Just finished watching all of Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex today. It took 3 weeks to get through both seasons and SSS.

Haven't watched One Piece in years so i might check the Toonami airing.
|
I gave up on One Piece years ago. Probably around the same time I gave up on Bleach.
|
I'm watching the Bardock special right now and loving it.
God dammit Team four star now all i can think of is this You got the touch. :lol |
I preferred TFS's take on the special than the actual special :p
|
I'm watching One piece now... I can't believe i watched this same dub with my mom years ago.
|
Oh good, the One Piece episode they're starting on is one I haven't seen! I really did take quite a long break huh...
...But I can't recall even reading about this hmmm. *looks up* Oh god it's the Davy Back Fight arc. I've not even gone back to read this one. It just seems so, so bad... Owait. Bellamy/Donquixiote scene. I'll keep watching a liiiittle longer. And then go back to Gurren Lagann. :P Just finished episode 19. Pretty big time skip in here I wasn't expecting. And wow everyone pretty much took a 180 on personalities. Kinda jarring. |
well at least the intro to one piece isn't that rap one.

Random Question.
Does anyone else like watching DBZ movies more than the actual show? |

I'm not a big fan of the DBZ movies, either.
Just pretty meh all around. |
Yep, that was a pretty darn weird episode. But I guess since it's just starting the arc, I might as well get it over with and keep watching... And we'll eventually get to Enies Lobby and Franky, so that should make up for it.
That and I'm finally sorta supporting Colleen as Luffy's voice actress. Make her signing my Straw Hat more meaningful. xP --- Also a "meh" to DBZ movies from me. |
Really? I thought a couple of them were really cool. Super Android 15, Cooler, I forget the name but the big badass immortal Namekian.
|
Lord Slug?
I liked Broly, but only because of how pissed off he made my other DBZ loving friends :lol |

Americans love Broly.
So much so that he's added into every game, even ones that occur when he'd appear. My friends can't stand the guy. Think he's a musclebound moron. :lol |
let me interject by saying....... DBZ Abridged movies.

The only DBZ movies I truly like are Fusion Reborn, The World's Strongest, Cooler's Revenge, and the Bardock special.

So far, I have only gotten autographs from Brina Palencia (Chopper), Patrick Seitz (Franky), and then various other characters such as Wendy Powell (who we are friends with), who did Miss Merry Xmas, along with the VAs for Eneru, Miss Doublefinger, Kozu (Todd Haberkorn), and Clarine Harp (Usopp's mom, we are also friends with her). And if things go right, I'll get Chris Sabat's and Eric Vale's autographs at AnimeExpo. |
Planning on getting the Figuarts Leulouch at an up coming Anime Convention this weekend, so that's gotten me in the mood to rewatch the series.
I actually haven't seen R2 at all, despite liking the first season a lot. |

I loved it so much that I marathoned the first season in one day. Then I did the same for the second season, however I watched it so fast that I actually caught up to the series while it was still being dubbed. :lol |
Ghost in the Shell - This movie is an oddity to me. It was obviously what introduced me to the world of GitS, but it also nearly killed it for me because the last half hour of the movie makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. On one hand, it is what got the series to be popular enough to give us the amazing SAC series, but at the same time, it is hard to keep my attention paid to it at times. There is so much greatness in it that the negatives harming it in such a detrimental way is very disappointing. I'm hoping that maybe it is just the voice work and that one day Manga will go back and redub this movie using the SAC VAs so I can hear my Motoko, Ishikawa, and Freeman with their true voices that make them sound like they are people with personalities and not emotionless droids. Odd, I know, but that is the best way I can put the performances. It could use a nice remastering job ala Akira. With that said, I give it a 6/10.
Ghost in the Shell 2 Innocence - Like the first one, the movie's last act makes little sense, but it does not hurt this one that much for me. My biggest complaint is just the number of pointless random quotes a character recites through the movie (25 in fact). It makes the dialog feel unnatural at times because no one actually talks like that. Other than that though, I love the mystery surrounding the plot, the movie itself is just beautiful to watch (especially that Chinese-esque celebration and the Dollhouse), it has some great music that fits the scenes, and I do enjoy a story revolving around Batou and Togusa as I like their characters. Nevertheless, it still isn't up to my standards of SAC, but for what the movie accomplishes, it is very enjoyable. I'm giving this one an 8/10. Kiryu, I love Code Geass, but I have some mixed feelings towards it. I felt like the first season was Gundam SEED meets Deathnote, but the second season seemed to be more filler than anything else. Fortunately, the last few episodes are well worth it, but I feel R2 could have been done in 15 episodes. |

So nearly done with Code Geass. God damned this show is so good. A little bit nervous about diving into Season 2 though, I hear it kinda goes all over the place and falls apart.
Also…for the first half of the series, I liked the opening theme better then the ending theme. But, now it's reversed. I've forgotten what a good song Mosaic Kakera is. Looks like someone uploaded all of J-Decker and Fighbird subbed on youtube…guess I know what I'm watching after code geass |
