Supposedly he comes out along side Aka Red in like August. Though I haven't been able to confirm this yet.

I welcome a full set of 10+ Kyoryugers (don't forget the movie exclusive guy). But I do badly want Beet and Stag and Buddyroid J :(

And I'm thinking that might have been false info, unless they're planning to show up in Akibaranger at some point. With Kibaranger supposedly coming in September I can't really see those two being released beforehand, especially since neither appeared in the Tamashii Nations promo.

I'm thinking that was the case too, given the sketchy nature of how it was posted…

Wow. Thanks for the info. Hope I can come close to that price. One thing I learned fast is there is a wide range of prices out there and you have to shop around with these Figuarts. I overpaid embarrassingly on my first few figures by not shopping around.

My bad, that was a typo on my part, I meant Akaranger. But that rumor wasn't posted on April 1st or anything and AlphaHeroShock and Cybergundam both ran the info, typically 2 very reputable sources. I'd like to think it's true and they're just web exclusives which honestly suits me just fine if they are.

Yeah, I guess its always possible they could be web exclusives since they seem to go up any time.

But with Tamashii Nations does that mean much? I highly doubt Super Shinken Gold, Yellow, Blue, Pink and Green will be released, or Gedou Shinken Red or the SWAT Dekarangers, but they've all made appearances at events. We haven't heard any news of Akaranger or that Baseball villain either, have we? Seems they show off any Figuart that's been even an after thought in their mind. I still hope for Bouken Silver though.

Bouken Silver I can see being a web exclusive that one's a given. But no way are they gonna make AkaRanger one, I think he's too iconic and an easy money grab for Bandai for that.

They wouldn't make Bouken Silver a web exclusive, since bandai said they would try to focus on reds and sixths as mass releases after the gokaiger figuarts. On that note they need to announce bouken pink, yellow, and get to work on Zubaan already.

But they already made Gosei Knight as a web exclusive, plus Kiba Ranger was announced as one too.

Gosei Knight is a different story, though. Hell, we don't even have Gosei Red yet.

I'd rather have important characters like Garren, Leangle, Chalice, regular Kiva, Hibiki, Ibuki, Zanki, Todoroki, Shin, J, Zx, and Zo before we even get to Kivara. Hell, I want the Gorgom Priests, Birugenia, and every MOTW from the original series before they even bother with Kivara.

Dude you are never gonna get those kaijin and bad guys :lol Villains just do not sell in Japan. Not with any series, let alone one that's over 40 years old. Kivara is a much better bet than any villain outside of the currently ongoing Rider and Sentai.

I know, but that just shows how much of a useless character I find Kivara to be. Not to mention she was only a movie character in a terrible movie.

I would rather have the Makamou giants before I have Kivara.

I totally get that. Though I liked that crazy movie and Kivara even if she was pretty brief. But it's just reality that the villains don't sell and probably won't be made. Some key examples being exceptions that could be made but for the most part they will never do every villain from a particular show. W, OOO, and Fourze have proven that sales numbers for villain SHF's (and Zeros for that matter) are staggeringly low.

Well that is because they are too damn expensive. Terror Dopant is like $50 and Taboo seems to be around $45. The Zodiarts seem to be priced in the $50-60s.

No it's because kids idolize heroes. So they don't buy villains. When there are as many costumed heroes as Japan has like every kid wants to fight for justice. And when it comes to SHFiguarts, which are not primarily aimed at children, adult collectors tend to pass on villains because they grew up always watching the heroes win. They have a stronger connection to them than the bad guys.

But the villains are what can make or break a show. If the villain sucks, the show usually sucks. The heroes can suck all they want, but if the villain is well done, the show ends up good. MagiRanger is a prime example of this, and Enter was the only thing in Go-Buster that was worth a damn.

That's not always true. In fact I'd say it' more often than not the opposite.

Also, you're missing the point entirely, he's talking about how kids idolize heroes. That has nothing to do with the villain or the even the show itself. The villain could be amazing, but heroes are who we want to see win. Heroes protect and save people, villains hurt and destroy things. People prefer heroes.

Ah, but what makes a show good to an adult western audience will rarely is not neccessarily what the Japanese children's audience, or even the Japanese adult audience, think make a show good.

It's been pretty par-for-the-course to have Reds and Sixes be released regularly and not as exclusives. Those are generally the "testing bed" for the releases of the other members of the team as well.

I don't understand the whole "villians" fighting something. The villians by and large, are unforgettable. Sure, you have them coming back for cross overs or whatnot, but the hero is the hero for a reason.

As for a "display" while I think having a few bad guys would make my Figuarts display "better", I'm happy just having Riders for now. Price is a key factor on that, but also Riders either standing their together epically (All Riders versus Dai Shocker, for example) or doing their own poses, it seems to work better that way. I think it's awesome that each Rider has something of a signature pose, and when lined up as toys it just looks better than a display of fighting a bad guy. That's just me though.

Gotta agree here, fighting displays just don't work for me. My three horoscopes just stand their looking menacing, and that's good enough for me.

I find figures staticly fighting just looks odd, get them in a cool pose though and in a group and there's just something awesome about them =]

I meant toy-wise. When I play with my Figuarts, I'm not going to have OOO fighting Fourze, I'm going to want OOO fighting a Greeed or something. Same thing when it comes to Transformers, the Autobots need decepticons to fight whenever I play with them.

Yeah, I think TJOmega put it best in his review of the S.H. Figuarts Scorpion Zodiarts "If you don't have figures of the villains, who are the heroes going to punch?"

I just have my riders fight whoever. I think Thundercats Mumm-ra get's a good kicking since he kind of looks like a Kamen Rider monster.

While my display has changed, the way I have Black and Shadow Moon positioned has not. As such, Black disagrees with you guys on fighting displays.

I'm keeping myself to a "one villain SHF per franchise" rule, though I've already broken it with Ryuki. And if I can get Medusa relatively cheaply on Mandarake, I'll break it with Wizard too(I have Phoenix preordered).

Thought id take the plunge and build a taisen z display of figuarts, went on cstoys today to pick up gavan, i swear they must have sold out in 30 seconds. Im seriously annoyed. Reckon mandarake might have him?

Goseiknight was an exclusive, Kibaranger is an exclusive and all of the Go-buster figures aside from Red were exclusives, with Beet and Stag not being released at all. It's pretty clear there's no pattern, we'll just get regular releases for characters that are popular enough to sell as mass releases. I doubt that includes Dekabreak or Bouken Silver, unfortunately.

I think we'll even start to see exclusive Reds, once we get into the likes of Goggle V and Flashman.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just saw the official "Kibaranger is an exclusive" thing. Oh well.
