Yes, but the option that "no one wants to be a DM" is also quite realistic. And then someone new joins you and you find out that you have been playing wrong for a lot of time.
Plus, going back to Gotchard, the options are:
1) He has an eidetic memory, so he can be a beginner and quickly learn everything he needs at the same time.
2) It is just because of his inexperience that he messed up something and a harmless card game will need Kamen Riders;
3) A mixture of the first and second. I went to school with an eidetic guy who managed to get bad grades because he was too lazy to even look at his textbook. With great power comes great laziness.

I'm intrigued by your third option. There's a good moral, that even the most talented person in the world needs the motivation to succeed. A super talented person can even occasionally be humbled by such motivated people, like Ace learning the value from Michinaga in Geats Episode 9. Also reminds me of how Abaranger's Doctor Nakadai became bored with living due to how easy his life was, or how Shinnosuke's engine became stalled after his guilt over the Global Freeze.

Okay so I'm inclined to believe the initial rumor that Gotchard's end of Q1 upgrade is a hazard trigger like device that plugs into the top of the belt because as you guys can see there's a big slot in the top center of the belt that's too big for cards. Plus we know cards slide in on the top left & right sides of the belt, not the dead center.

I think these leaks are well thought out, given how much different (cheaper?) everything related to Gotchard looks. I mean, he literally looks like a rider who could show up instead of Kuuga. So Toei wants to let the audience get used to a new type of device. Again, while all the leaks concern only toys, we have only very vague rumors about the actors and the plot, two-thirds of which contradict each other.

So there's more new/rumors to discuss guys. The first bit of info is that Gotchard will be officially announced on 07/28/23, this is a pretty safe assumption considering that Televi-kun will come out and have images of Gotchard + if Gotchard cameos in the Geats movie (which releases the same day) they'll basically have to talk about him.

The next set of rumors is regarding Geats's movie form. We know that Geats will get a new rainbow ID core in the film (movie ticket item) and get the "Geats Oneness form", the current rumor regarding this form is that Geats will also use a new raise buckle that can use Ridechemy cards (presumbly the one we saw prototypes for) & he will use the Geats legend card to gain this form (crude mock up included + this card mock up isn't new as this rumor about a Geats legend card appearing in the film has been going around for weeks now, the only new bit of info is it being used with a new raise buckle).

Also regarding the card, assuming the mock up is true & actually resembles the irl card, then it would appear to be a lvl 10 card. I wonder if all the Legend Rider cards will be lvl 10 cards?

To be honest, the legendary rider cards and Gotchard buckle seem like something more suitable for a crossover than a Geats movie. Is it possible that these rumors are simply fueled by recent leaks?

Something I've just noticed about Geats Oneness one the left glove seems to indicate a combination of all of the signature armors, at least aesthetically.

I'm reminded of Blade where you have to defeat the Kaijin to gain their cards but also the Roidmude's with the amount of them there are. At the very least it sounds like the Kaijin will be relevant to the plot, even if it's mostly for forms, which is always a plus for me.

I've always been mixed on Hasegawa... he's written things I've enjoyed but also stuff I really haven't... Same for Hiroki Uchida to be honest.

Hasegawa has a lot of potential to do great, but tbh he kinds skeezes me out at times so him writing a show about high schoolers makes me kind of anxious

I, for one, am thrilled Hasegawa has finally been given head writing duties on a Rider. I absolutely adore Ultraman Nexus and SSSS.Gridman, and he was able to give Saber a satisfying conclusion. He has his fair share of misses, but he is one of the more consistent toku writers out there. Very interested to see how he does with more control over the narrative arc.

OMG. It's literally Kamen Rider Cardcaptor. While I absolutely adore the fact that they're making each power-up more significant by making them monsters and tying them with the villain of the week like Blade/Double, I'm wondering if 101 cards is a little too excessive? Blade had like 50 of them, and we didn't even get to see most of them as monsters.

With a clearer look at the helmet, I'm thinking the retail toy line gimmick is a Rider figure that starts off looking like a Showa design, then turns into a more modern Rider. Given the bits on the side of the face, it looks like the top portion of the helmet slides upward to form the goggles, while the "mouthpiece" parts rotate to the sides of the helmet. That'd certainly jibe with the chest piece that looks like it's meant to rotate.

I guess it explains why an organic and inorganic card are paired to transform. He's basically using alchemy but with cards. Kind of a cross between Build, Decade, and Blade's gimmicks. On a side note, I wonder how many people who collect FRS are already worried of Gotchard coming out in the future as a FRS kit, because I think it's got metallic blue plated painting and plated metallic painting on model kit parts are a hassle after you clipped them off the runner.

Man's helped carry so many Rider and Ultraman shows, it's great to see him finally headline his first Rider show.

I definitely like the suit after seeing that teaser video, very unique and cool looking! Also... not to state the obvious with my Symphogear signature and all but an alchemy theme sounds fun.

I'm not entirely sure what I think of the two co-writers though. I see Hasegawa has a good reputation as someone who caused a shift towards better drama in tokusatsu, but I'm not familiar with anything he was head writer for. Among the episodes of Kamen Rider he did there's actually quite a few that I remember thinking were not all that great and fit poorly with the show! I did generally enjoy Saber though so maybe it'd work out. I'm also not too familiar with Uchida but hey, Saber again. But besides that... wait, he wrote Revice: The Mystery? That's awesome actually, really enjoyed that!

Really though, I'm glad to see people who haven't been head writers for the series before. I think I'm going to use Gotchard as a chance to take time off from watching live, but I'm rooting for the show!

Plated metallic is a chore no matter what. Nobody's really invented a good chrome paint that you can apply a coloured clear over yet.

Unless Bandai were to vac metalize it themselves, most people would probably just paint it regular metallics. Though since Bandai is apparently not doing Reiwa in FRS so far I doubt we have to worry about it for some time.

True. Come to think of it, Bandai does seem to use less chrome paint in general for kits these days, unless a kit was originally released that way and said kit is a re-release.

Chrome is something that doesn't jive with model kits too well. Nub marks and gate placements will always spoil it, due to chrome being applied in layers, and you can't clean up nub marks without obviously ruining the finish. And because it's applied in layers it tends to render sculpted details softer than the rest of the kit. Plus if you want to customize a kit you'd have to remove the chrome entirely, which is tedious and time-consuming.

So yeah, Bandai tends to avoid it on their plamo.

An FRS kit of Gotchard would just use metallic blue at most. Color and material accuracy isn't exactly the strong point nor priority of the model kits.

If everyone watches Yu-Gi-Oh! & Battle Spirits, do you see the protagonist like Yugi Muto or Dan Bashin? Or both!

Would be nice to see this series crossover with Blade. It'd be nice to see Garren, Chalice & Leangle again altogether.

Plus if the secondary rider is gonna be its rival, I'd imagine like Seto Kaiba.

Here are some of my observations and opinions regarding the poster and staff update:

We can see new Chemie Cards. Kamantis the praying mantis with 9 points and Col Borsh (I think?) the motorcycle with 7 points.

If we look closely in the background, we can see a typical Japanese high school rooftop, which is commonly used for dramatic or scenic moments in high school J-dramas.

There are 101 Chemies, which sounds random, but it could be symbolic. 101 is binary for 5, like how Gotchard is the 5th Reiwa Rider.

Not only are Gentarou and Houtarou both high school student protagonists with names ending in "tarou", but as Riders they're both associated with the number 40. Fourze being the 40th anniversary Rider and Gotchard being the 40th Primary Rider.

I'm relieved to know that the show is in Hasegawa's reliable hands. He's done a lot of good work as a secondary writer for Rider and I look forward to seeing how he will handle Gotchard as his own. Curious who the producer will be though.
