This buggy also reminds me of the ride gatriker from Sabre. Honestly, he looks so toy-like that I even thought that Toei decided to try to get around the motorcycle ban by shooting miniatures. But I think it's too troublesome. In any case, multifunctionality is cool.

However Komura is now going to the the second woman ever to be a rider head writer, and is also the first one we've had on a main series entry since OOO from 2010-2011!!

I concur. This kind of secretive marketing tactic almost always (if not always) aim to create hype, curiosity, and enthusiasm from fans. I'm 90% sure that the main writer (or the writer) must be a famous writer with a true star power, a rockstar writer within the anime/toku/sci-fi/fantasy genre. No way Toei would delay the reveal for this long, only to announce at the press conference that the script would be written by no-name writers with zero star power. It'd be the most epic self-own and marketing misstep ever.

My personal speculation is that the writer is Gen Urobuchi. Urobuchi's return to this franchise would be the best case scenario to me. As far as I remember, the last time (or perhaps the only time) where the reveal of the name of the writer created more hype than the series itself was when Urobuchi was revealed as the writer of Gaim. I still remember my clueless, 14-y.o.-self asking several of my friends who were anime buffs what the fuss about Gaim was all about.

This. One of the reasons for my initial high expectation for Gotchard, beside the alchemy theme, was Hasegawa's reputation as a writer for many Ultra series, especially Nexus. Maaannn, I worship Nexus, haha. His performances as a side writer in KR series such as Fourze and Saber were also usually good. I'm disappointed in how bad his performance in Gotchard is. Gotchard is arguably Hasegawa's worst performance, perhaps in his whole writing career. This could be due to Bandai's heavy-handed involvement, or creative limitation by the producers, or him simply losing his touch, or a combination of those factors.

I read in several Japanese toku forums that Gen Urobuchi has never returned to KR due to the same reason of Bandai's heavy-handed involvement. There was a rumor circulating that Bandai intervened way too far in Gaim's production, especially in the writing. He was rumored to be demanded by Bandai to revise his script several times to integrate more toys into Gaim's story, at the expense of quality. Urobuchi has been known to stick to his gun when it comes to anything that has something to do with the quality and consistency of the story. So, naturally, it seems like working with Bandai in Gaim left a bad taste in Urobuchi's mouth.

Maybe my speculation about Urobuchi's return is just a futile exercise. I can only hope!

Where was it mentioned that Junko Komura is the writer? The leaked information was just 3 thumbnails of the first 3 episodes, and no credits were shown, only "for review purpose only" text, lyrics of the OP, and some subtitles. The circulating rumor about the writer has never mentioned nor shown the source of the original information.

About the actor for the main protagonist, several gossip forums have speculated that he's Hidekazu Chinen (知念英和) from the agency Stardust.

As far as I know, the actual videos on iQiyi were locked behind password, and only the thumbnails of the first 3 episodes were leaked. The episodes being shared on Bili Bili for a very brief time before it was deleted by the copyright strike system is very likely just an unproven rumor that has been circulating and echoed in several forums. If it had been true, then it would've only taken 1 person to access the pages, download the videos, and redistribute them in other sites/forums/torrent sites. So far, I haven't heard that news. Maybe we'll hear it in the next several days.

Rough appearance of KR Valen's Chocodon form from an unpainted So-Do figure. The main colors are likely metallic red & metallic silver, similar to KR Baron Banana Arms. The gun's name is Valen Buster, and it looks completely different from KR Gavv's gun when he uses the same RG. Perhaps Valen Buster is KR Valen's main weapon, similar to KR Valvarad's Valvarusher and KR Brave's Gashacon Sword which are used with all their forms. KR Valen also has the same talons like KR Gavv does. I wonder if those are the Gochizous' talons.

So from what I'm gathering, they were put on some sort of some of chinese video hosting service and the only reason the thumbnails were the only thing people could see was because they still had administrator only permissions so no one could actually see anything other than the auto-generated thumbnail.

Not posting any actual anything on it other than what I can make out because I'm not about to do anything insanely risky online about Gavv. Toei's already started hitting people who even have the thumbnails. All I can say is go onto twitter and try and seek out the information that's still there.

Yeah, for anybody wondering what kind of Rider show Komura will write, they should refer to Bima-X. I guess a convenient thing about Komura's style is that the light plot can be tweaked easily, like how Stacey wasn't originally planned for Zenkaiger but ended up having a strong impression. Takebe was a fan of Sara as the heart in Kamen Rider Geats and I think that cheerful archetype appeals to Komura as well, considering how she wrote Kaito and Juran. They could be a good team.

Didn't they already kind of do that with Gotchard, by making Hasegawa and Uchida the main writers?

Here's an idea I had. As far as I know, rider shows begin to be developed about 2 years before they go on air. At the same time, things that turned out to be true for Gavv also appeared in rumors about Geats. Considering how many leaks happened to this sweet rider, it is quite possible that someone from the team that dealt with him was involved in them. And if so, is it possible to repeat the approach from Blade to Kabuto, when those working on the show were changed during the process?

Looking at the listings the alternate Gochizo faces are included at random so you may need to buy multiple DX sets to get the ones you want.... not a fan of that personally.....

I went to check on the announcement for th Gavv So-do, the set comes with a PoppinGummy figure qith FuwaMallow and Zakuzaku Chips as armor only.

Also, Gavv's colors, I think are the Bandai Candy logo's... it's too similar otherwise

With Gotchard it made sense cuz Cards have rarities and are cheap to produce and buy, but these things are potentially individual electronics which are definitely gonna be more expensive.

I'm also amazed Toei is... literally just marketing the Prop weapons as the Toys, like no fancy smoke or mirrors just: "Here's the ZakuZaku Swords and the Choco Gun!" "They look like... thick cardboard cutouts" "Yep, it's even accurate to the Show!"

I think that the management staff of Bandai and/or Toei, like me, were a little freaked out by all those videos on YouTube where people unpack huge bags of Gotchard cards in search of the desired one. And so we decided to take a chance and try it with a more expensive gimmick. They can get seriously burned. I personally hope that they have not lost touch with reality and gochizo will still be significantly cheaper than rider buckles and weisstamps. Plus, if we continue the analogies with Gotchard, basic gimmicks will be quite easy to obtain.

Geats should have made the arms a different color or not made them at all. I also don?t like the uniformity (although it?s too early to judge by two) of the gochizo rider. Gavva forms are much more varied in design. They could have modeled Geats on the same white fighter and the analogy would have been with a fox peeking out of a hole.

I have mixed feelings about Valen (Valeon?). If different forms of Gavv look like different riders, then he looks like another form of Gavv. It is clear that this is so that the riders in the show have the same design, different from others, but still... In a word, you need to see it live.

Honestly I'm so screwed this year, i didn't buy any gotchard stuff in the end, but between komura being a writer I really like, and just personally really loving the Gochizo, this may be an "I want EVERYTHING" kinda year for me. Which i haven't really had in years lol

The sword is themed after a road and it launches a tiny motorcycle for a Gochizou to ride. That's so cool and so silly at the same time, which is exactly the kind of thing I love about tokusatsu!

I can agree that there is a lot to process for the WRB jingles but at the same time it's the lovely voice of Akio Otsuka narrating, so I would be in quite the dilemma if someone asked me do you like it or hate it. :lolol

Been meaning to discuss Gavv, and now here we are much later!

First off, "Gavv." Coming off Geats, Gotchard, now Gavv, three "Gs" in a row, when can we expect Kamen Rider G to become the new Decade?

Jokes over (for now), since the driver matches that leaked image from months ago, I just want to say, when I first saw it, I thought it looked like the Fanton Seijin from Ultraman, which I found kind of funny. As for Gavv himself, he looks so... generic? I know there were a lot of rumors saying he looked like Zero-One, which he does, but even looking him over, his overall silhouette and details just feel a little underwhelming after every Reiwa Main Rider thus far. It's not a bad thing, mind you, just wasn't expecting something this simple. Though, the gummy Rider Kick Boot is a cute touch.

The snack monsters are interesting, to say the least. They remind me of the goofy aesthetic of the Monster Buckle from Geats or one of those weird squishy capsule critter toys from the early 2010s. I think the chip monster is my favorite. As for the forms, I'm probably a bigger fan of them more than the main form? For one, they almost look like whole new Riders rather than alternate forms, which is neat! And yes, obligatory Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man joke.

Overall, it's curious. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

As for Gotchard, I've been enjoying it so far, probably not going to overthrow Geats or Saber, but it's been fun (I'll discuss the show more when I can, been very busy lately)!

Honestly, it seems to me that Toei is planning a 5G (or even 6G) crossover. In any case, I think this tautology will still play a role.

Bandai releasing the DX Henshin Belt Gavv toy tomorrow, right on the day of the premiere of KR Gotchard's summer film makes me think that KR Gavv would very likely make a proper appearance with the civilian actor performing the henshin pose, not a mere suit/voice-only cameo. This could be Bandai's new sales strategy that would be applied to future KR series.

I'm still skeptical about this. I've also read many similar posts in several forums, and so far, all those posts were just reposts of the original thumbnails accompanied by sentences in the vein of "I've read/heard from someone who read/heard that the original poster wrote/said that the writer is Junko Komura". None of those posts included the source link of the original post, let alone the link of the directory/videos in the thumbnails. Even if the original post was deleted by the site's copyright strike system, at least the link would still provide an evidence of deletion of the post or suspension of the original poster's account. Without any mention of the source link of the original post, it's basically a hearsay/gossip.

I suspect that the original poster never actually had complete access to the videos, which was rumored to be hosted on iQiyi. The original poster very likely only had access to the folder/directory of the videos, but not the videos, which were locked behind passwords. That's why the original poster was only able to copy the thumbnails. If the original poster (or another person) had had access to the videos, then he would've likely downloaded it and distributed it via video sharing sites, file sharing sites, or the most often used: torrent sites. The videos would've then spread like a wild fire. My conclusion is that the original poster very likely only posted the thumbnails, and the mention of Junko Komura's name was added later by reposter(s), likely as a mere hypothesis or rumor but misconstrued as fact and nevertheless insinuated in several forums, and snowballed and spread into the whole fandom.

Even if someone posted the thumbnails in this forum, there's very little information that can be gained from it. There are only 3 thumbnails and 1 screenshot: 2 of them show the protagonist(?) wearing a light blue hoodie with a dark khaki stripe on the chest, a dark khaki baggy pants, and colorful shoes, walking behind a child around 12 years of age; 1 of them shows the protagonist(?) doing some kind of Tiktok dance(?) during the OP scene(?) in a colorful kitchen/pantry-like studio, 1 of them shows the protagonist(?) in a close-up scene wearing a white/dark khaki/red hoodie, holding something that looks like a colorful candy packaging; and a screenshot of the thumbnail, title, duration, and upload date of the videos. Even gossip forums are still unsure who the actor(s) in the thumbnails is/are.

I think Toei's top secret is still safe, so the producers can sleep well at night, at least for now. Haha.

I concur. The worst part of Rinne as a Rider was her debut in the Gotchard-Geats collab film. That film violated several fundamental, crucial elements of Gotchard's internal logic. Making the debut of a main character in a collab/crossover film (which are notorious for their messy and convoluted internal logic) is just a bad move by the writers and producers.

Rinne was meant to be the heroine, not a Rider, let alone the second Rider. A heroine has a very important role that can't be replaced by making her a Rider: Providing emotional support to the protagonist(s). Let a heroine be a heroine, not a Rider. A Rider heroine = A bad heroine.

Not to be rude but nothing in the definition of Heroine matches what "providing emotional support to the protagonist". The literal definition is as follows:
"a woman who is admired for having done something very brave or having achieved something great"
The second definition matches Rinne even better:
"the main female character in a book or film, who is usually good"

So I don't quite understand why making Rinne a rider (which I liked) makes her a bad Heroine.

Rinne was never meant to be the heroine, so you're judging her by the wrong standard. I recall Minato the producer was clear from the start that Rinne is the second protagonist and we can see in Episode 4 and 38 that she's the one receiving emotional support. Rinne is an alchemist and in this show, alchemists are sometimes Riders. She's the Dragon to Houtarou's Rabbit, hence why their names add up to 10.
