the point where Kuuga became amazing is when Kuuga just straight fucks up that one grongi.
those who watched Kuuga will get my point. also, Ichijo is the man. dude fought grongi with just a rifle! not even an automatic rifle! |

As for the Kuuga talk: I love Kuuga. It's awesome!
Anyway... I'm currently watching Amazon as my first showa series and I really enjoy it. I love the characters, their all so loveable and cute and while the story is a bit generic, the show does a great job on telling it. And the ending theme is great xD |

I have never watched a single Showa series before... I was always thinking about watching Kamen Rider Stronger or the original Kamen Rider but... I felt like I'd stop watching it or I'd just forget about it. It seems like Amazon is a good series so far though... I'll have to keep that idea in the back of my head for now. :) |
The main advantage of starting Showa with Amazon is that it's so short. With only 24 episodes, I think it's great to try it out :)

(Thanks for the show suggestion. :)) |
Kuuga is the reason I fell in love with Kamen rider. It has a lot of strong aspects to it and for what it may lack in certain areas, it is the only rider series I've seen where the threat that the monsters present feels like a lasting consequence and not another Angel Groves "we rebuilt the city between episodes" kind of conflict. That kind of setting and tone made so many episodes carry more weight (notably the episode that SanoBaron referred too)
That being said I'm currently 6 episodes into Agito and am interested to see how the concept of "double Rider" will get it's start in the Heisei era. I had watched OOOs after Kuuga and had seen parts of Kabuto and Ryuki so I know that later series would be pretty liberal with extra riders maybe to the point of becoming pseudo-sentai series. |
