I'm surprised that Matrixbeast hasn't responded to today's episode yet. Especially since it was a Rarity episode.

I'm trying to contain myself, but I'm going insane over it. I absolutely loved it.
The song wasn't spectacular, but I didn't hate it, and Rarity was just an absolute gem, even her breakdown was great and her apology was heartwarming.

I've never wanted to choke a cartoon pony before more than I do now to Suri. :lol
I normally absolutely adore/tolerate the villains/antagonists (Nightmare, Chrysalis, Blueblood, Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, Mane-iac, Jet Set, Upper Crust, etc), but fucking Suri...Oh god, I'd love to have a nice little fight to the death with her.

Okay, with this last episode Rarity is now tied neck and neck with Twilight as my favorite of the mane six.

She deserves at least 2 focus episodes this season as compensation for not getting one in Season 3, though.

Before Suri, the only antagonists I disliked were Flitter and Cloudchaser (And they hardly qualify as antagonists. They're more like the spark that set the flame of Fluttershy's fears in that episode).

Especially since she was originally supposed to have one in season three but her role in that episode was switched with Applejack... the result was Spike at Your Service. *drum snare*

Drum snare? That's entirely accurate. They rewrote the episode because they felt that it was out of character and Rarity felt too mean and rude.

I still like Spike at Your Service, though. It has major flaws, but it's a fun little episode and seeing AJ kick ass is always great. :lol

Loved the episode! Now all my thoughts are in Rarity's voice. It was just so nice seeing Rarity generous again.

Really? I felt that Rarity's freaking out and guilt tripping was out of character, I don't remember her ever guilt tripping her friends before (though, I could be biased, as I hate guilt tripping.). I loved the song, but I feel that having two was kind of a waste of time.

I hated her too. I think my main problem with this episode was how predictable Dave Polsky made that plot point (The whole "Borrow my thing" "HA! I'm going to steal it!") I also thought when she said it was one of a kind. I know she's the Element of Generosity, but if it's one of a kind, you don't just hand that sort of thing out. I liked her apology as well. I liked the end when Suri's assistant saw the error of her ways, and how rarity let her have the job, it was really sweet. Typically the more I watch an episode the more I like it, so I'll probably enjoy it more upon second viewing. :lol

The guilt tripping was actually perfect.

For Rarity, she was used to having people come in and admire her dresses on the spot. Now she's in a situation where she has to compete directly against others. I felt the guilt tripping was her trying to get into the "It doesn't matter how you win, as long as you win" mindset many have when in the competitive field. She learned it wasn't for her and apologized before she even knew she won, which is what made it all the better.

Rarity is not incapable of guilt tripping, but I can see how it is out of character. Which is precisely the point. It shows how much competitiveness and Manehattan has changed her into a manipulative person.

Whilst I really, really do like MLP I have been a tad bored in recent episodes. Not because they were necessarily bad but whilst previous episodes would often take a wrench to tropes and I feel these recent ones have been a touch more cliché. The actual Flutterbat bit of bats were the most fun I have had so far, but the stuff in Bats that wasn't Flutterbat was painful to watch.
Also, going to the Bristol Bronies meets has become a lot more painful, I was always 'the comic book girl' and after the Power Ponies episode everyone is like ''How could you not love that one! It's about superheros! That's your thing'' which is a method of thinking I really hate. *throws personal issues in air, walks off*

I still adored Power Ponies. It was just a fun episode in and of itself.

Honestly, after fearing the worst for Princess Twilight, Season 4 has been smile after smile for me because it's not forcing the universe around her and her new found status.

True. Though, I wish they did do a bit more with her new status as a Princess other than the opening two-parter (and probably closing two-parter).

Me being vehemently against Princess Twilight, I'm so glad it's being underplayed. They raised her status, but they're not elevating her higher than her friends, and that makes me happy. :)

I don't want them to elevate her above her friends, but they could've had her pull some strings to get Rarity to her fashion show thingy sooner. I know that would've clashed with the moral. I guess what I'm saying is...I wish they would have her flex her princess muscle a tad more.

I'm glad it's not. Twilight being a princess isn't changing the status quo or character. She still worries about books, not being a symbol. She still worries about common woes.

She's very much like pre-wedding Cadance, actually. A Princess, but being one isn't her defining characteristic (Not sure if you read issues 11 and 12 of the comic).

I'm not saying I want her to be this like kind of "BOW BEFORE ME MORTAL I AM ALL POWERFUL!" kind of character. I'm just saying I feel that her status as a princess shouldn't be completely ignored...actually now that I think about it...it isn't they had the whole castle thing (I hope we find out what that's all about). Alright...I kind of made my argument moot. Wait...this week's episode is...oh here we go...

I guess it could be odd to see her being a princess not factor in, but I just didn't feel like she needed to become one to begin with, is all.
