kinda goes all over the place and falls apart.

Also…for the first half of the series, I liked the opening theme better then the ending theme. But, now it's reversed. I've forgotten what a good song Mosaic Kakera is.
