Just watched the final episode of ToQGer. Am I the only one that thinks the Green Rangers grandma resembles Beasts grandma in Wizard?

Nito's grandma was played by an actress named Yamaguchi Karin(山口 果林), while Hikari's grandma was played by an actress named Hayashi Midori(林 美土里).

Why do Mecha look the way they do?
 

I do have to ask why Sentai Mecha look the way they do? What was the design process behind them; the inspiration? Who says: "This thing looks wild, it's perfect." For example (and this can get lengthy and P.R. counterparts will be mentioned): Why does Galaxy Mega/Astro Megazord echo Daidenjin? Why does Dairenoh/Thunder Megazord look like Ryuuseioh/Red Dragon Warrior Mode wearing Kidenjuu armor? Why the similarities between Jaguar Vulcan and Giga Bitus/Zenith Carrierzord? Why does Daizyujin/(Dino) Megazord have what can only be defined as "devil horns"? Anyone notice cues between the head of GaoKing/Wild Force Megazord and that of Beast Armor Shine Gingaioh/Lights of Orion Galaxy Megazord? Why settle on a football player for TackleBoy/Warrior Wheel? I don't know if anyone has said or referenced this matter before, but after awhile questions do come to mind.

*shrugs* Either they wanted to pay tribute to old designs or they were simply out of ideas, i guess. :lolol

They probably wanted to go old school for Megaranger and used that as an inspiration

Because that's what the mecha are based on for that series. Dairanger has a lot of Chinese themes

There could be an actual reason for this, but I've always felt that they simply thought it was missing something design-wise, so they threw horns on.


A lot of the other ones I can't really answer, but I feel like it's usually one of these three things: 1. That design choice fit the theme they were going for 2. They felt the design choice simply looked good/would have lots of appeal or 3. coincidence.

Which do you all prefer when it comes to megazords/mechs, especially during combining sequences and individual actions? Stop motion and miniatures or CG?
Stop motion gives the feeling of reality as it's actually there, but CG does let the robots have "Flashier" combinations and more action prior to and after combining, so I'm curious.
