After my while 3ds internet crisis subsided, I finished transferring all of my Pokémon with items over to Omega Ruby. Here's how you do what I did:
1. Catch some junk Pokémon in ORAS (Poochyena, Zigzagoon, etc.)
2. Put it up on the GTS and ask for the Pokémon you want to transfer that has an item on it. (You can't trade over your mega stones though)
3. Go to Pokémon X or Y and head to the GTS. From there you look for the Pokémon you deposited and trade it for the Pokémon that had the item.
4. Proceed to ORAS GTS and claim your Pokémon.

This process may take a while if you intend to transfer a box full of Pokémon. (Like I did)

I don't know a whole lot about competitive play when it comes to Pokemon, but I do know that Umbreon is far from trash. Attack stat isn't everything you know.

Anyway, I have a week until ORAS so I'm passing time trying to breed a shiny Buneary before release (never actively tried to masuda method something before). Currently 420 eggs and still nothing :(

Dude, Gengar is a GHOST/POISON TYPE. Also, Dark types are awesome.

Just found my first Shiny in Omega Ruby and it's related to one of the new Mega Evolutions.

Reshiram and Zekrom are confirmed to have no shiny lock now meaning that shiny Reshiram and Zekrom are now legal.
